i suggest doing a re-stock before you flash team overcome's kratos... just to be on the safe side...
im using Kratos right now, I have encountered a problem with the power control widget that comes with my the Galaxy Tab... is there anyone here who encountered the same problem and do you know any fix for this....
I followed the steps in Team Overcome's website re-stock and all those things i didn't encounter any problem except for the power control widget...

What i like about it is the Internet calling havent tried it though and its fast..

flashed a couple of times back-and-forth with Overcome Kratos and Stock DXJPE/DXJPI... what I really noticed was that my tab will always feel warm with Kratos even if I'm running it underclocked (800mhz max) and simply reading an ebook, as opposed to stock ROM running full (1000mhz max) and playing HD games...
so I stuck to the stock DXJPI rom... as it fits my needs fine...

I experienced warming on jupiter. Sorry to hear that it is still so.with kratos
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk

Same here. I go back to dxjpi but my kernel is overcome 3.3.1. No problem at all...
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk

I (briefly) installed Kratos. Everything was ok for a while until the time when, after checking my facebook account I put down the tab to watch the news on TV. When I picked up the tab with the facebook app still on the space where it was on the table felt warm.
I have since put back DXJPI on my tab-no more warming issues so far......

guys, where can i get the dxjpi rom? im currently on kratos and i experience the warming too. do flash the dxjpi from recovery?
thanks.

HERE..Next time please use the search function.

should we be using the stock jq1 to be able to flash overcome? or we can flash coming from stock dxjpi then install kernel and overcome rom?

I've been on Dip7 DXJPI for a while but i did have problem with video playing and find suitable kernel for that ROM
anybody experiencing video lag especially 720p n DXJPI?
what kernel did you use?

Just follow steps outlined in the overcome guide and you will be ok. No need for.any other files.except the ones.in that guide

I have used Kratos in Subic, Clark, and Manila. All works fine. The data using Globe is pretty fast, the GPS works well, and the dial pad is a nice feature to make calls.

overcome is quite ok.. quite fast and quite stable

[Q] Is it OK NOT to flash ROM after flashing to Stock Gingerbread?

I read and reread the overcome step by step on flashing to gingerbread.
I am curious if instead of proceeding to flash the overcome rom I decide to try out the stock gingerbread first.
If I get to the step after flashing the stock gb (step 7 in the overcome step by step) wherein I wipe/factory reset will I get a usable tab, gingerbread problems notwithstanding? That is the step where the setup screen.
Yes you can flash the stock rom without flashing the overcome rom.

Andychud : beware, I don't know if you can flash this rom with you p1000T tab, it's for p1000(euro tab) Do a search before flashing. All I know is it's alson compatible with asian tab.
Edit : nevermind what I said. I saw that you can flash the euro rom on a p1000t.

Thanks for the warning. I also just got an email from a friend in Oz with exactly same model as me. He said it flashed no problem with euro stock gingerbread. He also reports that everything is working & it generally seems much more responsive.

[Q] SGS Vibrant I9000M upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.4!

Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade with the recently leaked European Gingerbread 2.3.4 image to the Bell's Vibrant I9000M?
I'm currently running Froyo 2.2, firmware UGKC1. Have downloaded the official 2.3.4 from samfirmware.com and already rooted and unlocked my phone.

It is... i would suggest going this route instead of through the one from samfirmware.
I use darky's ROM. I upgraded to 10.1 (it is 2.3.3), then recently upgraded via CWM to Dark Core 2.7.3 (which has the 2.3.4 GB firmware). Beware that the core is beta at this time, and so far in 2 days i haven't had any real issues on my phone.
www.darkyrom.com, then check the forums.
We are quite in Sync. Co-incidentally I upgraded to Darky's ROM(10.1) about an hour back. I'll give a try to the Beta now. Pls do share your experience with the beta overtime.
Thanx

So far so good... other than my battery. Although i do have a momax 2700mah battery, it only lasted 30ish hours before it died... including using superpower to manage night time usage. I should be getting more than that with this battery (and i have done the reconditioning with the battery since i got it).
Even with 10.1 i got a day and a half or so... but the half day doesn't work for me as i need it for a full day.
Now that i've done one round of recondition on my battery, i'm anxious to see how good the battery will last now.
10.1 works with the JVP kernel fine (at least some of the features for it). I had to upgrade gtalk to the video talk version myself though (although i'm sure it'll be included in the next darkyrom).
Let me know what you think of it...
Hey guys i am also on the I9000M through bell and would love to get the gingerbread on here but the last time i tried i couldnt connect to my 3g for wireless and i couldnt call out or recieve calls please tell me the guide you used because man that gingerbread was fast and smooth.
Right now heres what my phone status is
Model number GT I9000M
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband version I9000UGKC1
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
[email protected] #4
Build number FROYO UGKC1
Thanks in advance for any help
ps my phone is already rooted
you can get gingerbread, but you need to take the extra step of flashing the kc1 modem, or do the 850 band tweak on a euro modem

I could say after if you using Odin.
But before starting ask yourself what do you really want....
Just the 2.3.4 stock or a custom rom (like Darky's), rooted?, Aply a new theme?

[Q] - newbie - flashing jump help

Hi all,
I am wondering if someone will be able to clarify for me.
I have got the Darky 10.2.2 final and I want to install the Latest JVS from SamFirmware.
Will this okay or will this be dangerous? I just want to put it back to Stock and then root it using chainFire CF "Our Legend".
I am planning to just flash on top of the current Darky on the Phone.
Hope this make sense.
I am using ODIN and I have got JIG for download mode.
Thanks guys.
I went from Darky 10.2 to JVS (and then semaphore kernel) no problems..
I had no need to use a jig.

Thanks for the reply.
I am not too familiar with I9000.
Do i need to install the ext4 from CF afterwards? For the lag fix?
Reason i ask is because i noticed that CF has the addon file available for download.
Cheers
It's always a good idea to revert to rfs before flashing a new firmware (in case the kernel doesn't support ext4; i don't think stock jvs does).
Otherwise shouldn't be a problem
Flashed stock rom with pit included. Now using latest. Seems to be ojay. Dont think i will need lag fix
Cheers

Please help- Urgent!

Hey guys, my friend has a i900 running 2.2.1 froyo. He hates how it is always freezing and wants me to root it and put CM9 on it. I swapped sim cards with him and did a nandroid on mine so i can restore after. So i have his phone
I was wondering is the process to get Cm9 running is the same as coming from gingerbread.(thats what my phone came with 2.3.4)
On mine i:
Flashed CF root with ODIN,
Booted into recovery and flashes Cm9 and an approprite kernel.
Just wondering if i can follow the same procedure as before. Help is appreciated, i dont want to mess this up.
Thanks.
Just upgrade to gingerbread using Odin...root with appropriate kernel using Odin...flash latest cm9 nightly in cwm...check out slim 4.1 as well.

All i need is recovery mode anyway.
Just wondering

I don't believe you can go to Cm9 from froyo...you maybe right but all the info you need is in the links I provided. I'm sure you'll find you're answer in the cm9 thread.
I gave it a quick look and it doesn't mention gingerbread. But if it were me I would since it might be more difficult to dig up a kernel for froyo

I don't actually need the kernel to boot though. I just a recovery to flash the Rom. Would that work?

I see you have an i9000m and on Virgin - franchisee of Bell.
Follow these instructions
[HOWTO] Flashing CWRecovery to i9000m & upgrade to ICS AOSP 4.x ROM from any version
Branch off to whatever ICS rom you want.
You'll definitely need to be using the cm7-kg3 modem for any ICS rom going forward. That means after every new ROM flash you'll have to flash the KG3 modem. Once you are upgrading within a ROM, you won't have to re-flash the modem each time.
If you use a firmware from the first link I gave you there are firmware. with bootloaders.
The links contain everything you need...firmware....kernel to get cwm....Cm9....and radio zip

Thanks guys, im going for it pretty soon here. You guys are awesome.
For the first time in my life, kies just connected to a phone. I cant handle it. I think im gonna pass out in disbelieve.
Anyway... lol.
Can i just update to gingerbread kg3 from kies?
Yes, but you may have a difficult time finding a kernel with cwm for kg3.
×Slim Rom×
and now i cant get into recovery mode. Just download mode. I downloaded the stock firmware from samfirmware, and was gonna flash it with odin, but which file to i put it under? Its just a single tar ball
EDIT: For some reason i have to use power volume up AND down and home. Wierd.
I always use firmware from the link I gave you...just flash jw5 from link with 512 pit....then root with semaphore 2.7.4.tar from second link....easy.
×Slim Rom×
I will try that now. Cause im bootlooping with CF root.
After that you can flash cm9 in cwm...additionally slim 4.1...then slim common....then the Kg3 modem zip in cwm as well.

Hello, i ve spent some time looking for this problem and cant find solution on forums...
I can't turn bluetooth on in my Note. I turn it on from settings\slide bar, it will think for about 10 seconds, then turn off again( i m getting 'bluetooth devices detected' message meanwhile, but cant see the list ).
Same on gingerbread rom i bought it with( don't remember which one), also tried ics 4.0.4 stunner and rocket roms, same problem.
Please help

fixed it by flashing speedmod kernel.
It's a known issue. ICS 4.0.4 Bluetooth doesn't work on custom kernel. But speedmod (since k3-9) and Notecore has fixed it.
if your using speedmod kernel versions prior to k3-9... you can't hold on your BT for a long time..it would just turn off for brief seconds... its a known issue on lower versions of the speedmod kernel... install speedmod k3-9 and higher and your BT will be fine.
i have installed stock GB, then updated to ICS thru kies, everything Stock....still BT doesn't work...
u are saying if i put a custom kernel it will?
is it safe to flash that speedmod over stock kernel?
Nop it should work on stock.. If it doesn't work on stock it won't work on anything
