Any developer here need a Sanyo Zio? - Kyocera Zio M6000

So I upgraded my mother to an EVO 4G and she had the Sanyo Zio. If anyone that is developing for this device needs one that works perfectly just shoot me an offer for it. It will come with the box etc, cases, & cables. It is the SPRINT ZIO.
Thanks,
Michael

I've got a cricKet ZIO I need to move. Cheap. I bought a Moto Droid and flashed it to cricKet myself (I got 3G working, but my ROM doesn't support MMS). The package comes with the phone (which has a screen cover) and the drivers CD/box/manuals if needed. I can't exactly provide the data cable/wall charger because I bought my Droid without any cables. I'm giving XDA the chance to pick it up sooner and cheaper than the rest of the 'net, so shoot me an offer if you're interested.
EDIT: I sold it. Made a cool $60.

Anyone been able to get a different phone from Verizon for data/signal issues?

I've been having so many issues w/ data and signal, im just wondering if I put enough pressure is there any way I could get Verizon to give me a different phone?
My phone is close to unusable how often I don't have signal and im just really tired of it..

Well the update from Moto is suppose to fix this issues, so Verizon may make you wait til you receive the update before looking into swapping a phone for you.
The Restart Connections app from the market doesn't work for you? It works for me about 90% of the time when I lose my signal. Rarely I will have to reboot to get signal back.

I haven't tried that, ill try it but they promised me an update by early nov, and they've given me already 2 months of free service. I dont care about getting free service id rather pay instead of the hassle... I was just thinking they might since there highest level of support saying it was a known issue they were responsible for and had moto working on an update. Sucks I paid full retail on launch day and have only had problems..

I take it you can only complain to Verizon if you bought the device from them.

Yea Verizon definitely knows of the problems. Its common. Verizon will eventually offer you a new phone but it may not be something you want. If the problem isn't fixed after the update and they persist they will probably offer some better replacements.
I don't really have a big problem with connection but it is there. Some days it doesn't happen at all. Someone on another forum said they received an update from Moto already, so hopefully they start rolling out soon.

I actually have a new one arriving today. My data loss is horrible. It will show full bars (3g and 4g) but the second I go to do something the data will drop. Extremely frustrating and annoying. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a refurb but if it holds data better I'm ok.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that is the FIRST time I've ever done a warranty replacement in 6 years with Verizon. Wasn't terribly difficult...

If you just got another Bionic, your problems aren't going to go away. I got my warranty replacement last week; same issues.
They did offer me a new phone; anything but the Razr. Considering I not only bought the phone at launch, but bought a couple hundred dollars in accessories...I want the phone to work as advertised; not a new phone.
Well the week before Thanksgiving I was actually sucessful of having the store giving me an actual off the floor replacement. Up until that time I have taken my phone into 4 different corporate stores in and around Cincinnati and each time The associate looked at the phone and just ordered their "certified like new" replacement shipped to my home. Now I want you all to know these "certified" units were nothing more than returns to VZW from others that are experiencing the same thing. I went out of my way to take the phone into the closest store when I experienced either the loss of data or the BSOD situation.
This time I tried something different which got me a brand new phone..not sure what pushed them over the edge though....On the 23rd of November I got the dead BSOD and immediately took the phone back to the origional store which I purchased it on the 12th of September and cornered my origional salesperson explaining that I have had four replacements...I sternly request for him to correct this problem WITHOUT pulling the battery....The store was moderately heavy with customers who had a ear tuned to my complaint. He was insistant that he had to pull the battery after plugging in a charger...I loudly told him to stop and demanded for customer service to be put on the line because I insisted pulling the battery was going to do nothing more than set me up with a return trip. He told me that all customer service was going to do is issue out another "certified" unit...Loudly I protested that this has to come to an end because all of the screen protectors he had sold me during the origional purchase are now gone and the battery life is degrading fast due to the constantly seeking for data problem. Everybody knows VZW does not ship a new battery or battery door with these "certified" units ( of course). As I would not budge on the "certified" route because my battery and battery door was showing signs of premature wear...the manager stepped in and allowed me to turn in my unit for another right out of the box...printed out a receipt for the return full price and then gave me a new receipt with the same price but with the november date. He told the associate to mark the unit defective screen out of box. Now he didnt allow me to have the new battery or door BUT I got a new unit which I am happy to report has not had a hiccup since...knock on wood. BUT BE FOR WARNED...if you are sucessful at getting a off the floor exchange...check your account because the billing dept of VZW thinks this is a upgrade and will sneak a updated contract date in on your account....It took two calls into customer service to explain to them this was not an upgrade and after they tell you that it has been noted....TAKE THE TIME to check online your contract date is put back to the origional date.
After a little bit of work I am a happy Bionic VZW customer
Have you guys tried the SIM pull trick? My Bionic has not had a data problem since. I did this over a month ago.
1) turn off Bionic and pull SIM
2) power on the bionic and open phone. It will state the SIM is missing.
3)turn off the Bionic and insert SIM
You will need a pair of fine tweezers for this.

This won't help if you need the 4G throughput (for hotspot, etc), but my data connection is rock solid on the go if i choose CDMA Only mode under Mobile Networks.
I've taken to changing to LTE Only mode in the field testing interface (##PROGRAM) when I need to use LTE throughput for hotspot, and that, too, is rock solid. The problem seems to occur for me only when it's switching between CDMA and LTE.

Pulling the SIM did nothing for me, unfortunately. I'd demand a new (and different) phone, but I spent about $150 on accessories and don't want to unload those for pennies on FleaBay.
Its all 4g phones. If u want reliable service. Switch back to a 3g only device. After 3 Droid charges, Verizon sent me this bionic. .. still having issues. Just gotta get use to it

Pulling Sim worked at first but its gotten so bad it doesn't work as well anymore. I tried to get vzw to give me a diff phone but they wouldn't budge only offer me a refurb which I don't want after paying 700 full retail plus 150 in accessories.
And no not all 4g, my thunderbolt never gave me connectivity issues..

New phone for smartphone newbie

So, my girlfriend wants a new phone. She just wants a basic texting phone, she hates touchscreen because she has the older style non capacative style. She didn't seem to mind the capacative ones much but don't think she wanted to admit it as she has always cussed out the smartphones. She really got attached to the 3d phone, and the white GSII. Probably because I told her it was a good phone.
She is on ATT and has an upgrade available, what phones do you suggest? posibly one that wont break the bank incase she doesnt like it.
The skyrocket is 149$ if you are in one of AT&T s "soon to get LTE" markets (like I am) just input your zip code when browsing at&t website for the phone.
Otherwise the Focus Flash (I think that's what it's called) was a dollar the other day (also Samsung, but Win phone 7)
Or a 3Gs for 99 cents.

Warranty return through Verizon or motorola?

I need to send my phone in to be repaired/replaced under warranty. Anyone know if there are any advantages/disadvantages to returning through a Verizon store versus sending to Motorola?

Verizon eould be much faster and im pretty sure moto would make you send you phone in as Verizon would let you keep it until new phone arrives

ive been having data issues + this weird 'clicking' sound during calls. i've had my bionic replaced twice(verizon did it as i have their "total equipment coverage").
anyway, i'm still having issues so they've now offered to replace the phone again + said i can buy a new phone at an upgrade price.
I second the Verizon notion

Verizon return
I have not personally returned a phone, but all that I have read, everyone takes theirs back to Verizon.
Moto: repairs device
Verizon:replaces device
I have sent my phone to both companies..with motorola you have to pay for the repair, while with Verizon ive never had to pay for any damages on the cracked screen on the bionic I sent them..because I never told them, thus I didnt get charged and this happened about 2 months ago so it wouldve shown up by now
Just call Verizon and BS some technical problem and get a free replacement..been doing that since my D1

Take it to the Verizon store you bought it at. They might be able swap you out there. You keep your SD card, battery, and back cover and they just switch the phone. I used to take my Droid Eris in and have it replaced.

Just a follow-up in case anyone else faces this issue.
I did decide to use Verizon's return. I took it to the local Verizon store (and not the one I actually purchased the phone from as I was out of town when I bought it) and they had a new (well, I imagine actually a re-furbed) phone Fed-Ex'ed to my house. It apparently will come with a mailer to send the current phone back. So I get to use my current phone until the replacement arrives.
Motorola's warranty service would have required me to send the phone to motorola, and wait an estimated 5 - 7 days for them to repair and return it to me. I think using Verizon was much better as this group had suggested. Thanks!

I believe that the Verizon stores stopped having replacement phones in stock so they now order it for you and will be there in 2-4 days. They used to swap you out in the store but my local store said they stopped carrying the extra stock.

Jumping ship :(

In the midst of fighting with verizon over getting a working revo i jumped ship and bought a Moto RAZR on craigstlist for cheap. I appreciate all the help y'all have given over the last year and how hard everyone(especially mtmichaelson) has fought to make the revo a damn good phone. I have to admit, after tasting ics, gingerbread is just bland! Thanks again guys, and good luck on keeping the revo at least moderately caught up in the wake of all the new JB and ICS phones on the market!
I'm almost about ready to do the same. It's weird how this phone is a little over a year old and already obsolete.

I'm looking at jumping ship as well and buying a Droid 4. I know it uses a microsim and ours uses a full sim card. Do I need to do anything other than cut it down to micro size or will it just work when I stick it in the new phone? Do I need to contact Verizon for activation or anything? Thanks.

Micro is a completely different size and card. You would have to contact Verizon. You can go into a corporate store also. They have extras they can activate for you. Last I knew they were free with a sales pitch for an add a line our upgrade lol.

Haha, yeah. I'm sure there would be a sales pitch. lol Definitely.
Thanks for your answer but are you sure about the card? I've read that as long as you keep the circuitry and contact points intact cutting a sim down to a micro sim will still function. Or is there yet another kind of card I'm getting this confused with?
I recall seeing a how-to cut down the SIM card quite a few months ago. A video even. I'm certain Google would point you to something useful.

I did the same thing. Picked up a galaxy nexus off of craigslist for pretty cheap. After owning the original droid I'm happy to be back to vanilla android (ICS this time). My revo had become way to slow for my liking, even with mtmichaelson's rom (which made it way better than stock).
I destroyed verizon. Revo out. Samsung Galaxy S3 to replace. for free.
This is my wife's phone and we've had it for about 6-7 months. I rooted it, ROM'd it (1st Gingervolt, then Broken Out). I'm on the latest firmware update, and again rooted and flashed Broken Out. All throughout, there were issues with bluetooth, Vibe of Death, screen freezes.
I complained just the other day - hey it was Sunday on Labor Day weekend and I had a moment. 1st Verizon rep was willing to send a replacement Revo. I told her that was unacceptable, that all the forums I've read detail that the defects I've cited are baked into the phone, it is a lemon and should be recalled and that sending me the same lemony phone was unacceptable. I urged her to elevate my claim. I was insistent and was really quite angry that she was not getting it.
I then spoke with a really great rep - technical support - to whom I mentioned all I had done (except for rooting and flashing a rom) and truthfully told her that I had upgraded to latest firmware and still had screen freezes and bluetooth problems. I told her about what I read on the forums and how the phone is just fatally flawed. I also mentioned 20 years as a Verizon cell phone customer, my family plan with 5 phones, all with data, and that what I was asking for - a different model replacement phone - was neither outrageous nor unexpected.
She asked what phone would I prefer. I first said a Razr, but said the Galaxy S3 would be great, but I doubt they'd substitute. Without a moment of delay, she said I could have the Galaxy S3 and what color, blue or white... It was shipped immediately and we are awaiting it.
So pretty soon, on ebay, you are going to see our used LG Revolution...
The moral of this story is get past the first level of customer support and stand your ground. insist on a replacement. Tell them that the Revolution is a huge disappointment and does not provide the basic functions a phone should.
Man...i wish my experience with trying to get different phones was better... I did the same thing, insisted that i would rather go to another service than get a revo back... They didnt give a rats ass... The only reason i'm still with verizon is due to the razr i found for dirt cheap. ICS is so nice in comparison!

This phone was obsolete when it was released honestly. The Droid Charge came out before it and was a better phone for the most part. The only reason I bought it was for the unlocked bootloader but I guess none of the Android developers did because we only had limited development (not a knock against the people who did develop, but for all the developers who complained about locked bootloaders and then didn't jump on one that was unlocked)
