Hi guys,
Just yesterday i loaded Coldmod Rom... am loving the rom but it lags sometimes... i was wondering if there are any kernels recommended for Coldmod rom that will keep the battery life the same (or make it better) and help get rid of the lag that i get sometimes....
Quadrant score is coming to only 930-980.. im on the same kernel that flashed with the Coldmod 2.0 (default)
Thanks

Hi all.
I'm having this issue with gta iii. It crashes after some gameplay and reboots my phone. Could it be that this is because i have a custom rom installed?
Thanks for your time,

i had the same issue on stock rom. version 1.0 didn't have that problem, but as soon as i updated it to higher version all of them had this problem. so try to install the first release, it might work for u.
try another kernel and disable oc.
if the problem cant solved, try another rom with combination other kernel.
Re: [CM7/MIUI Kernel][KANG][APR18][NEW] ETaNa v3.0.y with Spica (c) OTF ToolKit
Am new to android so plz correct me if am wrong.

Hello I installed this kernel looks on cm7 and have not had any problems, bugs or viruses, is very stable and has frequent updates!
From what I have read in that thread, that kernel has a bug that makes /system read-only. There's also a workaround to fix it, though.

Not for me I always can set R/W for /system this kernel work like a charm.
But what does R/W has to do with battery level fluctuations.. network is kind of stable now. But the battery level fluctuations are occurring as usual. Am I the only one with this kind of weird problem ...

Really good kernel.. that's what holding me back from flashing another kernel.. please some one help..

Yes this Kernel is good, but he have the r/w issue...
Because that, i use the ETaNa 2.6 Kernel. He runs also very nice and have a good battery life
Perhaps the DS battery driver was causing the problem with the weird battery readings... just flashed a kernel without it everythings back to normal.

Try to install new superuser from play store it solved my problem about system R/W.
Hi folks,
I didnot know my X8 can be upgraded to newer android version until recently. After bunch of reading I understand that:
* my X8, with the date of production is 11W48, cant be boodloader unlocked by normal tools (someone with the same phone had it unlocked with SETool2)
* upgrading options for me is custom ROM based on original kernel (correct me if I am wrong).
So after digging around, I have:
* rooted the phone (using SuperOneClick v 2.3.3)
* installed xRecovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426)
* installed CWM Recovery using xRecovery
* installed Froyo 2.2.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223)
While I am now quite excited that my phone is equipped with android 2.2 now, I want to have other advice/suggestion regarding their enormous experience with X8. Since my phone is not bootloader unlocked, please tell me which ROMs that I can flash without requirements of bootloader unlocked? If there is ROMs with android 3 or 4 (ICS) that would be excellent.
Thanks in advance,
D.
Android 3 z for tabs nd 4 needs unlocked bootloader.U can try gdx for stock kernel or primehd for stock or u can use fde3 for stock kernel nd its a very good rom too

Please be aware that unlocking bootloader can hard brick your sweet phone. Refer earlier threads.

Try gingerdx or fde +3. They are both for stock.
Is gingerxperia really good? Is it 2.3.7 too?

U'd rather do a search...there is a thread by lucastan96 about all these :thumbdown:
Is it important how did i send this?
i used it
i suggest to search for:
xperience
Gingerdx
cyanogenmod7
shinengine
kuyaICS
they can be flash to your phone with your stock kernel and locked bootloader
Thanks for all of your suggestions. After searching, I have found some ROMs that might be working for me:
* GingerXperia 22, 24/24b
* GingerDX
* ICS
* FroyoPro
* CyangenMod
* LinuXperia
* hyperOid
* MIUI
Based on other comments, gingerxperia seems to have better benchmark than GingerDX, so I gave it the first try. Unfortunately gingerxperia 24b did not work for me: I was stuck at the rebooting loop with gingerxperia logo and startup animation. Maybe I did something wrong. It even deleted my CWM recovery, so the only choice for me was to use PCCompanion to repair the phone back to stock ROM.
After that, I gave GingerDX a try, and now I am playing with it. At least GingerDX is a big step up from Froyo 2.2.1. I will try other ROMs as well and will report back.

Thanks my friend, I think I am happy with current stock-kernel ROMs. Once I find a need to go higher with android 3/4, I will try your service. Anyway, where is your page with the service?

Really? There's ics for stock kernel that's ok for everyday use on x8?
I know devstaff's making one but it's still in the beta stages.

I did. I did before AND after flashing the ROM. When rebooting, it said something like you have to reintall recovery otherwise you would not be able to get to recovery again, and I did. I guess that step deleted my CWM. Then I rebooted and got stuck in the startup screen. Cant get to recovery anymore.
I believe I did something wrong - I am totally newbie for this. Anyway, I will give it a try later. For now GingerDX is working quite well for me.

Might be this -> forum.android.com.pl/f257/kuya-ics-v5-stock-kernel-kontynuacja-kuyadroidv4-5-4-a-155870/ (sorry I am not allowed to post external links now)? I am surprised that no post in xda-developers mentions about it.

OK, for some reasons I cant get my GingerDX to have overlock enable, so I gave gingerXperia the second try, and now it works! It is 2.3.7, and the benchmark for the default system (without any modification) is about 1600 compared with about 1300 of GingerDX. I am playing with the OC settings now, but it seems that my max stable can only be 768 MHz (stock was 600 MHz), with the score ~ 2000.
my x8 her unlocked bootloader though 11W38 but I do not know may have been lucky. can try to stock kernel Shin7
Have U tryied XGin v6.2 very fast, stable and beautifull

your hardware simply cannot stand that oc. lower the frequency.
I have already tried it at 600 Mz
Then start over. Flash kernel again and reflash Rom and be sure to use compatible kernel and flash if there are any fixes to be flashed
