Hi guys, I'm after an RSS reader that uses google reader and supports 2 accounts that isn't the one made by Google.
Any ideas?
I'm wanting one with easy switching like Friendcaster does for Facebook rather than logging out and in as another user.
I don't like the Google one, it's awful to look at and no thumbnail photos etc when viewing a list of stories.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks
(my tablet was ordered today so not here just yet)

Does anyone know of a good Calendar app that would sync up with a couple of different calendars at the same time. Specifically, I want to be able to sync with my google calendar, and be able to see my wife's and daughters calendar and have them show up (possible color coded) in one place. The Droid my wife has does this great, and it is one of the only functions that I can not find easily for winmo. If one already exists, does it work well?
Have your tried Pocket Informant? I don't know if it supports multiple calendars or not, but there is a free trial that you could download and see. It is recognized as the premier calendaring app for Windows Phones.
Okay, I know Flickr (from Yahoo!) is a great photo sharing site, but when Picasa is a Google product, how is it there's no app (that I've seen-maybe I'm missing something) for Picasa for the Eris? It's just odd to me, that's all. I use Picasa like it's going out of style, and I wish there was a way...
Am I missing something? If so, please, do tell!
If you hit share when selecting a photo it lets you choose picasa

Sorry, I guess I was more aiming at finding a Picasa App to view pictures. I apologize for not stating that properly! lol I knew about sharing pics, just wanted to view them like you can on your Flickr account.
picasa, being owned by google, doesnt really need an app per se.
google is just damn good at making mobile websites. none of their software have apps except for things made specifically for apps (shopper, etc), things that wouldn't work well with the current mobile web technologies (finance), or voice, which really does need an app to be more closely integrated with texting/calling, and for it to be able to notify you of new messages.
all of google's services, like reader and picasa, and so many more, just stay online. Google is a very very big "cloud" company. cloud computing is the whole basis of android, and the upcoming chrome os.
Lemcott is correct. Just open your browser and browse to google.com (if that's not already your homepage ), tap 'more' at the top of the page and then select Photos from the drop-down. That gives you access to all of your Picasa albums. Your other option is to use the 3D Gallery app. It syncs with Picasa.
I have a Xoom and a Droid X and up until recently I had been using AK notepad to keep my notes on each device. Well I noticed that some notes that I had on my Droid were not on my Xoom and visa versa despite enabling the sync feature. So I clicked sync on both devices and it wiped out half my messages. Apparently it took only the notes that were on my Xoom and they over wrote what was on my X. Not cool at all, so now I need to know what is the best app(s) for not just syncing notes, but syncing them between 2 or more devices.
Have you tried Evernote?
Catch notes is nice and provides a cloud account for keeping notes synced.
Another nice app is MobileNoter. Once you get it set up and working right it will sync your notes from Microsoft OneNote to your phone or tablet. It allows for syncing via both cloud and wifi but there is a small subscription charge for the one that can sync both ways.
Springpad
Evernote
Catch
I use Springpad because they have bigger widget which fit nicely for big screen like Xoom
Also I use the chrom extension ..
Hi All,
Setup my device last night, and a while ago, I started creating all my phone contacts as google ones, so that on restore, or setting up a new device, syncing my google account would bring all my numbers down.
However I noticed something a little bit strange. Some of my contacts appear to have their pictures there, and look fine in the small thumbnail in the people app, but when opening up the picture, it has a strange dot filter applied to it.
I use HaxSync to add facebook pictures as my google contact pictures, and when viewing them from a web browser they are fine. Doesnt seem to happen to all, just a few.
Anyone encountered this too? Any ideas about how to get around it? Seems very odd
Regards
Jonny
Update, well there was definitely something strange going on, and I haven't figured it out, but as a work around, in gmail (on a PC) I exported all my contacts to a google file. This neglects to export images that are on the contacts.
I then deleted all my contacts and synced my phone up, basically removing all contacts, and removed HaxSync. I then imported my saved contacts and instead of using a third party app to get high resolution photos for contacts, I did a contacts sync from the facebook app direct.
The images pulled still seem to be of decent clarity so maybe its something to do with the way the phone (or contacts app) parses images that are embedded into your google contacts.
I actually remember reading in a review about this filter too - trying to find it, but not that important now really.
Anyway. If anyone figures out why it does it then that would be good, and probably helpful to others at some point

From my understading HTC have been quite clever
Google contacts as a general rule of thumb (pardon the pun) use small thumbnails. Only recently have they started using higher quality thumbnails for contacts. Anyway, if the image is of low quality instead of it being pixelated and looking like sh*t, they basically add the dot matrix filter to make it look a bit more professional. To be fair, hats off to HTC it works and they are the first people i've seen attempt such a thing.
The secret is to get gmail contacts all high res, the problem is i am still struggling on just how to do that, seemed to work fine on my nexus but it varies from one device to another, pain in the arse in all honesty.
Ah that seems to make sense. That would explain why it would happen on only a few specific pictures.
The Facebook contact sync still seems to be working well, and there are only a few that have the filter now. I might go and double check to if those that are filtered have low resolution pictures on their Facebook account.

That is OK and definitely solve the problem. But to do it contact by contact having 1400 people in register and approx half of them are pictured, then it may be be time consuming process Interestingly I have not had this problem with my recently purchased xperia Z. Would be fine to solve it with an updated patch.
Hi!
Just got my hands on a Xperia Z1 and I am very impressed with it!
I've always had android phones and I'm used to the OS etc, however I'm having problems with my contacts not being synced to their Facebook accounts, specifically the pictures.
Previously the pictures automatically synced with each contact, so I get a nice picture on my contact list and messages, however this isnt the case now! I've synced with FB and had no success at all, so i'm wondering if there is a simple fix for this that I'm not doing?
Apologies if this is a subject that is getting repeated!
Thanks in advance! :good:
What FB-sync did you use? Facebook's own app or Sony's Xperia with Facebook account functionality?
The latter allows you for syncing the photos of your contacts, while Facebook's own application doesn't. Just go to the accounts and add a "Xperia with Facebook"-account.
