can anybody link me a download for the latest official RUU for the Incredible, before the GB updates? the newest I can find in an RUU file is 3.21.605.1 but I have 3.26.605.1 on my phone now (bone stock) so obviously that's not the newest. I've been thinking of starting to tinker after replacing my Eris but I need all the files to put it back to stock if I need to.
Hey bud. These question threads don't belong in this forum, FYI.
That said, I searched this forum for: 3.26.605.1 and found this:

I have been waiting since I heard Google was sending on the gingerbread update to the nexus one's. However I still haven't received mine yet nor update 2.2.2.
Under settings /about phone:-
- Android 2.2.1
- Build: FRG38D
- Hboot: 0.35.0017

Any ideas? I have tried manually updating but didn't work for me.

FRG38D aint it?
You're not running stock Google ROM. You're most probably running Vodafone modified firmware. In that case, you won't ever get Google OTA, you'll get Vodafone's - which isn't released yet, and who knows when will it be.
To install Gingerbread, you need to revert your phone to stock Google version. Read the Wiki and see, how. Look for "unroot/restore" guide.
You can also just root your phone and install one of the lightly modified stock GB ROMs (like Geo411's) from Development forum.

I'd say it's safe to just go on and update as notified. So straight to 2.3.3. That's what you're going to do anyway, right?
yes it is, thanks =)
Thanks for your help everyone! Finally got 2.3.3 =D
I'm loving it. Anyone know how I can come across the new version of nexus LWP?
Thanks
Hi all, I wonder if you can help me at all. I have just been given a GT-I9000 which is locked with t-mobile and I would like to unlock it and then flash the ROM (but I will open another thread later for that). I have unlocked only one phone so far, my old gt-I5700 and I was wondering if anybody can let me know how to unlock this one. I had a look at the sticky threads but couldn't find anything about it. Ah this phone has android 2.1
thanks a lot
Ah sorry, I need to root into my phone first...sorry! Can anybody kindly point me to the location where I can get the file to root my phone? thanks

Root is easy to obtain on this device.
You could flash a pre- rooted stock rom with Odin or depending on your rom you could flash a kernel that gives you the ability to use cwm and then flash supersu.zip.
Take a look at the development forum or search for rooting in it. YouTube offers video guides to root your device.

Thanks. Sorry I am not an expert on this so I might need a bit more help. To root in the phone as you say I need Odin. WOuld any version of Odin be ok or should I get one that supports my phone?
About tutorial on youtube, fine I will have a look. For the zip file to become root, are you saying I can get it straight from odin?
Finally, the development forum: I can't find the one for my phone on xda, could you possibly point me there please?
thanks

This is the general section for the i9000, the international version of the galaxy s1. On the left upper side, about the thread name, are links, click on the i9000. It should direct you to the overview of all i9000& 9001 relevant sub forums.
There are two Odin version that work with this phone, they are mostly included in the Odin packages or kernels.
Zip files can be flashed in the cwm/ twrp recovery, Odin can't flash zip files.
Here are some sample guides: http://m.youtube.com/user/totallydubbedHD. There are a lot of more tutorials out there, but that's a user I would recommend you. Written tutorials are in the q&a are and the development forum.

Thanks I had a look at the videos you sent me. I have managed to root and unlock my sim card, so now I have to flash the rom. I had a look around in the gt-i9000 forum, found interesting posts, but I don't understand what ROM version I should get. Ideally I would like to have the latest bug free one. I seem to understand that there are stock roms and custom roms: not entirely sure what the difference is, but as long as I can get a stable (ideally the newest) version I am happy. I had a look around but couldn't find what I need...perhaps because I am not entirely sure myself what I need. Could I ask for some more help please?
thanks

There are modified stock roms, based on the official Samsung releases but with a moded theme and some tweaks, they are also called custom roms. The development section contains also pure AOSP roms, based on the android open source project with the AOSP look and speed without OEM content.
It's up to you what you choose, both versions can be stable. The AOSP is based on the latest google release, named jellybean 4.2.1. Samsung stopped the development at 2.3.6, named gingerbread.
Take a closer look at the rom threads and try to build your own opinion with the users feedback.

well actually to flash the rom you need to root your phone first...
If for some reason I wanted to return to a stock ROM on my device, is there a site where I can download the latest stock ROM.
For example. I currently have a Nandroid backup of my HTC One's 4.2.2 Sense 5.0 ROM. While this is the latest stock at the moment, if per say when the finally get 4.3, is there a site or perhaps a thread on the forums where people post stock ROMs for their carrier/device.
I have looked about Google but haven't really managed to find much. Or at least resources which looks trustworthy/updated often.
Thanks and sorry for the noob question

Hello,
This week i'm getting a brand new stock HTC One.
I want to convert it to a Google Play Edition.
I want to use an official ROM from HTC. I want to install the latest Version. (4.4)
I don't need root and I want to receive OTA-Updates.
There are so many tutorials and threads.
For example: h**p://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/convert-any-htc-one-into-stock-google-play-edition-with-bootloader-recovery-ota-updates-0148068/
I'm not sure, but I think most of those manuals I've read don't use an official version from HTC.
Could sombody tell me or post a link on how to proceed to achieve the following demands:
-convert to GPE
-official latest GPE ROM (4.4)
-get future OTA-Updates
-not rootet.
Thank you
S-OFF.
If you don't know what that is, read up on it and acquire it. Not until then can you do a full convert.

Yes, I've done things like this some time ago with a HTC Desire, but I'm not a freak.
The linked thread uses almost the same procedure like the easy tutorial/video here:
h**p://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/convert-any-htc-one-into-stock-google-play-edition-with-bootloader-recovery-ota-updates-0148068/
The difference ist getting S-OFF. One uses "moonshine" and the other "revone".
I think it doesn't matter which one is beeing used?
Is the linked ROM [Stock(non-rooted) 4.4-3.58.1700.5 RUU Zip] an untouched ROM from HTC?
Will OTA work when going through the procedure?
Thinking of choosing Cyanogenmod too...?
Thanks
S-OFF method depends on Hboot version. Look here:

Hi,
i want to add a european rom in my htc one. I am S-OFF and changed my CID from SPCS_001 to HTC__032. I then downloaded unbranded firmware 3.62.401.1.zip and finally flashed this ROM file Guru_Reset_M7_3.62.401.1. But after it finished when i pressed reboot screen strays in bootloader and cannot reboot to the system. Any ideas?
You posted this as question, should be in question section. You can't flash international roms on Sprint One that don't have Sprint support. They use different radios, have different software. You might need Ruu, search Question section many have done this. The following link might be a little dated, there is newer RUU. All info you need is here.
