Hello,
I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it when I searched. Here is what I did as JVR was giving me multiple FCs throughout the day.
1. Nandroid backup using CWM Recovery
2. Installed JPY using ODIN.
3. Connected to Samsung Kies and updated to JVQ.
4. Flashed CWM with ODIN in order to get root, and restore my data (no system, no bin, no cache).
Now I want to flash the stock JVQ kernel, but I can't seem to find it. All I want is stock JVQ Kernel which I can flash with ODIN.
Any help/pointers will be really appreciated.
Download it from samfirmware.

Sorry, but I couldn't find a link to download just the stock kernel from samfirmaware.com
Here : http://www.MegaShare.com/3494659
There is also an app called perka's file stash were you can download things like modems, kernel etc.
edit: you can also download from there if you google it

You can't, but the kernel is in the full rom. Just download the rom of choice, pull out the kernel, & flash it!

Woops, misread the post, thought about the modem, my mistake ! :]
Here is the original JVQ stock kernel. Just unpack the .zip file and flash the .tar with odin. No PIT, no repartition. Select the .tar file under "PDA".

Easiest way is by flashing a kernel that already supports CWM with Odin a.k.a. something along the lines of the speedmod kernel.
I take it CWM is the reason you want 2e in the first place tho.

Would someone be in the mood to make a odin one click for
1. Eclair/Froyo bootloaders
2. I897 GB bootloaders
?
I dont like having to wipe data and flash stock when testing kernels for MIUI, which some of the new test kernels require different bootloaders for them to work.

Is it that hard to use normal Odin? or Heimdall? You can just download JF6 or KF1 from samfirmware and just flash primary and secondary bootloader.

Technically, its not one click but the Heimdall stock firmware by ubermaximus(I hope I got that right) will let you remove the stuff you don't want before you flash. You can remove cache.rfs, dbdata.rfs, factory.rfs, modem.bin, zImage (I think that's all). Keep the param.lfs file and the bootloaders.
If you can find just the bootloaders and param.lfs file you can create your own one click from the uckf1 download. It contains a one click creator in the odin zip.

When I extracted the JF6 firmware from the tar file, i saw param.lfs, cache.rfs, dbdata.rfs, factory.rfs, modem.bin and zImage and thats it. So just keep the param.lfs and flash with Heimdall?

Even if you follow the threads linked above, you arent going to get very far with ROM Manager. they havent supported the captivate since it was on 2.1 eclair I believe. Learn to use ODIN.

-_- OMG I tried to be nice. You don't ODIN CWM. You ODIN a kernel that contains CWM injected into the kernel itself. I recommend CORN kernel and KK4 custom or stock ROM

I recommend you do a lot more reading of the resources available throughout the Captivate section before flashing anything, with ODIN or without.
Been looking around the forums not sure If I'm not looking in the right places or just blind But looking for a safe kernal such as Hydracore to flash in my note, was wondering if there is any new version available.
[Please keep it noob friendly]
Georific
Hydracore 7 is stable so no need to update it. There is a hydracore reborn too for Touchwiz jelly bean roms.
Finally there is Phils kernel too which is safe stock but with added Cwm features.
There are more, but them 3 are the most popular

Thanks for the quick response, mind linking me some of the threads that have the downloads and also one more thing, do you know any step-by-step tutorials on how to flash a kernal and roms to the galaxy note. I followed one a while back and links are outdated was wondering if you link me a noob friendly tutorial.
I seriously think you should not flash anything if you cant even find it yourself...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863
That's hydracore 7 can't really link things using xda app its a pain in the ass.
Anyway, find the kernel you want, if its a Cwm flashable one then place on your sd card, reboot recovery and flash it (install zip from sd, choose zip from sd)
If it's odin version (.tar) then load it into pda section of odin and reboot into download and hit start.
Same applies with roms, just load em on your sd and flash in recovery, read the OP for detailed step by step install instructions, some require wipes of /preload and /system
