Greetings,
I've just bought a 2nd hand Galaxy Tab and I've just been trying to get it more up to date to my liking.
I already own a Galaxy S and am familiar with flashing with Odin and such, having taken it from the Branded Orange Eclair firmware to XEU JVK Gingerbread Firmware (via some other firmwares along the way).
However with the Galaxy Tab, I'm finding myself a bit lost and stuck when seeking information with this device and ROMs and so on.
When I got the Tab, it came with either JJ5 or JJ7 (I didn't note it down carefully) and it was on the CPW CSC code. I couldn't even change the CSC code with the *#272*IMEI# command, as it doesn't present me with an option to do so.
The other thing I found was that when using Vol Up + Power didn't bring up a recovery mode with menus like I was anticipating to be similar to the Galaxy S, just a bit saying it's searching for application updates.
Subsequently, I started to install Overcome's ROM and started following the instructions, flashing JMK with the safe bootloaders. That went fine, aside from the Tab then ending up in a different language which was then remedied although the app called Samsung MMMM will force close.
However, the CSC code of the device has now changed again to PHN and I seem unable to change it.
So to summarise:
1. What CSC file or what steps do I need to take to get my tab working on a stock firmware with XEU sales code?
2. What else do I need to ensure I have a proper recovery mode with all the options for factory reset etc?
My Tab is currently a GT-P1000
PDA: P1000XWJMK
PHONE: P1000XXJMF
CSC: P1000PHNJM5
Thanks in advance,
Hybridesque.
I figured it out this morning. I flashed XXJK5 and the OAXJK5 Multi CSC onto my Tab and all seems alright now. Got my recovery mode and XEU CSC on the device now. Had a little bit of a scare when I just did the CSC on it's own and it didn't like it. Flashing the XXJK5 Firmware onto it afterwards fixed that and it's all fine now.
Hi Hybridesque,
Would you care sharing with me how you did this? Where you got the firmware from? Did Kies recognise it as update-able (awful, I know, sorry...). I seem to have a Russian CSC on my Tab and would like to come home. Thanks for any guidance!
Hello everybody!
I am new on the Samsung galaxy tab's world and I need your lights.
I bought from my Country the Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 with the below features:
PDA: P1000BUJMC
Phone: P1000BUJM2
CSC: P1000njRjm3
I followed your guide (showthread.php?t=888071) and the process was failed somewhere before the end.
After I followed some other guide and I use some other files from the thegalaxytabforum and from samfirmwares.com sites and after I see that my Tab features had been changed to the below:
PDA: P1000BUJMC
PHONE: P1000BUJM2
CSC: P1000VD2JM3.
Also I observe some changes on my Tab. These are:
a. The local settings has been changed to German.
b. After I used an application which I don't remember now, the functions keys light has been dissapeared.
c. I Listen a noise when I try to call.
So, I have some queries for you:
1.Which of the two process above is the correct?
2.How to reback my country's settings? Is there any secret code for it?
3.How to switch on the light on the menu, home, back and search keys?
4.How is the correct proccess to upgrade my tab firmware -if there is the correct firmware on my tab now-to android 3.0 -honeycomp like Samsung Galaxy tab 10.
5. What is the operation of PIT,PDA AND CSC files?
6.what is the difference between a protected and non protected bootloader?
7. Does PDA is the Bootloader?
8. Does the protected Bootloader mean that the phone is locked from the provider?
9.How to change a protected Bootloader with a non protected?
10.Are there different upgrades for the samsung galaxy tab for every country or not?
11.Can I find and download an other country upgrade for my tab? Is it right or not?
12.Can I fix the above problem with call? Is there any secret code to fix it?
I am waiting for your replies.
Friend, you didn't say what guide you were using, and what was your goal.
I will pass on all your other questions until we get the rom flashed properly.
You made a great profile!
Friend rangercaptain, I tried to install the Honeycomp or Android 3.0 on my Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000.
If you read again my thread you will see somewhere in the middle that I write for the xda-developers.com guide. Also, I write that I used files from thegalaxytabforum.com and samfirmware.com sites.
So, my problems are three:
1. I want to re-install the frist default settings on my Tab and I don't know where I can find these files on the internet.
2. I want to recover the functions keys light or better the light on the screen's menu.
3. I want after setup of First Default Settings , to install the Honeycomp on my Tab of 7 inches same like Samsung Galaxy Tab 10's firmware.
I believe that I explained you what is my goal and what I want to recover on my Tab.
Thank you for your reply and for your time.
I am waiting for your answers,
John
You can get JMC rom at www.samfirmware.com.
Although your country is Greece, what carrier is your tab from? Maybe there is a stock rom from your carrier.
friend my carrier is Vodafone GR.
Could I found something about it?
You can start a new thread asking someone to extract a backup of that carrier stock rom. Then you can flash it like any rom. Start the thread, and I'll help you.
Be sure to put the carrier in the title and be specific about what you want.
Thank you Rangercaptain!
So, If I find a person with the same Tab and with the same features I can take a full backup from this Tab?
How I can extract these files(PIT,PDA,PHONE,CSC) from this Tab?
Friend,
I did a mistake. My carrier is not Cosmote but Vodafone GR. I confused it with my second phone's carrier.
I posted an answer on your other thread.
I was on recently using my Galaxy S2 with Three UK 2.3.3 files, but I decided to make a move to stock Samsung firmware.
My initial details:
PDA: I9100 XWKF4
Phone: I9100 NEKF2
CSC: I9100 H3GKF1
My new/current details:
PDA: I9100 XWKE7
Phone: I9100 XXKE4
CSC: I9100 XEUKD1
Things seem to be working fine for the most part, but Kies tells me that it cannot upgrade the device. This is unusual behaviour as far as I know.
Before it simply displayed a Current Version and Available Version, both of which happened to be the same. Now it simply comes up with the error message that states explicitly that it cannot be updated.
In the future I'd like to be able to update via Kies to stock Samsung firmwares, so is there any way to fix this?
Anyone????
Maybe you should try Kies Registry Patcher to spoof it.
Or use Odin to change firmware wich is faster and easier imho.
Hi guys....
I was tring to understan what ROM did I have...
I've understood that my galaxy S is a Portugese phone...and I've seen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811194&page=3 that the last firmware for my phone is
Portugal (TMN): GT-I9000HKDTMN --> PDA: JM8 / PHONE: JM4 / CSC: JM1
As I whrote here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363851
I've flashed my phone but now I can't call or send sms or connect to internet by 3g...the phone is always on NO SERVICE...
I'd like to try to flash by Odin, or in any oyther way, the eclair official ROM for my mobile or the last official ROM for my mobile...but I can't understand how to find the files... Anyone can help me please?
Thank U so much...
What I really want to do is to put stock samsung 2.3.6 firmware on my telstra branded S2 (really want to get rid of the bloatware). I have no idea where to get it from as the links on XDA arnt working.
