Very BIG problem with password - LG Optimus Black

Hi Guys, i've got a very big problem with my LG OB i want to install new firmware so I click on my dialer 3845#*970# and do factory reset, when my phone reboot i've got a password, when im on lockscreen and i slide up to unlock my phone says me "Enter password to unlock" but I didn't set any password and i don't know it. I install new firmware by KDZ but after reboot there is still password. Please help me !!!! What I have to do to clear totaly my phone, because now I can't unlock it !!!! Thanks a lot for help.

Try typing "0000" since it's the default for passwords.

No, it doesen't work. I've read that I can do factory reset but I don't know how if I can't go to the menu because I'm on lockscreen.

Any ideas ?

If i were you, i'd use the USB and Volume + to do a factory reset.

It is not FACTORY RESET ! It is just flash...
There's no other way to do a Factory Reset (wipe data partition) other than 3845#*970# or enter Recovery. But as we all already know, there's no key combination to boot directly into Recovery Mode.
BUT, if you have enabled USB Debugging. connect phone to PC and use ADB, and type: adb reboot recovery. This should help.

I can't use my phone!

Hi my phone is unuseable now...
Everytime the messege Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stpped. Try again pops up.
I can't (or just don't now how to) enter recovery.
I also can't go to settings because the message pops up every 2 seconds.
When I click Force Close it goes back to the launcher.
Can I do a factory reset (I think it is solved then)?
How do I do that?

I'm rather sure you only have Recovery if you installed CWM. Than just press power long and select it from that menu.

Thanks but I dind't have installed CWM yet. If i press power long it'll just boot and shut down and boot again (because it is forced power off during the boot)...
Press volume - (not +) button and power button same time for a while...you get into factory reset mode...
then you can have options and proceed

There might be simpler ways but that will help definitly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21472502&postcount=1
A simple Factory Reset would probably be enough but when you can't do it.
i think there is factory reset in secret menu

What ROM do you have installed? A stock one, or a custom ROM?
Infact in both ways you can do a factory reset by:
Plug in USB cable, enable usb debugging (if you have a custom ROM, it always should be on),
download the adb package from my noob how to (see attachments)
cd to the directory containing the adb files, type:
adb reboot recovery
Now you either are in CWM and can do the wipes 1 by 1, or if you have a stock ROM, it will perform
a factory reset right away
If all of that doesnt work, you have to use smartflashtool!

[Q][HELP] I cant do a factory reset and other problems [S3Mini I8190L]

Hi guys!! well im here again, whit a huge, HUGE problem in my S3 Mini [I8190L]
I want to wipe /Data (factory reset) but I tryed in all ways I know but it doenst work!
First at all, i have a crazy problem with my recovery mode.. I tryed with two recoverys, TWRP 2.8 and CWM and this is what happens:
Whit TWRP : after press VOL+ HOME and POWER buttons, I get the TWRP intro image and few seconds after my phone auto reboot so I cant enter in recovery mode with TWRP
Whit CWM : after press VOL+ HOME and Power buttons I can enter in recovery mode, I CAN WIPE /CACHE, but when i select the wipe /Data option, the process starts and 2 seconds after my phone auto reboot
Well, backing at the main problem, i tryed the easy way for the factory reset => Settings - backup & reset - factory data reset Option
and when the phone reboot, i get a black screen after the white letters from S3Mini.
I can fix that black screen by two ways :
flashing PARAM with odin
connecting my phone when it is in that black screen to my pc, open a little tool called "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" and send the command "adb reboot bootloader"(note: my phone reboot but just in normal mode i dont know why)
In both cases my phone reboot, and it starts again in normal mode, loading android correctly. but EVERYTHING IS LIKE BEFORE, nothing changes, all my data is there, no factory reset :crying::crying:
As a last option, searching in forums I found a tool called "Universal ADB Helper", which send to the phone, by PC, adb commands for a lots of things. Well, setting my phone in USB debugging mode, the first command to send is for rebooting in bootloader mode, but my phone reboot IN NORMAL MODE all the times!! ONLY DOING THE 3 BUTTONS THING I CAN GET THE BOOTLOADER MODE, and doing that, the tool doenst recognizes my phone anymore, so I cant send to it more adb commands!!!
I think the only way that i have for wipe all my data is by Odin, but i dont know how. Also I would like to fix my recovery mode.. i dont care if i have to wipe ALL partitions and re-flash one by one. I hoppe somebody can help me in this trouble.
note: I dont know if this has something to do but, when i go to Settings- Storage for see the internal storage structure, my phone auto reboot
note2: SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!!!
THANKS U ALL.
SOLVED!!
Well guys really really thanks u for the big help [Insert Sarcasm here]
I was looking in other places and i found the solution.
I flashed whit Odin a PIT file for the I8190L model and the stock firmware and it works!!
Recovery mode was restored and i was able to wipe /Data. The next step was just flash CM 12.1 and done!!
(note: i think /Data partition was corrupted... but well, who cares)
Ty again for ur answers and help...... LOL. Cya guys
Try to install official ROM make sure file is not corrupted.

No need to type in Google password upon factory reset?

A proper factory reset should always result in effectively a "new" phone AFAIK, meaning you should have to sign into your google account (and always has for me). If your google account and lock screen code are still present, this would imply it's not a complete factory reset, so how are you factory resetting the phone? Are you rooted/twrp?

To do the factory reset i have to type in the lock screen code and then the reset begins. So the only layer of security is that i have to type the lock screen code. When setting up the phone again im not asked to write any password. I get the option to sign into a Huawei account or a Google account (same option you get when buying the phone from the store). In what step would i need to fill in the Google account password? Im not rooted or anything like that.

Which bit of settings are you accessing to reset the phone? Should be...
Settings, Advanced Settings, Backup & Reset, Factory Data Reset, Reset Phone
Or via Recovery...
Power off the phone
Next, press and hold the Volume Up + Power button at the same time for a few seconds
Release the keys as soon as the Huawei logo appears on the screen.
Use the Volume buttons to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and confirm with the Power key
Once more choose "wipe data/factory reset" from the menu and accept it with Power key
Now accept the "reboot system now" option by using Power key again.
Either way should result in a wiped phone with no lockscreen or google passwords stored.

Thats what im trying to say, lockscreen or google passwords arent stored after factory reset. Im saying that the only security i need to go through to factory reset is to type in the screen lock code. Factory data reset > Reset phone > screen lock code needed > phone gets the factory reset. Im wondering how i can enable the phone to requerie the Google account password if its being factory reset by someone else.

Ah, I get you.
Not possible without a custom rom AFAIK and even then I doubt that would be high on the list of customizations!
Pointless anyway as you can hard reset via recovery which needs neither lockscreen or google password

I thought this was one of the new fancy security features from Google so it would be impossible to use a stolen phone. Same as the Apple-devices have. I must have been mistaken Thanks for clearifying though!

Hmm... I think you're talking about Factory Reset Protection, which needs you to log into your google account after a factory reset. https://www.androidcentral.com/factory-reset-protection-what-you-need-know
You don't need the google password to reset, but you do afterwords.
Don't know/recall if this was active on the P10 though.

Phone stuck in factory reset loop

Hey Guys,
I unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP in order to try to upgrade to Oreo.
After a while i decided to just stop with it and leave it stock.
I relocked the bootloader, but now it is hangs at 99% factory reset. Rebooting the phone just brings it back to factory reset.
How do i get in to Fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader again and see if it will just boot up?
Tried different key combo's but it only boots in to the factory reset procedure.....
1. Connect the usb cable already with the pc
2. Press and hold vol- and the power button
3. Connect the phone with the pc when the screen turns black
4. Still hold the buttons until you can see the fastboot screen

Thanks! But i already tried that. Does not work. Always goes to Factory Reset.
Will let the battery drain for now and see what it does then.
i think you flashed the oreo compatible twrp on your phone this makes your nougat phone stuck in boot loop. Try to flash the nougat compatible twrp or try the stock recovery.
I had a problem just like this.
All I did was wait for the battery to drain while it was on the reset screen, and on next bootup it didn't didn't go to that screen.

I let it die, and then i plug in the charger and it boots. I see the initial setup screen but it then reboots again and goes to the Factory Reset loop again.
Guess i will keep trying
Ok i got a bit further.
When i let it die, and then plug it in it boots to android. But as soon as i reboot it, it will go back in to the Factory Rset procedure.
Also adb reboot bootloader does not send it to bootloader so i can unlock the bootloader.
I also tried putting firmware (UPDATE.APP) on an external SD card, but it will not do anything with that either.
Anyone any other suggestion?? Need to either unlock the bootloader, or somehow flash original firmware/recovery.

i think you already need to send it to huawei service center since you cant boot to fastboot.
I really hoped there was something i could do since it does bootup after draining the battery.
Somehow the factory reset procedure should be stopped so that it boots up after a reboot. There must be some virtual switch to set or something. Problem is i only have adb to do something.
I managed to fix the issue with a tip from another thread.
After draining it again i let it boot again. Then i did a factory reset from the settings menu.
The phone then rebooted and did a lowlevel factory reset. That also was stuck on 99%.
I then rebooted the phone by long pressing the on/off button. The phone then restarted the lowlevel factory reset and that succeeded.
Now its working normally again

Hello, I don't understand how you arrived to the menu to select factory reset. For me even if draining battery, it continues to loop in factory reset and stuck 99%. . can you explain the procedure step by step. thank you !

try to use this service firmware it will update your phone into B364
- put the dload folder into the root of a fat32 formatted SD_Card
- shutdown the phone
- While pressing vol_up + vol_down press power_on button the upgrade will be lunched automatically
if the file does not work please provide us with the exact phone model to get the correct file

Urgent: Realme X2 Pro FROZEN after most recent update

Hello,
After updating for the most recent update, my phone restarted and is now unresponsive showing: "You have to enter the password to access all functions after the phone is rebooted".
I cannot enter the code since the touchscreen is not working, it's completely frozen, although the animations seem to be working, since the clock is working and it opens the shutdown screen.
I tried a forced restart but the problem persists.
Any news on this problem?
