Hello,
Anyone know where I can get a free PDF viewer? An actual Adobe Acrobat would be nice.
Thanks.
you can go to adobe's website to get the ppc version but it is a very old one, else look for Pocketxpdf cab here
Don't you have pre-installed Acrobat Reader LE?
Yes, but it's from 2004. I would like an updated version if that's possible.

You can use alternate PDF software but as far as I know there is no newer version of the adobe software. But since MS has licenced Acrobat Reader LE, maybe an updated version will show up with the first official WM 6.1. ROMs. Personally I found the "Picsel PDF Viewer" which came with Palm Treo 750 the best PDF software for PPCs. Unfortunately it's not available as standalone.

Hi - anyone have app recommendations for pdf viewing? specifically pdfs relating to scanned hardcopy documents? I downloaded repligo but it can't seem to open these sort of pdfs!
Double that.
I'm usually reading graphics heavt pdf documents (rpg games you can get in online stores like rpgnow) and been using foit on winMo. But now i'm migrating to android I need to know about an app that will handle those.
I don't want to spend my money for app I wont use.
P.S sorry for offtopic - is there any comic book reader on android that reads cbr and cbz files?
The HTC pdf reader can handle these files.
There is also a beta in the market -- BEAMREADER, it seems to work also, but it is very SLOW.
There is a office and pdf viewing program ripped from one of the new Archos tablets running Android called Thinkfree Mobile that does it all. You should be able to find it somewhere in the forums.
There is an Adobe PDF reader in the Market for requires Android 2.1 or higher. Here is a link: market://search?q=com.adobe.reader
Works great for me on CM5. Some of the reviews say it's slow, but it's faster than the free pdf reader I previously had, and opens files that even the HTC pdf reader won't...
Also tried this application. It had no problems opening large files,
a 90+ pages pdf loaded quite fast.
Just what we need, a way to open our phones to exploits.
can uploaded apk??
my Market need wipe before use
Android 3:1 and Adobe Reader
Did somebody teste AR on the OS updated version? How about stability? How's working there?
(I apologise for my bad english)

I want to "borrow" ePub books from the local library, but I really don't like the idea of installing dedicated DRM software on a PC and managing a local "library" of ebooks and THEN doing file transfers every time I want to load a title on the Nook.
It does seem as if an OverDrive app for Android was released
http://overdriveblogs.com/library/2...ps-for-iphone-and-android-now-support-ebooks/
"Now your customers will be able to download both EPUB eBooks and MP3 audiobooks directly to their iPhone, iPod touch, or Android phone/tablet. New users can search for “OverDrive Media Console” in the Apple App Store and Android Market, while current users will be alerted to update the existing OverDrive app on their devices."
Is this working for anyone on the NC? Does it avoid entirely the need for PC involvement, and let you download library books directly to the Nook?
Any downsides, fallout from the DRM, or other issues to consider?
yes, it works! Obviously, you must be rooted. If you stay on the stock rom, it worked best for me if I kept the stock browser as "default", otherwise when you attempted to download a book, a different browser like dolphin would get confused and just display gibberish.
Overdrive works great on my nook. I use it all the time. It totallly eliminates the need for anything on your PC. The only thing I have seen is that it can be easier to search on the PC, though when I do that I just check out the books and download them on my nook.
Oh I issue you may have is that you will need to disable the time settings from provider. If you do not you will not be able to turn on the adobe dem feature. Enjoy, feel free to PM me if run into problems.

I am a Samsung Galaxy S user and looking to upgrade to a device with a bit more screen real estate. I want to be able to run Adobe Air, same as on my Galaxy S.
However I've been unable to find any confirmation if the device supports Adobe Air. Only found some references that the web browser supports Flash. Adobe doesn't list the Note as certified, I even called Samsung and the reply I got "If it doesn't say it supports Air on our website, it probably doesn't".
Can any Note users please confirm if they can download and install Adobe Air from the Android Market? An example game that requires Adobe Air is Meteor Storm by Terry Paton, or an app like "ColorUp Lite- Photo Editor".
Any help appreciated
ITV Player is an Adobe AIR app, and it works fine on the Note.
