[Q] i have several newbie questions

1st how can i know if may tab what kind isa may tab
model number: gt-p1010
firmware version: 2.2.1
kernel version: 2.6.32.9 root DELL104 # 1
Build number: FROYO DXKB6
2nd is there any custom rom or over clocking for these. please give me a link
3rd how can i do that, does the method on p1000 apply here?
im sorry if have many question i just bought my tab-wifi only 1week ago

First its a wifi only galaxy tab with DXKB6 firmware froyo os.
2nd I dont think there is a custom rom yet. Its a fairly new tab. Head to gsm development section and search. Official roms are there.
3rd flashing instructions usually come with the custom rom.

Is there an official ICS release for Galaxy tab 10.1 WIFI ?

I just bought an original 10.1 and was wondering if samsung has release ICS fro this yet and if so how can it be tretrieved. Everytime I rucn a check for updates I get it's current.

Noob Trying to Upgrade

Hey guys! So I'm completely new at this and I was wondering if you guys could help me out a bit. I have a Samsung Galaxy Mini SGH-T449Y and I wanted to upgrade to the latest android version. Currently I have a android version 2.2.2 and I tried to upgrade it through Samsung Kies but it said I had the latest *official* upgrade. I've looked in the threads but most of it seems like its for Galaxy mini Pop users. Is there a version specific for sgh-t449Y or do the upgrades work for every kind of galaxy mini?

First of all, galaxy mini = galaxy pop. They are the same. Next, just go to a thread that teaches you how to flash to 2.3.x. You have to do it via Odin not Kies. And the upgrades work for all, although it's recommended that u upgrade to the firmware for your country/area.

I would like to root it. I have gone through search whole forum through search option, I could not find the compatible odin toolkit for this baseband.
I would really appreicate if you could point me out or give me the link to follow the rooting process for my SGN.

samsung galaxy s3 mini update help

hello everyone
i like to start of with sayin hello to everyone and appreciate all the help i receive.
i have a Samsung galaxy s3 mini for 2yr and im in uk and i been seeing other phones running newer firmwares like lollipop and it feels and looks nice and would like it on mine. My s3 mini is currently running android version 4.1.2 and its been like that since new and doubt it get any updates now,
can i update this to a newer firmware please and a step by step process thanks as ok ish with phones know basic stuff but not a genius.

yes you can. the phone will need to be rooted, custom recovery installed & a couple of other tools on pc,ie odin. there are many great guides & tutorials in these forums, so have a look around, read a little learn a lot, like we all did. decide on which rom works the best for you and go with that one(that will be the best rom),dont ask!!!!!. follow all instructions carefully & most of all...enjoy the ride... if you have any difficulty then just ask

I'm typing this from my s3 mini. It has been rooted with kingroot the rooting is ok now needed to allow permission.
So it's ok for a Uk Samsung galaxy s3 mini be updated to later firmware. I read couple guides on here with the cynam rom.
Has is got to be done by odin?.
I also read that can be done with rom manager app is this true?.
What is the latest and stable firmware for samsung galaxy s3 mini GT- i8190n?
Also erm What's a kernel and has that got to be done?
On the downloads page I choose my model and cyamogen then is it recovery or odin I download?
