I have Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 with Android version - 4.0.4, Baseband - N7000DDLR1, Build No: IMM76D.DDLRB
I would like to root it. I have gone through search whole forum through search option, I could not find the compatible odin toolkit for this baseband.

Dear rookie
First of all - read the stickies here. And, use SEARCH button. Typically... I would write here something absolutely sarcastic, harsh and with specific to me sense of humor, but.. it is your first step here, so... be welcomed here and use this tutorial
Welcome
I used odin to root my galaxy s. Search Google for the stock 2.3.5 firmware. Flash that via odin. There will be a tutorial floating about. Then download the gingerbread rooting package using same method. After your done you'll be rooted and on the latest official firmware. From there you can flash custom roms or whatever. I hope this is some help.

thanks guys =)
Cheers!
Thanks all done =) rooted my SGS.
I am beginner in Android + root.
I was using G-Note (GT-N7000) with kernel JPKK2. And I have been rooted with the help of Unlock Root. But, recently I got a new update JPLA1 and I lost my root access. I tried the same Unlock Root utility and zergRush, unfortunately no luck.
So anyone can explain how to root again my G-Note with step by step instruction as I am beginner

You are not able to get root on KL7/KL8/LA1 or newer. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
If you want to gain root you have to reflash an older stock rom via odin.
See post 2 and 3 of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
It's very well explained and works great! Just follow every step.
So which is the latest Rom that you will recommend for me. I prefer Rom for Middle east or India. Advise please...

One more stupid query; for example If I choose Indian ROM that will support almost Indian languages, right? and that Indian ROM will support even middle east GSM carrier?
Advise please...

I would say "Yes" and "Yes".
So I think you're indian and for sure you have to use the indian firmware.
I don't know about any issues relating to the GSM carrier.
I update Indian ROM from Dr.ketan's link. And working fine now. And I root again. Many thanks.
And hope I will get the updates from this series Rom, even if am outside the India. Right?

Hey guys,
This is my first post on these forums. I have a stock Vodafone NZ Samsung Galaxy S i9000 and am wanting to root it and install CM9 on it but have no experience whatsoever with this sort of thing so a bit of help would be greatly appreciated.
I found this post on rooting a Galaxy S but had trouble trying to understand exactly what I was supposed to do and which file to download.
I'm hoping someone here wouldn't mind directing me to the right files and explain what exactly I'm supposed to do to root my phone and then install the new ROM?

Hello all,
I have read many posts about rooting the phone above but am confused.
All i want to do is root the phone and keep the original rom.
If i root it then update to 4.1.2 jellybean when its released for my phone do i have to root it again?
I really need to know step by step the process so i dont mess it up.
Firstly i beleive i need to backup my iemi is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946915 the correct procedure?
I then save that file it generates incase i need to restore is this correct?
I was then going to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125414 but am confused where it says "Flash an Insecure Kernel before using Samsung Quick Root".
Where do i find an insecure kernal for the above phone?
I then read about ClockworkMod Recovery what does this do and should i use it?
Can someone please help me step by step as im really new to Android.
Sorry for so many questions but coming from years having an iphone to Android its like wow.
Cheers and thanks in advance.

Absolutely everything you need to know is in there.
I would only use methods that are intended for i9305.

Obagleyfreer i read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32235061&postcount=1 and unsure of part 13.
I want to root but just keep the standard rom that the phone came with.
Also if i update to 4.1.2 jellybean do i need to backup and root again?
You just need to flash the zip that's linked in part 13 to get root access.
You do this in CWM recovery.

Hi
Seems like you ar pretty novice to this.
If you root you cant update to latest from Settings -》About -》 Update. Root makes it imposible that way.
Instead you have to flash the latest rom from www.sammobile.com using Odin (windows) and rootvit again.
Or you wait till some one kind pre roots the rom and makes it flashable through Clockworkmod (easiest way)
All the strange words you have to look up your self.

Ok i check www.sammobile.com and i dont see a version of 4.1.2 jellybean for my phone.
Will the international versions of 4.1.2 work on my phone?
Will they have bloatware or carrier logos?
When i flash a rom do i have to flash the modem as well?
Can i just flash rom over rom or should i clean the cache first?

Its not released yet for every country. I dont find it for sweden either.
And you can expect the same thing from updated rom as the rom you are on now.
The roms from sammobile is only for your country becaus it contains the proper modem and apn info for your country and carrier.
As I said before best way to get a rooted and neat rom is letting the experts in xda compile a version that is flashable through cwm.
Look in the description if modem is included.
Hi there! I apologise for the question as you probably get this a lot.
I can't find a clear and concise tutorial (that i can understand) on how to root my Galaxy S and its specific version.
Can anyone help me and point me in the right direction?
I am not entirely new to rooting as i've rooted my GS3 fairly easily, this however seems more difficult.
Here are my phones information:
Firmware Version 2.1-update1
Baseband Version I9000XXJM1
Kernel Version 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build number ECLAIR.I9000XXJM1
I understand I have to download a kernel of some kind so I can root in within ODIN...however there are so many CF versions I am really stuck
Thankyou in advance and a quick reply would truly be appreciated. Thankyou!
Ok...You are still in froyo so you have to update to gingerbread 2.3.3 then you have to install the "JW4_JW4_JW4" value pack that will update your i9000 to 2.3.6, only now you can flash a rooted kernel..

FYI 2.1 is eclair, not froyo. That's 2.2
Rooting Eclair is easy as hell. Just use the one click root tool.
