Hi there!!! does anyone know when we will have android 2.3 on our precious phones ? or, it is confirmed that we will have gingerbread? on gsmarena, in phone specification it says that the phone have android 2.2 updatable to 2.3, wich means that gingerbread is available. That depends. No need for a2dp, then CM7 is the way to go. If you need a2dp then GR2 is the best.

Using cm7 for 6 weeks, it is a far better rom than original one. Very smooth, no bsod, but some fonctions are missing as said before. Don't forget to backup your contacts and so before changing.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA Premium App
Please tell me what are the functions that doesen,t work with cm7. If i will instal this rom, when the oficial update will be released, i will be able to update my phone with cm7 rom installed?

A2DP and FM radio are a couple of things not working. Kinda miss the first one, but even though, CM still do rule.

Install MIUI or CM7. Allmost everything works.

I'm starting a campaign to tweet LG every day with "Warning: DON'T BUY LG their service is awful. "worlds first dual-core phone" they are refusing to update software for is useless @LGBlogUK"
Will also post on every one of their facebook posts a similar note.
If everyone else does the same then it might shame them into getting off their arses and doing something about it. I doubt it but worth a try.

Just curious as to perhaps what will be the last version of android everyone thinks we will see for captivate? 2.2? 2.3? Hell even 2.4 or 5? Usually you can only go so far because of outdated hardware right?

No way of knowing.
With the dual core smartphone lineup being rolled out, I don't think to many people will go through the effort of porting new software on outdated hardware. Na mean, son?

Agreed, KB1 FROYO will be the last official update for the Captivate.
I know these are just opinions, but that would be a real let down on Samsungs part. Putting out a great phone and only giving it one major update x months late, then pulling the plug. At least give it one last great update before its viking funeral. For a total of two lol...i know what some of you were thinking of saying that 2.2 was THAT update.

I guess for the o2x are more roms available. Its a realy nice phone actually!

O2X for now.
Samsung phones have advantage as they release some source codes.
The best is to check cyanogen's website, if there is a cyanogen the phone is usually well supported by devs.
We have cyanogen for arc its just complications thats all
If I get LG o2x all I need to do is root then cmw then put a Rom on is it that easy or have u got to open bootloader or any thing
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
I thought xperia arc's cyanogen was ported by someone else?
Locked bootloader is a bad idea for a flasholic
For Optimus Black, it is still fairly new; but the bootloader isn't locked so it shouldn't have major issues.
Arc -> Black looks like a major downgrade to me
STAY AWAY FROM LG !!
If you are flashaholic, HTC is the way. Or Samsung. Or anything else...
DO NOT BUY LG!
Why not? I think that if you do want to flash different ROM's, then LG O2X is a great phone. It's the stock rom that's causing trouble.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using Tapatalk
i recommend you to try the lg optimus 2x. is by two time much powerful and open to the development then lg Black.
Is LG really that bad I like HTC alot coming from dhd but just fancy a change
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
And wont the o2x be outdated and old soon its been out a while and dont want to buy if development just slows to a holt
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
Just go and try it, my LG is the best phone i ever had (O2X)..
Ive had an LG Renoir too, that was my 2nd best i think..
I think O2X is the best because tegra2 inside

Compared to Black it is "newer", if you think about the hardware. If you are thinking of release-date, Black is newer - but not on the inside.
Yea I was thinking more the hardware side of Things

Hey dudes i am planning to exchange my hd7 with mango custom rom(2 month old phone) with an lg optimus 2x (1 month old) by paying some extra bucks of about 80 dollars( 4000 indian rupees ). Do i should do that? the reason is purely hardware and the plentiful apps availability for android. Though i love hd7, i need some more freedom, which windows never allowed me.
Please post your opinion.

We wont get ICS! This phone is great other than the lack of support from LGs technical department! Phone works very well on a custom rom!

So well dudes, i like custom rom, my wildfire runs on cm7 latest nightly. But what about installing it? Is it hard, i mean crackikng boot loader/ security etc? And what about cm7 on 2x, is it nice or gives hell of problems?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
It's as easy to install as it is on the Blade, pretty much everything is functional bar FM radio.
Well i am yet to flash my Rom but the stock sucks..and have heard the custom Rom are good and with custom kernels like neoblaze u can overclock ur device as well.... dunno how hd7 is..never used it..

Thinking I will claim my LG Thrill as lost/stolen, pay the deductible for a new LG Thrill and donate my current LG Thrill to a well known developer that doesn't have the phone so you can root this darn thing and build us some roms!! Any takers??

I have to have this phone for 2 years and i want custom roms darnit! I came from a HD2 which had me flashing something different at least twice a week, i was a flashaholic. I'm literally feanin to mod my phone.

Check out this thread... this is the best ROM I've found so far. CM7 nightlies are fast and smooth but they are buggy...

You should post this in the general general forum might get more ppl interested
Putting a CM7 Rom on the LG Thrill is pretty much pointless since you lose all the 3D capabilities of the phone which were the selling point of this device.

That's exactly why I went to Biohazard Kitchen ROM... it works GREAT. I've had 0 reboots, no ghost calls, everything seems to work perfectly.
I have yet to update my Thrill to GB yet .. only because over heard inconsistent reviews about it. Basically I'm trying to see anyone's opinion on the new GB update for the Thrill if they have done it. What have improved? Changed? IS IT WORTH IT?

Do it and install the acidhazard rom. Really good!

I will check it out. I don't think my flashing skill are up to par yet. I figured out how to root and over clock, ad free, clear cache, and improve over all functioning of my phone, but o haven't tried flashlight it yet. I'm going to have to do some research and see how to do it. Do u have any website on ROMs and flaying them to that I can learn fro?

It made a world of difference to me. I sold my thrill months ago because the battery life and overall lack of dev support. The day I heard the GB update was out, and it improved battery life, I started looking for another one. Now I've got another one and couldn't be happier.
