I tried to browse the files on /proc on my LG P970 but I can't find the config.gz file on it. I used the adb method and root explorer but I still can't find it there. I'm wondering if where is it located? Can anybody upload their config.gz from a stock rom?
Hello there!!
Even I am looking for the same. Did you got to know, how can we get the config.gz??
Let me know if you found the answer.
Is this what you are looking for??

Nope a lot of companies like LG remove it from the kernel. But e.g. for our phone, you can download the complete kernel sourcecode (without ramdisk) and rebuild it on your own with the defconfig in there.

Thanks for your replies..
Here the problem is Micromax does not release kernel sources.
Is there any alternative?

Write it on your own Search a board with the same hardware and try to apply it to your device... But I think you really need patience and definitly a way to unbrick. Email them for the sources, cause the used opensource and have to provide it. CMIIW.

Why don't u do this
Delete the LG framework from the LG's Rom and place the framework of the HTC's and replace the permissions too in the /etc folder u will get more functionality
And replace the bootclasspath in the starting of the lines in the init.rc of ur kernels ramdisk

Okay, but what kind of sources are these?
Where do we need them for?
Are this GPU drivers, other drivers, MODs for fixing the known problems?

So i searched "ath6kl_sdio.ko" in google and i found this: https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-93603.
I continue to look and i found "/lib/modules/3.5.0-17-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl/ath6kl_sdio.ko" in ubuntu linux-image-extra-3.5.0-17-generic package: http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/i386/linux-image-extra-3.5.0-17-generic/filelist
And this: http://cjix.info/blog/files/nitdroid/AR6003Android.pdf
I just wonder, Can not we using these resources and find the wi-fi driver?
kidding no?

guys, i was browsing in the kernel source files. i found "ath5k, ath9k and carl9170" wireless drivers in "net/wireless/ath/" folder. but we need "ath6kl" folder.
i found that folder in http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/drivers/net/wireless/ath/?v=3.2 adress. almost the same as our. there is just have an extra folder and we need that folder! ath5k folder on this site, the same as ours kernel folder.
our kernel source code ath folder in attachments. if you want to take a look.
guys, the attachmented file is ath6kl folder. so, one of the developer to try it.
sorry for my bad english.
donno if it helps, just found it:
