Hey guys I need to send my phone back for warranty replacement and I am afraid to use Odin one click, because I know it bricked a friends phone recently beyond even JIG repair. His was an 11.02 or something and mine is a 10.07.
All I have flashed is DG's Cognition if that helps.
What should I do to go back to factory stock, will oneclick kill mine like his?
I cant afford to brick this one so I just need some confirmation, thanks guys.
Odin back to stock is the preferred method. While there is risk of brick, it generally doesn't happen that often. I have used it countless times.
But Odin will bring you back to stock and wipe any evidence from having a custom ROM.

*Also, you could always say you were trying to update via kies and it stopped working (if anything went wrong) They won't ever know and it'll just get flashed stock firmware once they get ahold of it anyway.
I believe you can flash back to stock using OdinOneClick. But just to be sure you can flash this package instead
--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995143
That package flashes everything but the two bootloaders and param.lfs. Meaning if anything goes wrong you still can use the combos or a jig to get back into download mode .
Just to double check you use:
Vol up, Vol down & power key to get into recovery mode?
&
Vol up, Vol down & usb cable to get into download mode?
It doesn't matter at all if you brick it. You're sending it in for a warranty replacement already. If odin one click bricks it tell them some bs about kies doing it.

Is it really necessary to post a useless post, with no information?
You really think I didn't search these insanely complicated and deep forums?
A friend of mine just ended up with a hard brick after using odinoneclick.
Something about a later build phone. But nobody seems to know much about this issue.
So needless to say I would like to be a bit cautious now.

About as necessary as you starting a new thread for a common issue instead of posting to an existing related thread. And the problem with later build phones (1008 and up) is also well documented in here. Be cautious all you want, but respect the forum by not starting redundant threads.

Im trying to get back to stock from GB. Mine is 10.06, OdinOneClick (with 2 bootloaders) wont work, odin3 works but I cant find a stock rom with those 2 bootloaders.
I could tell you to use odin3, but I cant link you a stock rom with 2 bootloader.

is there a way to go back to stock compleately?
I used odin and it brings it back to stock software, but what about the data on the phones internal memory all that stuff is still there. Like pictures, music, titanium backup files, etc.
Can the internal memory be formated?

I got a new computer and new cable and now odin 1 click is working good!
Odin and Windows 7
Just an FYI for all Windows 7 user about Odin3 (oneclick or otherwise) in general. Use Windows XP service pack 2 compatibly mode to make this run without getting locked up as often.

dude you get your warranty back if you flash a stock rom again....rooting is always tempprary and you can get it unrooted easily....if you damage your phone after rooting and then if something happend then your warranty will be void.....so risk is yours-- warranty or root.....i rooted my phone within 1 hr of its purchase and after 5 months there was not even a single day i felt that i should get my warranty back...l.....
but CW5 still remains i suppose!! And where can i find the exact stock rom?

Guessing you're on a phillz kernel now? Simply download stock gb or ics from samfirmware.com, perform full 3 wipes in cwm recovery while still on jb, then flash stock rom with pc odin, done, make sure it boots ok, if needed perform wipes again (unless on unsafe ics kernel).
P. S... Regarding the phone saying it's charging when not, this usually points to dirty points on the usb connector, cleaning with alcohol and cotton bud usually fixes it, might save you a service center visit and 4 week wait.

Yes, make sure you disable ever root option or it will retain root. Also check binary counter after flash just to make sure it's zero.

seriously, when will people start searching... I give up
Hi,
I am trying to install the barclays bank app however it wont work since my phone is rooted. I have tried using the permanent unroot option in supersu but this doesnt resolve the issue. Does anyone know how I can remove root so it doesnt recognise that the phone was ever rooted.
Just flash a stock ftf with flashtool and root is gone, or make a sw repair thru PC companion, same result.

Need to send back my Z3 compact for some warranty issues.
What is the best way for me to revert to stock?
I already have all my apps backed up and a twrp backup as well.
I am rocking a modified rom, and want to make sure I don't meet problems due to it. My bootloader is not unlocked.
Also I ordered my phone from the UK from Handcent Is there a specific firmware I should use then?
What do i need to do to revert back to complete stock?
Thanks for any help!

once you unlock the bootloader ur warranty will void and it can be track even if you relock it
:good:
Since the phone is not unlocked, all you have to do is flash a clean stock FTF and check the "wipe userdata" checkbox OR perform a repair phone trough Sony pc companion ( select update phone without having it connected and then you can select repair my phone).
If you have any other questions feel free to ask

I was hoping to just do the repair using the sony bridge software but for some reason the software does not recognize the phone. Could it be before I am running a modified Rom? I am using Waijks PreRooted Rom. Thanks a for the help I appreciate it.

Usually a stock ROM like that doesn't provide problems for the repair mode.
Are you using the repair function or the update function. Update probably shouldn't work but repair should.
To access repair simply launch PC companion without the phone plugged in and press update phone, here it will give you the option to repair your phone which should flash a clean install over any stock ROM.
Should this fail I'm afraid you'll have to go through flashtool. If you need any instructions just ask
