Hi, I want to restore my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 factory Rom (Bell Canada) and I can't find the rom.
I've already done that before after trying to install Darkie's rom. Now i can't find the rom anymore
And how is this related to accessories?
samfirmware .com SGS firmwares
Tried the samfirmware.com, but can't find the right FW that will make my phone compatible with kies again. I asked my friend for the PDA Release version and he answered me with I9000UGKG3 but all i found was the PDA tar file to upgrade from 2.1 (witch i tried but dont work) its been 2hrs i've been looking for the complete firmware (the 3files to flash with odin) but i don't find em

I'm afraid I can't help you, pal. But this should really be in the Q and A section, not accessories.

Hi All,
I Upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S to Froyo 2.2. All seems well but the performance does not seem all that great as well.
If i want to restore back to the Standard Manufacturer Firmware (i was on JG4) that comes out of the box with the I9000 what do i have to do? Any help here would be appreciated.
Download the firmware from samsung-firmwares and flash your phone with odin. There is plenty of flashing tutorials about to show you how to do it. Although if you managed to update to froyo then you properly already know how to flash it again

Hello. I managed to get the firmware from samfirmware.com for the original 2.1 (Asian version) but I couldn't get it to follow through. There would always be an error with regards to MD5 or something. What do I do? Thanks

I have the same problem as well, any helps here please?
Alot of the the DXJG4 firmware out there is corrupted.
So, try download DXJF4 from samfirmware.com (and flash with Odin with 513 pit) then uprade to DXJG4 through KIES.
NOTE: If KIES says "Device version's cannot be upgraded". Then you need to change your product code back to "XSO" (Search the forum on how to change product code.... about editing the nv_data.bin file)
My Flash history:
DXJF4-->DXJG4-->XXJPK-->DXJG4
I'm pretty new....
The firmware versions you guys are talking about are I hope, all "software" version and not real hardware chip revisions?
thanks
why dont you just flash your phone with 2.2.1 or 2.3.3(latest).....i know 2.2 is quite unstable FW but 2.2.1 will help a lots......I dont think you need to downgrade the phone back to the stock FW to solve any problem
Hi All,
I have a Galaxy S I9000 that I purchased from Optus (Australia) that I have been flashing with different ROMs quite happily. Unfortunately in my excitement I did not take note of the original versions.
I had a nightly build of CM7 on it but now that Samsung Australia have released Gingerbread I wanted to do a stock upgrade (with Kies) to try it out.
So I reverted to a stock 2.2 I got from the ezRom guide (can't post the link)
BUT, kies says that it is not updateable.
So then I tried to revert to a ROM that is supposedly an Optus one. I have flashed it to (According to KIES):
PDA:JP5 / PHONE:JP3 / CSC:JP4 (NEE)
Or from the phone:
PDA: I9000DTJP5
PHONE: I9000DTJP3
CSC: I9000XSAJP4
Build info: 2010.11
But Kies still says "This version of the device cannot be updated."
Is it because of the CWM bootloader (v2.3?)?
Any suggestions / ideas?
Many thanks in advance
Have you tried using ODIN for flashing?

Yes indeed. I used Odin to flash the ROMs.
Thanks.
Get this one: http://www.multiupload.com/CH3Y5SAHE2 (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881)
This is the Optus Australia one
Bugger.......

Good suggestion, and it flashed OK and works OK, but, KIES still says it cannot be updated.
Should I flash the bootloader? It is CWM.
I wonder if KIES looks for the bootloader.
Kies is a huge pile of dung. Why bother messing with the bootloader when you've already flashed what you wanted?

Several Reasons:
1) I want to see what Samsung's "Official" version of Gingerbread is like.
2) CM7 bluetooth pairing is broken. I am totally over having to go through the pairing process every damn time I get in my car.
3) I have to go back at least to 2.2 at some point as I have lost access to my External Flash card.

You should be able to grab the stock fimware from samfirmware.com and flash it with odin, no?
Hi,
I have successfully just done what you are trying to accomplish. I don't have the links to these files anymore but if you can't find them I'd be happy to make them available for you.
Firstly flash GT-I9000_FROYO_FULL_PDA.tar as it has a boot loader.
Secondly flash GT_I9000_DTJP5_DTJP3_XSAJP4 which is the original stock.
this looks like the link for the froyo full PDA tar: http://www.multiupload.com/3FFWC68UMC
so does this work? I want to get back to stock Optus and similarly didn't take note of any original versions or do any nandroid backups. idiot!
Okey, first of all, I'm a complete noob when it comes to this, so I need some help.
After long browsing I was able to root my Samsung Galaxy.
Now I want to update my Galaxy from 2.2 to Gingerbread.
Since I rooted my Galaxy it won't connect to Kies anymore, so I guess Kies won't work.
I have an Samsung Galaxy S I9000,
FROXO.XWJPA,
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Is it possible to update, if yes, how?
Thanks
anyone? :l
Go to samfirmwares.com for the latest firmware

Download a FW from Samfirmware, the latest is I9000XXJVR (Its 2.3.4), then via Odin you flash a 3 file's, its CODE, MODEM and CSC, and pit file and tick re-partition
Xooley,
I'm new on the forums so cant post any links but if you search for "how to use Odin" then it's really not that difficult.
The biggest decision you have is whether to stick with a "stock" copy of firmware i.e released by the manufacturer or install one of the modded versions from the hard working developers on XDA.
if you have a rooted phone then this wouldn't normally prevent KIES from working, so it might be that your carrier (orange?) hasn't release a Gingerbread version yet.
You can get most stock roms from samfirmwares as stated above. If you've never installed a rom before, make sure you read about it (checked youtube) to see if there are any problems with the one that you have chosen.
best of luck
Dears,
I require help from you. My galaxy note has stock ROM and is very laggy.
PDA:KL3/PHONE:KL1/CSC:KL1(INU).
I read in some threads that with KL7 firmware, lag disappears completely.
i have few questions.
1. I want stock ROM and when i try to connect with kies, it says 'this is the latest firmware'. i bought this from India and Im currently in saudi arabia.
2.where will i get the STOCK ROM for KL7 and how to put in my note?
3. Will this 'unofficial' way clean up my data?or will my apps and setting remain as it is after update.
appreciate your replies.

1.This is latest ROM for India, thats why kies says.(you have purchased from india)
2. Read My signature
3.It has no relation with way you are updating, Dont select 'Re-partition' option while you flashing with Odin, so you will not lose data, but it is always advisable to backup first.
Now another thing, if you install KL7 by odin, you will not able to Root it later. If you want Rooted KL7, you need this
- Get ROOT + CWM in present ROM (read My signature)
- Install Mobile Odin Pro from market
- Now download Stock firmware, as i advised you earlier, n Flash your device with Mobile Odin Pro, with ' ever Root' option enable
thanku buddy
im sorry. but i downloaded a file N7000XXKL7_N7000OXAKL7_N7000XXKL7_HOME.tar.md5. now i see 4 options in ODIN: bootloader/phone/csc/pda. now where i should i associate this field.???
also since my csc is INU and this seems DBT is there anything should i b doing??? . pls gime detailed steps
just to select PDA, as you seen in guide.
got it right.upgraded to kl7. thank you dr.
I am confused. This is the latest firmware, but it is still carrier specific, correct?
Is there a firmware that is 'pure samsung galaxy note' which hasn't been manipulated by the carriers?
I guess KL8 is the latest firmware.

Ok, so many new stock roms have come after that. so go and use
N7000XXLC1---------2.3.6-------2012 March----------N7000OXALC1----------Open Germany-----------------------------Download
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997.
Apologies if this is the 23534th thread about this, had a search through and wasn't able to find a solution that I hadn't already tried.
Currently have Galaxy S with DarkyROM loaded (x2). Trying to break contract and send the phone back and need to reload the stock/factory ROM so I can send the phone off for "repair" and not get done for hacking my phone!
Have tried the Kies/Registry hacks to get Kies to do the hard work for me, but Kies just won't give me an "Update Firmware" version.
On the second phone I loaded a stock Froyo ROM via Odin which wasn't behaving properly - did a factory reset and pretty sure the phone is bricked.
Haven't been able to find a working download for a stock OPS/Optus ROM to try on the other phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

As long as I don't screw up via Odin again this should get me to where I need to be!
