It just doesn´t work with our phone, otherwise we would already use it.
You could install it except it would be useless. It dosnt work with our phone only v 001 works I think

just wondering can a ginger xperia v21b be able to work with DX's mod pack ( with consist of dual touch etc.) suince the dev aren't the same i scare it will brick my phone

This is my first ask there, and I dont know english well, so I try duplicate my question in Russian.
I have Sony Ericsson E16i, it is rooted, and I already had installed xrecovery. I want to install Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my phone, but when I select in xrecovery "apply update.zip" or "install custom zip" after 3 sec. installation aborted with error 7. How to fix it, use only this phone? I use es explorer as root explorer (work correctly). My version is android 2.1, kernel stock, 2.1.1.a.0.53. Help me please!
P.S. I think in this post is too much mistakes - sorry, I am only in 8 class!
P.P.S. I couldn't duplicate this post in rus. Use Google Translate!!!

My rom requires a custom kernel...yours is a stock kernel...i recommend using PrimeHD or GingerDX both superb roms for stock kernel....

No difference at all
I didn't try installing x8's rom on w8.might be possible by flashing x8's stock 2.1.1 firmware.
+u can root,install recovery with flash tools application (for windows etc)
U don't need to unlock bootloader now (it's risky! May damage phone {we call hard brick})

W8 is nothing but a X8 with Walkman moniker and Android platform. It looks like Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, the difference being the body design, a walkman app and the name walkman on its body
yes you can install X8 roms on W8.

they made W8 so that people can get choice of the body and a W8 is a completely different phone for layman and it is priced bit more than X8 so basically to rob people not knowing the difference
The two phones are very identical in both design and in hardware specifications. The X8 come under Xperia range of smartphone and W8 under Walkman range of smartphone.So any rom for the X8 is a rom for the W8 and any rom for the W8 is a rom for the X8

It is normal Sony Ericsson's policy. Look on other old walkman phones. All of them is based on other non walkman phones. For example: w200 and k510, w800 and k750, w610 and k550.
Both are same
W8 has music player as Walkman
X8 has music as music
Otherwise no difference ...only sound quality improved in w8

Yes you can
there is particularly no difference in the firmware...so you can do it without any hesitation......
And I forgot to mention one thing above. The W8 speaker is much more better than the X8's. Probably because its Walkman branded.
