I would like to display files in file explorer in form of icons rather than the listing.
Is this possible? How do I access the settings for file explorer?

[Q] Can not change permissions using Root Explorer

I have Root Explorer installed and I am trying to rename a file in the directory system\media and copy a new .zip file to the location. When I have executed the process it changes back to original file.
I have checked the Mount R/W button at the top of Root Explorer as well.
I have checked to make sure the superuser is in the whitelist for Root Explorer.
I also can not add .apk files to the apps folder as well.
What can I do to resolve this.
TIA.

Can I change a programs icon using Root Explorer?

So I'm messing around with SPB shell and one of my 2 grips with it is that I can't set custom icons for programs on the launcher at the moment.
Is there a way through root explorer for me to change the icons for a few programs? Mainly the dialer, handcent and the web browser?
no

The images are stored in the .apk themselves. But i bet you could ninjamorph an image into a apk and put it back...but the problem is the app if downloaded from the market wont update
There is a great program for pc that allows you to do that very easily. Its called apk edit. They just released a new version. I dont have the link with me but if you do a search on xda you should be able to find it

Read-only on internal memory

Hi guys i want to move a mp3 ringtone to internal storage on my OB also i cant create a folder. Please help me guys i have the latest CM nightly, Thanks in advance!
Take root explorer or ES File Explorer to do the task. You need to mount your filesystem, to be able to write. Then just Copy and paste it
how do i do that ? i already have root explorer and es file explorer
You have to enable it in the settings of ES File Explorer.

Open ES file manager push menu/options button, settings, scroll down to root explorer, check the box, click allow this app to have SuperUser rights and save the setting (check box), mount datasystem (/ and /system mount) (it s a checkbox below root explorer), copy your file and paste it wherever you want to

Unable to rename files in Oreo due to write permission no change

Hi,
I was not going anywhere when I asked this at other section and hopefully in this Note 9 section I can resolve my query. Here is my problem; I was tried to rename .ogg files on my rooted Samsung Note 9(Oreo) and unable to do it. I found limited information. I can rename the .ogg files in the older Android Jelly Bean to Marshmallow though.. What I have tried so far from these app and failed;
1. ES explorer
2. root explorer
3. mixplorer
4. total commander
Permission for "RW" only can set on "mixploer", and "root explorer" but after tried to copy over the root folder, it prompted failed to copy. Although I can set ES exploere to "RW" mode but it fools you to believe it has rename the file but in reality it was unable to, what a screw up.. Anyone has successfully rename any .ogg files in root folders? Thanks in advance.
