hi, i've been out of touch from the rom scene for about 4 months. It confusing for me now.
I want a fast,light,good battery,daily use ROM AND a fast, high 3Dperformance ROM.
My Current Specs are:
DREAM PVT 32B ENG S-OFF;
HBOOT-1.33.2005(DREA11000);
Recovery:RA-dream-v1.7.0;
CPLD-4 ;RADIO-2.22.23.02 ;
Plz help me find:
ROM
Radio
Bootloader
Recovery
Kernel
ROM: Any would works the same. My preference is SuperAosp 6.4.2. There is also [ROM] [MAR 1 2011] Froyo by Laszlo - Just Another Awesome Rom 5.2 that looks promissing. There are other like ezGengerBread, etc...
Radio/SPL: Use ezTerry 2708+ enabled kernel [14MB ram with radio 2.22.27.08/2.22.28.25 & hboot 1.33.0013d]
Recovery: You already have the best one out there. I recommend that you keep the Amon RA.
and if you not too sure about how to prpely use fastboot, you can use this guide on how to upgrade via recovery... and yeah for a fast stable rom i would also go with froyo by lazslo
you can try skyfalcon's ROM base on CM 6 , i use it ..and iti very ok..here is the link:

Hboot: 1.33.0013d
Recovery: RA-dream-v1.7.0-cyan
and trying out roms, currently testing gingerYoshi 1.4

Jawwad_shaukat,
Would you mind giving me short instructions on how did you upgrade to gingerYoshi.
1) u must have a rooted phone (mine is T-mobile's G1).
2) Flash Recovery e.g Amon's "RA-dream-v1.7.0" for G1
3) Flash SPL (be careful here) mine is "Hboot: 1.33.0013d" [latest and Best] b4 that i had "HBOOT-1.33.2005" [its OLD now] and b4 that, the stock one.
4) Flash Radio: 2.22.28.25 [its Best&Latest also generally referred as "+2708"]
5) Flash any new custom ROM ["U MUST FIRST CHECK WHAT REQUIREMENTS (of Radio,Bootloader, Recovery) ARE FOR THE SPECIFIC ROMS"]
I can be wrong as I keep away from ROM business for many days and forget things,
So certify this from some active user first ( i hope it's OK btw)
.......And Do Everything At ur OWN RISK Carefully.....
More ROMs Pls.
I've been running the Chromatic Dream on my rooted G1 for too long. Is there any ROMs' out there by now that are stable enough to make my G1 a daily user again without so many FCs and battery draining? I'm thinking about giving it to my daughter since I have the G2 now. Thx in Advance.

If someone please move this thread to the General section of the forums? Thanks
What the title says. Any ROM and Reason why. Not for Windows Mobile. Strictly Android.
Also please mention your hardware too. If you are dual booting (like switching between back ups) you can mention that too.
Phone: Mytouch 3G 32B PVT Board
ROM: MLIGN x.x (latest) w/ twisted depot (bart backup) or cyanogen x.x (latest) (nandroid + ext backup)
MLIGN- The best hero rom ever. everything works and great for everday usage.
Cyanogen- The best stanard donut rom. way faster than stock and can have multiple screens and themes without slowing down the phone too much.
I'm sick of having to flash new roms because they are completely unstable.. I've been using Super D 1.11 for over a year now simply because anytime I use another developers rom it has bugs somewhere -_-.
I'm looking for a newer rom that 1.6 Donut.. maybe 2.1 or 2.2 .. I'm just looking for ideas on the MOST STABLE roms for the g1 32b.
thank you.

Hello I write from Italy, I have a g1 miui with Roma, and this stable and fast but you have to update the spl and radio can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858309
Hi All,
I have COSDS on my Dream (in my sig).
Current radio is 3.22.26.17 & Current HBoot is 1.33.2005.
The COSDS (and the CM6.1.0 before that) is not working too good. Messaging, maps, call logs, always reset themselves. COSDS is overall pretty slow once I load a couple of applications that I need into it. CM always locks up once a day, at least.
Was wondering if my radio & SPL is the problem.
What is the best combo RADIO/SPL for COSDS?
What is the best combo RADIO/SPL for CM6.1.0?
Thanks all
Heeter
32b right? i say dont use COS at all
i say you should use GingerYoshi or ezGingerbread, maybe ezterry Froyo, you might gonna have to update your Hboot to the 1.33.0013d for GingerYoshi or ezGingerbread(2708), but hey, 14 extra mb of ram. ezterry's Froyo which is called MT3G_test2, uses the 2005 spl, so that works COS "s kernel take up to much system, which makes it lag so much. ginger yoshi is pretty fast. ezgingerbread is stock GB so even better
here's some links

bestofrhcp, you, my friend, are my hero.
That is a killer helpful post for me.
Links too! This is awesome.
I have been beating my head against the wall trying to get COSDS working properly on this phone.
Thanks a million,
Heeter
No problem

Thanks again, for your help.
I ended up loading Ginger Yoshi RC6.1
Total difference now, as compared to COSDS, crazy better performance, even with all my apps reinstalled.
I do have a couple of questions, but I started new threads for them.
Thanks again,
Heeter
Hello!
Sometime ago I started reading some threads about Sense ROMs for Dream.
Today, I got a HTC Dream G1 but I don't know where to start.
The ROM will be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107943 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265264 (the second one is better I suppose but please tell if you know any better REAL Sense ROM).
My G1 has RA-dream-v1.7.0 recovery and CM6 now installed. I don't know if it is 32b or not and if it is DREA110 or 100. Radio is 35.50S.20.17H_2.22.19.26I. And it has the DeathSPL.
Do I need to flash modded MTD recovery? And what swap and ext4 partitions sizes will be the best for me?
Make sure you have the current radio/SPL, if not update it.
Then...
Do nanobackup, and wipe then flash the rom and all the required files.
Then you are good to go.
Could you please give me links to the radio and spl you mean? Is it safe to flash them over my current setup?
Which one of the above ROMs is better for everyday use?

Just follow the instruction from here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139&highlight=2708
As far as for ROM goes, if you like Froyo build, I would recommend either DreamTeam Froyo (stock looks) or Froyo Melt (DT Froyo with Custom Themes to select from)
for CyanogenMod flavors, I recommended BananaBread or NameLess Froyo.
If you wants Sense ROM then any of them will do.
i have a dreamteam froyo 1.9 on my g1, is it possible to flash now a lower version of custom rom to my g1? (superd for example, which is donut)
OR what settings configuration or apps would you recommend to me to make my g1 on DreamTeam froyo runs fast??? im planning to install a lower version of custom rom coz im not satisfied with the speed.... thanks in advance and have a good day.
Yea you can flash any rom as long as it supports your radio/spl.

my radio/spl on my g1
i have 0013d/28.25 radio/spl.. can i flash lower version with these?
Depends on the rom. It usually tells you if it supports it.
For example, in the cm7.2.0 kanged, it says
Supported spls
-insert spls here-.
If the rom you want to flash requires a lower spl/radio, you can just flash down.

I think, that you can, but, for example, BiffMod you can't flash. Because in isn't supported 1.33.0013d hboot. You need to look which spl AND(!) radio are reqiured.

-1... biffmod had a special release for 1.33.0013d released with the updated spl on the same day and in the same thread as the 1.33.0013d spl was released.
Read that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139
As for roms not listed read the roms thread, most roms can be used on any dream radio/spl but may need a special kernel, to avoid asserts on install or a diffrent kernel, and in some cases other minor tweaks. If the rom is popular likely someone has mentioned it.
