Top tip: Don't drop expensive phones!

I originally posted these over at WMPowerUser (and they have now seemingly become popular images) so I thought why not get the word out a little more?
Basically, I dropped my HTC HD2. Big mistake. Now, I have to get it all repaired!

Don't drop your phone, it's rather fragile (even if it can take a knifing).

I have the one it came with, which isn't much use if you actually want to use the device!

Yeah, ouch. My friend dropped her G1 on it's back, and it cracked the screen.

Man, I'm sorry about that. TBH I cringed a little when I first saw this on WMPoweruser.com. This seems to be a problem with all glass-screened phones, as about three friends of mine (all with iPhones) have had them replaced at least once due to shattered screens. Well, I wish you the best of luck in getting it fixed

Ahhhh i'm on the safe side... I have a HTC Universal and even if it drop down nothing happens to the screen... big advantage of having calmshell design.....

HTC Two Toned Hard Shell Case

I did a search, and didn't find anything about this. Does anybody have the two toned hard shell case from HTC, as seen here: http://wsf1-shopamerica.htc.com/accessories.htm?prId=36999? If so, do you have any pictures? Any color is fine. Thanks!

I ended up ordering it so once it comes in I will make a post with pictures

Yes, the Amazon ones are the same HTC offers. I was hoping that it wouldn't be the case based on the photo on HTC's website showing that the bottom is connected, but I was wrong.
I am sending it back and getting a refund. The case does not stay together very well at all and the gap on the bottom makes it worse. It could've been a lot better if it came together at the bottom as well. Don't bother with this one guys.

Thats one way of doing it. And much Cheaper.

Like the NC isn't heavy enough for reading. Good job though.
Lifehacker had an atricle about using book binding materials to make an Ipad case. It would be neat to make one.

I've always wanted to hollow out a book for something - just thought it would be kinda fun. Looks like you did a good job. Only thing to be concerned for is dropping the "book" and having the NC come flying out.

Putting my Nook in a book would ruin part of the benefit of using a Nook for me: I don't have to hold something open to be able to read; I can just lay it down and be done with it. This is definitely cool, but for me, if I have to hold it open it's not worth it.

looks heavy, I saw a guy do the same, but remove all the pages and cut material to replace the book binding and make it look more smooth, I gotta try it too, thanks for all the ideas

You missed an opportunity to do this with a Sarah Palin book.

This is going to be very useful in prison....but how will you get the NC into the pen in the first place?

Unwanted particles

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, the picture below will explain most of my problem. I'm wondering if any other IS users out there have dirt in the same area pointed in the image? You can only see 3 particles, but in person the whole line between the 2 parts is filled with dirt or something.
If anyone else has had this, did you find a way to clean it? I've tried a needle but even that is too big to get in there. I know it's not much, but whenever I see it, it brings out the OCD in me.

Try with paper, a simple A4 might do the trick since you can bend it and stuff... Usually works for me.

Sorry, I tried it and as much as the thickness is perfect, it wasn't rigid enough to be able to pick out the dirt. So not much improvement

Try a manual air pump brush. Watchmakers use it. Just google the picture of it, you will know what I am talking about.
But watch out, they are small but can provide pressure which can break microphones and speakers if you pump em directly.

Cool, show us if you can when you install it, and BTW I don't promote for dbrand, I just wanted to share with you guys this amazing skin especially after I installed it and saw how good the cuts is, the material and customer service, I made two previous orders from silckwrap and they were just the worst, horrible shipping to UK, reached me after a month, took custom from me and bad customer service when I was just inquiring after two weeks of delay where is my package?! and the cuts was not that perfect (for my old M8), so I decided to go with dbrand this time and they were the best, in just two days I received the skin, it shipped all the away from Canada (I guess cause I think the envelope says something about Toronto)!
IDK, I wont be objective since my bad bad experience with silckwrap.

Does it actually interfere with the edge function its self?
