Yay! Thank you crawjr. You've been doing an awful lot around here man. Good works.
I think this really aught to go into the development section, it would get more attention and I think it fits the classification.

Thanks much! Samsung gives us a menu option of what log we want to narrow it down to but only as a radial button to pick one. I wish they would make it a checkbox option and the ability to pick multiple logs to show at the same time. That way people could customize for what THEY want to see.

great idea. Hrmm... I wonder. Is this something a dev could manage? I'm not savvy enough to work out anything like that.
Or even to just add to the stock selection list of:

Received calls

I linked to the wrong one. Its deodexed.
I am experiencing the same issue with force closes when using SMS. I am running
[Odin]Stock EH06 Deodexed with CWM 3.1.0.1/Root/Busybox 1.19/Working Browser and
[MOD]EH06/EG22/themed_8_lockscreens/StatusBar[MOD][Maddoggin][UPDATE 8/16/11] and [Hack] [EH06] [DEODEX]AIO MOD
Is there any way to REMOVE this fix? I'd rather have the SMSs in the log than have the FCs every time I hit the menu button.
And it did wipe out all of my logs when I flashed it.
I'm fully prepared to just ODIN EH06 again, but it would be nice if I didn't have to.
Of course I didn't do a backup before flashing this file.

Thanks. I'll keep that handy.
Since I hadn't done that much, I just used ODIN and started fresh.
I'm debating trying it again, because that phone log including SMS is really annoying. But so far, it's the only thing not working right for me.

Which 8 lock mod are you using? I had the problem with the clean blue version and I tried Shanes version from honeycomb and it still did it. Doesn't happen with his theme and I don't recall it happening on the stock version of 8 lock.

I'm using the mod for STOCK EH06-- EH06_stock_locks.zip
I thought that was the one I had to use, since there is no theme installed. But I'm realizing that if I had used another one, it would have installed that theme... correct?
I then flashed the AIO mod over that. So I still look kind of stock. Except for the themed GoLauncherEX.
Which I'm very pleased to say has working Gmail notifications, since the Stock ROM had Gmail 3.4.1.5 installed and I haven't updated to 3.5!! Yay me.

I'm having the same issue (almost). I'm using the stock deodexed verson from the link you posted. After flashing it, the dialer FC's when I try to open the logs tab. I'm totally stock minus bloatware with no mods or themes.
Have you been able to out what might be causing this? Or a work around? I found people with the same issue with eg22 but nothing about a fix.

there is a new ROM over on mydroidworld its by P3Droid and it has most of the stock blur removed..its pretty sweet if anyone wants to try it out..all credits go to the creater of the rom
Looks identical to Birdman. Meh
He pulled the same apk's. Identical. I appreciate the effort but we need something new.

This is a good rom for those that haven't already manually removed all of the bloatware themselves. Otherwise, nothing special. Atleast yet.

I never bothered upgrading to birdman since I had already removed most of the junk myself so it just didn't seem like a good enough reason to wipe. This rom on other hand does not require a wipe and it is nice to have the stock message app as well.
I updated to tranquility, because it was deodexed and I had not yet done that. Now I was able to use the black status bar with white text. No major differences from stock than that and removal of a lot of blur.

A lot of blur can be removed, you just have to have applications to take their places. And it has to be able to work without blur supporting it. That's what these ROMs are so far. They're either floating over blur or taking over certain components of it.
Most of us however are waiting for a vanilla build heh.

Version 1.5rc: Update.
Original Launcher 2 fixed (phone button and orientation sensor)
Developement app fixed (Terminal now included and fixed)
Calculater from source, (Just because I like source, the other worked fine)
Calendar updated (now it syncs with google calendars)
but apparently there are still a few little bugs some are reporting.
AndroidCentral has a version of Google talk that allows you to video call but you must have gingerbread. Can anyone port this over 2.2 can support it?

Could attempt it on a test build on CM7, works there from what it looks like.
Just wanted to chime in here on the subject.
Did some searching today and it lead me to the threat linked above, downloaded and flashed through rom manager. First boot took a bit longer than it usually does, thought I got stuck in a boot loop. However, I can confirm this works on the lates pre-alpha cm build!
I had to create another google account to test it out, but low and behold it actually works!
I didn't see any other posts in the thunderbolt forum acknowledging this so I thought I would let you all know.
A family member of mine has a stock tbolt and I got the latest BAMF GB Tom on mine. She texted me today and by her info in the text I had the green video camera. I hit it, it called her and I could see and hear her. She doesn't live in a 4g area nor hooked up to wifi at the moment, but for whatever reason, like I said I could see her and hear just fine. So looks like it might work from 2.2 to 2.3 with better circumstances. Hopes this helps.

I finally got gtalk video and audio working for two way calls on gingerbread
The solution has been out, but I guess I just didn't do a good job of googling. Flash this Google Package File in recovery after wiping cache and davlik.
You can also just read the thread where I got it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793. The same file is listed under "to install" step#2, Alternate3.
After installing this, my Gmail app was missing so I installed it from the market. I had to install the thing twice before it finally worked b/c it force closed on me with the first install.
I haven't tested the calls on wifi yet, but it was clear on 3g. Only gripe I have is that the camera view is rotated.

Yes, I know I could just install a custom ROM. But I'm just looking for the quick fix. I heard the latest OTA breaks root and makes it harder to root or impossible. Just want to get rid of the notifications for now.
Alternatively, does anyone have the build.prop from the OTA that I could just copy over so the phone thinks it's updated?
It requires more than just a build.prop edit.

You asked what to modify in the build.prop. I answered your question. No need for the smart alec secret society comment. This is a pretty chill group of people that will do anything for anybody. Thanks! Bluetooth isn't a big deal.
Since renaming MobileUpdateClient.apk to .bak it looks like I'm going to get a serious boost in battery life. Since doing this, 3 hours ago, I've only lost 5% of battery. I would usually lose around 10% every hour. Maybe BT has something to do with poor battery life on this phone? I don't know, but it's worth looking into. I hope it's the case.
On a side note, you may want to reboot after update, or do what I did and try to enable BT. When you try to enable BT it will act like it resets the phone sort of like a soft boot. Phone feels lighter too....lol jk.
I know many people love the quick reply feature of CM messaging app. Well now TW users can sort of enjoy that also!
1. Download Floating Notifications (AWESOME app developed by XDA member @crazyfool_1).
1B. Enable FLoating Notifications in accessibility (you will be prompted to do this anyway).1C. Make sure you are on version 1.5.0.2 (main menu of Floating Notifications app... More--->About) and have a card named "Extensions".2. Download Floating Notifications SMS Extension (keep in mind this is still in alpha stage!).
2B. Request to be in the alpha testing group for SMS Extension. If that link doesn't work, then GO HERE and on the left click on the "Extensions" tab.3. Push the SMS Extension APK to system/apps & set permissions (RW-R-R).
4. Reboot.
5. Go to Floating Notifications and then into extensions, then check SMS Extension.
6. Go into settings check "quick reply overlay" to ON.
7. You now have quick reply for TW messaging app (or whatever messaging app you use it will work for!) and you can also mark as read as well!

You can if you goto developer options and check force RTL. The only downside is that it flips everything to a RH laylout.

Many roms customize the system files to provide you with different features. As a result, replacing them with stock files can get those fcs. I may be able to take a look later tonight to get a working version for you.
