Facebook isn't much different. Does seem odd to me that Google seems to scream freedom & liberty to it's competitors about their data but wont let people freely use Google products as they so desire. Obviously having "fakesters" (heard that on the daily show) has it's downsides but what is the internet if not a place for people to live a fantasy life? =] Good luck deleting all the Mark Zuckerburgs on G+ google

,apple, microsoft, google ,and so on。if they want to check your detail, anytime

in fact, the above poster is right, a few months back did apple not say they were using the GPS coordinates in the iPhones to track location data? (which makes sense from a marketing stand point, they could see how many people actually used iPhones in different regions (i know some people who just bought one and never use it, just for the sake "oh, yeah, i own one" yeah, you bought a 700 dollar peice of technology and never touched it, smart.]

For now it looks preaty OK, will see what will be in a future...

I'm curious. Who are the "people at risk" mentioned in the "article" in the link? Personally, using my real name online doesn't mean anything negative to me. Surely anyone with anything to hide...
a) Wouldn't be on there.
b) Wouldn't be adding friends nilly willy.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

I dont see how it can affect me if i use my real name, anyway i dont see myself using G+ so much

A few mobile technology things I hear that P*SS ME OFF

Here are a few things, that when I hear people say them or something like them, I immediately want to just punch them in the face.
1. "4G is here!"
Uhm, no. Next year, buddy, at the earliest. It's going to be in a few markets and a few markets for the next year or so, but not everywhere that you'd normally get 3G. And by the way, THIS.
2. "Verizon is the best (in the US)!"
Uhm, no. They may have the best coverage, but I'd prefer not to pay out of my a** to get it. I'd also like it if people weren't nickled and dimed for every little thing, like tiered data plans (F*CK bandwith capping) and tethering.
3. "My iPhone is the greatest!"
Uhm, no. Lay off the Kool-Aid.
4. "Why did you buy that BRICK of a phone? (about my Touch Pro 2)
Hey, di*kface, this phone has the best mobile keyboard on the planet. That's a lot of space right there. Not to mention all the hardware goodies that were nice when the phone first came out. I want my phone to be like a mini-computer, so I'm okay if it's as big and heavy as one.
Okay, just venting. Anyone else get frustrated at some of the things you constantly hear?????!!!!

I will bow down to you!! That exactly what everyone says!!! SPOT on!
This is what i get in school:
"Why have you got an old 80's phone?" "I havent, but i better my phone is better than yours at multitasking!"
"Look he carrys his computer around in his pocket" "at least ive got a computer!"
Or..
"Whys your phone so big?" "Because its about to burst with the amount of functions it has"
Some people ask how old my phone is. I say 7 years old. They say its getting on a bit. Why don't you buy a Samsung Tocco Lite? I say:
1. Tocco's screen is too small,
2. I can't play DOOM on a tocco,
3. Its too popular
4. Its not windows mobile,
5. Why would i spend about £60 on a phone i can lose easier because its small?
6. The build quality won't be as good.
So there!!!! Iam a bit tired now, might just chop my hands off.

I always get "It's a bit Heavy" - to which they get "It has a fully functional QWERTY keyboard - it's an acceptable trade off".
I also like taking the proverbial "P" out of people who still own iPhone's and are getting bored with them. I keep telling them how many of Apple FanBoi's have now gotten the HTC Desire and love it now.

I have 2 Twitter accounts and I try to use them as often as possible, but I just can't figure out why people would choose this over Facebook. You get the status updates, you can post pictures and videos just the same, and you have more of a profile established with loads of stuff. I mean all of my status updates are the same for all of them (thanks to Digsby) and please don't be offended by this, but why do a majority of people prefer Twitter? I'd love to get into it, but I just don't see it.

I've found that Twitter is best to reach a larger audience in a shorter amount of time, which is why it is perfect for ROMs and such. John releases a rom, he has 20,000 followers. These followers tell their followers through a retweet and it quickly gets around. With Facebook it could take days before anyone notices something (or says anything).
I've always used Facebook for family conversations and Twitter for my android friends.

Developer Firmware - Privacy Concerns

Just talked to TMobile, and as I said I'm thinking about abandoning them for the iPhone they credited me $100 toward the Nexus One. (my plan all along) I am now on a Loyalty unlimited talk plan with 300 texts ($50), and with the Nexus I'd add web for another $20. If I buy the phone outright this would save $600 over 2 years compared with the iPhone.
HOWEVER, I am concerned that Google has their tentacles all throughout the OS, and I want to take all measures to stop that. I particularly don't like their search query tracking (I use ixquick) and their nav app, as their privacy policies are atrocious.
I guess installing a dev-modified firmware would void the warranty? Does the bootloader need to be modified? What else?
Where is the best place to find a selection of firmwares? How about open-source apps? What else would be handy?
I hear that HTC has some sort of 'phone home' function. How to neuter that?
I have a friend with a Droid, and was surprised to find that voice quality is poor. How is voice quality on the Nexus One?
What good is Wifi? Is it that you can use that when available, not using up 3G bytes? Anything else?
TIA
Whoa, that's a lot of questions... I'll answer the least controversial first.
The microphone quality is very high. Due to the noise cancelling microphone on the back, your voice will come through very clean and crisp to whatever is on the other end.
What good is WiFi? Well it's WiFi, if you would prefer to use your home network instead of 3G, do it. Typically you'll save battery power if the access point is nearby since the WiFi chip will need to push less power to the antennas. And of course, no data will be monitored or billed through WiFi since it's not t-mobile's network.
As far as roms goes, I always recommend Cyanogen as the first mod since it's well known and has the largest community. Once you're comfortable with flashing new roms, go and experiment with the others.
Now here's the hard part, you seem to be very concerned about your privacy. You may not even want an android phone since a lot of your configuration, contacts, location, and other things are stored in the "google cloud". You won't be changing much by changing search engines.
So really, all of this discussion is moot if you don't want any of your information in the cloud.
If you want a phone to use as a dealer phone...this location tracking beast is not for you.
Kinda the same for all smartphones tho, meh. Can't hide anywhere these days.
The iPhone is no better in terms of account info and location tracking.
One thing I'd mention is that you would be surprised by how many apps in the app store from apple are tracking your location. Now I'd be willing to bet this is fairly innocuous and simply used for usage statistics. But everything from the maps app to NY Times to word games access your maps.
Android marketplace is very explicit about what information each app can and will have access to before you install it.
In terms of cloud storage and google knowing your info, any mobile device will be able to sync settings and info for any account you want to use on it. I wouldn't run around thinking iPhone is more secure just because it syncs your info through iTunes and not OTA.
Can you say paranoid? As far as I know, there isn't any custom ROM for people that are paranoid about being tracked for statistics.

Lmao yea this person seems very paranoid but for what? I don't see y. Like other posters have stated the iPhone is just as bad maybe even worse. Just Becuz Google can track your location doesn't mean its a bad thing. But the voice on this thing is great and clear. The WiFi I used is faster than my 3G so I connect whenever possible. Too many questions to answer each one

Can you say 'oblivious'?
A couple of you are ignorant, willing to just hand over your 200 year old Constitutional rights for some meager security promised by The Machine. Tucked in sweetly at night, while you're robbed in your sleep of valuables you didn't even know you had. I'm not even bothering to discuss this issue further with those couple of uneducated serfs bent over for the corporatocracy.
I sure hope there are firmware developers with more sense than petard, xXJay_RXx, and especially Part Four. Spare me your inconsequential Jackass Judgmentalism.
In general I'll not be using the apps of that-search-engine-everybody-uses. Removing them forthwith, in favor of whatever GPL open-source apps there are available for various functions. Using self-contained nav software like CoPilot or TomTom. If I didn't need nav, it'd be Opie all the way.
I know what wifi is, Idiot. I am asking what use it is on a mobile in consideration of mobility and the security problems, as I used to be a cracker and know what can be done. My inference is that it can be used as a substitute for 3G at times to save data bandwidth, but I asked the question open-ended so as to not limit possible answers.
Has anyone here understood my questions besides damentz, joshlusignan, and knight4led. (Thanks so far BTW) Def agree about the iPhone. Had doubts about Android until I did some research.

I must admit, I thought it'd be a low blow but it was shockingly informative.
Informative? I am not sure that's quite the word I would use...
I really can't say how you could call these "informative".
Why?
Why is Microsoft attacking Google with such vigor all of a sudden? I always liked Microsoft, but lately they're bugging me.
Cool infomercials, but the irony has me laughing. Using YouTube to talk about your competitor? Googles YouTube.

Because android and G-apps threaten their OS.
They fear that google will replace their expensive WIN OS with something free.
You don't have to be an master mind to figure it out.
And google is pretty damn close to achieving this.
I loled. Funny add.
Interesting to see that Google has Microsoft so worried. I wouldn't have expected that. Guess they know something we don't.
Microsofts PC based adverts have been quite good in the past, if you ignore the "Windows 7 was my idea" ones.
Think of the Seinfeld ones where Gates stays with a family.
At a time when Apple was resorting to a petty smear campain against PCs, often using misinformation (a style they've continued to use with iphone and ipad adverts), it was refreshing to see Microsoft not drop to Apple's level.
Even the early "I'm a PC" adverts just showed the variety of people who rely on PCs.
These two are in a similar vein, they're not portraying Google as a big baddy, they're pointing out the failings and considerations of Google's products.
Look at the long list of "next big thing" from Google that they have just switched off.
If a product doesn't make enough money they'll pull the plug.
I'm pretty sure though that if you soley use Microsoft Web Office, if you've got no internet then you can't modify that important presentation, which is one of the flaws pointed out against Google apps. Can anyone that uses MWO confirm that?
^ the thing is, if you have office web apps, you most likely have Office installed on a physical PC.

pissed abbout google play store and samsung appstore and espetially amazon appstore

hy,
im not sure if im doing something wrong but the google appstore is very incoherent, i dont even want to mention the other stores.
i was trying for example, to find resident evil 4 on the samsung store but found streetfighter 4 instead witch i cannot find on the google store nor anywhere.
streetfighter 4 was, by all sources on google first only exclusive for LG devices and then was expanded to some devices in japan, so i shouldnt even see it.
but alright thats the samsung store i dont expect much of that anyway .. but the google store is the same crap basically.
i go on my samsung s4 in the appstore app i press the menu button and select my apps and i got two tabs one says installed the other all.
on the installed tab i should see all apps installed on my device regardless if i got them from the samsung store or any other source i could have also downloaded an apk and installed it manually.
the i open my browser and go to the google app store .. what do i got there? i have on the left a link to my apps now i am supposed to get all my apps listed there ... and also one has that little gear icon witch is there for settings on it there is an option saying MY ORDERS that lists everything i ever purchased from the google appstore.
now the issue is that in the list of my apps on the browser i dont have the same items as on the list that the mobile app store gives me i am missing believe it or not even GOOGLE VOICE SEARCH witch appears on my mobile.
now the most retarded thing about this hole thing is that i got on my device in the all tap listed 2 samsung apps witch are the SAMSUNG HUB and PHOTO EDITOR when i go into details on both i get a message saying this app is not compatible with your device.
i cannot find neither of these apps on the google app store when i use the search embeded in the store app.
if this is really the android system then i take a crap on it. IS IT SO HARD TO MAKE THING COHERENT... I CANNOT IMAGINE ANYTHING SIMPLER IN THE HOLE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT OF AN ANDROID SYSTEM. i dont want to get thrown to by all this trash produced by a bunch of different standards different appstores but as you can see also within each store itselt.
I SO REGREAD BUYING THE S4 ILL NEVER CHANGE FROM APPLE AGAIN.
is it really so that in the process of developing a system like android google or samsung or whoever just says ok ... we developed all the core stuff we dont care about the UI just get the thing ready for sale

Unfortunately that's not how Google Play works. It's only going to show you what you installed via Google Play because those are they only ones it can determine you legally own. Same goes for the Amazon App store.
Google Play Web has always had issues displaying my apps. I think that's more of a limitation of the Web Developer and/or what they're using.
The issue you're having with the apps not being compatible with your device isn't Google Play's fault but the app developer's fault as they flag what the app is and isn't compatible with.
Funny how you mention Apple does it better but you have to remember there's only one maker of the iPhone so there's no worries about compatibility while there are many makers of Android Phones so compatibility's going to be an issue.

Android is about Open Source. Unlike macs proprietary world, android wants you to have the freedom of choice. Unfortunately this means everyone wants to be a choice. There's no reason to try out a million markets. You can usually find what you need in 1. If not, use a search engine, not other markets. Just easier that way.

Lol, sorry, couldn't help myself.
The reason (again) why you might get better sound quality on apple products is because that's 1 company. Android has a ton of different people all trying to be better than the last guy. So they change the way streams sent or how hardware renders or they make a cheap product to make a quick buck. That's a free world, where people are allowed to be cheated, but also where they are allowed to go elsewhere.
Remember, if you own apple...

The best thing to do if you're having trouble is ask. No need to rant or attack companies that aren't reading this.
Just say "hey guys, having trouble finding this for my device which is s4 for this provider. Btw I'm in <country name>, thanks"
This'll help you find what you need.
Also, if you're confused about why markets don't seem synced, ask "how come phone play store shows x apps and web store on pc shows y?"
We're glad to help, but you gotta make the problem clear and not sound like we're telemarketers who called you at dinnertime

It's not that they don't it's that they can't. They released Android as an open source project for anyone to use as they see fit. Besides if they attempted to dictate to companies how they had to build their phones and that they all had to be clones of all the others then no one would make them. It is because they're allowed to make their phones they way they want that Android based phones hold more market share than the iPhone.

There's no reason to try out a million markets. You can usually find what you need in 1. If not, use a search engine, not other markets. Just easier that way.
like spell "sure" and "easiest"?
Lol, sorry, couldn't help myself.
The reason (again) why you might get better sound quality on apple products is because that's 1 company. Android has a ton of different people all trying to be better than the last guy. So they change the way streams sent or how hardware renders or they make a cheap product to make a quick buck. That's a free world, where people are allowed to be cheated, but also where they are allowed to go elsewhere.
Remember, if you own apple...
Apple owns YOU!
This is about windows now?
The best thing to do if you're having trouble is ask. No need to rant or attack companies that aren't reading this.
Just say "hey guys, having trouble finding this for my device which is s4 for this provider. Btw I'm in <country name>, thanks"
This'll help you find what you need.
Also, if you're confused about why markets don't seem synced, ask "how come phone play store shows x apps and web store on pc shows y?"
We're glad to help, but you gotta make the problem clear and not sound like we're telemarketers who called you at dinnertime

if you think youre free because you can edit the system files on your phone then are you blind as a rat .. thats exactly why you are more constrained.
you have the choice to design stuff for example the UI. like anyone is capable to design thinks as they like, at the end they design crap for sure.
look on the other hand at ios 7 BEAUTIFUL i dont want to change a thing on that one ITS SECURE ITS BEAUTIFUL ITS MOST IMPORTANT ITS COHERENT.

THEY PUT A QUALLCOM PROCESSOR IN THE S4 BUT AS THE DID WITH THE OTHER SOFTWARE THEY HAVE I BET THE CORE SOFTWARE ON THE ANDROID IS JUST AS FULL OF UNBELIEVABLE BULL**** MISTAKES AS EVERYWHERE ELSE AND I BET THESE EAT BATTERY LIFE AS WELL.
for example i wouldn't be surprised with this idiots considering their WORK so far, that android does not communicate with all wifi routes the same way it maybe BRAND DEPENDENT PFFFF.

So you don't want help? Just to complain and promote apple?
Few things:
1. Yes, I am weird, I am OCD, I see things that as you said "no one cares about". I understand how little things can be important. Like how people will value your opinion based on the coherency of your delivery. If me no comprende, then me no nintendo.
2. My understanding of how important the little things are is what prompted me to purchase an android. You think you can't edit system files in apple products? Of course you can. It's not about being able to change the look of my phone. It's about being able to choose to do as I see fit, whether that's change the look, functionality or whatever else occurs to me.
3. By the phrase "apple owns you" what I mean to say is that in purchasing an apple product, you must purchase other apple products which will only be compatible with other apple products. In purchasing their equipment you've lost the freedom of choice. It's all apple. Headphones? Apple. Laptop? Apple. Mp3 player? Apple. Repair shop? Apple. Music player? Apple. Software? Apple.
Android can be used with whatever you prefer. Samsung, sony, htc, etc. The list goes on. This is why I prefer open source. It's about not being stuck in a loop and not being a walking advertisement for products that have been pushed on me rather then those I've selected because I like.
4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That means that different people find different things beautiful. Look at some of the theme forums. Some are incredible, others are meh. To me. Not to the people that are downloading them and loving it.
This is why you think android is worse? Because it doesn't force itself on you? Have you tried windows? They're also commercial and available to everyone. You want something better, check out aosp. That's Android Open Source Project. There you will find much innovation and improvement. It's not android fighting against itself. It's companies trying to make android their own thing for their own reasons. Customer loyalty to what's familiar, a similar experience with their own brand name products.
You ask if we live on the moon for not getting away from that...
Have you even looked at this forum?
Most of what you will find here is about getting away from what all these companies are pushing on their customers. Why do you think people root? Replace roms? Kernels? All these things so we can get the experience that WE want from our devices. Not what the companies have deemed we should have.
You praise apple as the only serious company out there? Either you are gravely misinformed, blissfully ignorant or you're simply trolling.
Have you seen some of the battery performances on this forum? They're ridiculously awesome!
It's not android adding the bloatware, it's the devices manufacturers. Samsung adds Its app and launcher and whatever it wants to its devices, as does every other company out there. They made it, they can sell it how they want.
Apple's done an incredible job, it's come a long way, but it monopolizes itself. That is the only thing I don't like about apple, and is reason enough for me to never purchase their products.
I wouldn't allow such ideology in any other aspect of my life, why would I in this?
If apple makes you happy, great, grab yourself a variant of iphone and live the happy comfortable life of the conformist. Like a consumer slave, nothing to worry about when the masters choose for you

you got some good points there but.. apple ipad i the best apple earpods are the best apple laptops are the best so why would i want to choose something else.
i gurantee you that aple knows that the policy about their products is takeing them a bit portion of the market BUT they dont see any other way to guarantee you quality.
and the reason people change so much firmware is .. bad android on ios i wouldnt even want to change anything nor do i care to do things other than intended.
best way to save yourself from bad products is not to even get them and not buy them and then try to change them...

That's really the question here, I feel; why did you get something besides an apple product in the first place if you are so sold on the apple systems? Clearly there was something about apple you didn't like enough that you ended up getting an android phone instead. You can't argue that apple is the only good choice since after all - you yourself admitted it wasn't by choosing something else in this instance.

That's absolute correct. Feel free to only buy great products in the future, even though you for some strange reason decided to buy something you considered "not great" in this case, and then came to a forum dedicated to changing it to complain about your mistake.
We're very sorry you don't appreciate the phone you bought. The simple solution is to sell it to someone who does and get an iphone instead. iPhones are great products, no doubt, and apparently they are perfect for what you need!
Good luck!

This guy's either a complete moron or a troll and this thread should be locked either way. He obviously isn't here looking for help but to just bash on Android with an "I'm holier then thou" kind of attitude. If you love Apple so much how bout you just stfu and go find someone with an iPhone 5 that wants a S4 and trade with them if you can't exchange it where you bought it for one.
Posted on the GS4 forum too...and got flamed. Just a troll, IMHO!!

Actually, I don't think the OP is a troll - he is a frustrated user venting in the wrong place to the wrong people. The OP is mad because he is used to the "it just works" feeling that Apple provides. I can relate to his feelings.
I carried an iPhone for awhile. A 4S. And although I prefer my Android by far, there are a few things that Apple simply does better than anyone. One of them is quality control. As an example, "drive mode" on my current i537. On my S2 I used this all the time. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. No rhyme or reason except buggy Samsung software. When I got my i537, I figured they *must* have fixed drive mode by now... I was wrong. Two years and two versions later it *still* only works only when it feels like it. Apple *usually* would never ship such shoddy software (yes, I know about the maps fiasco, but that is an exception, not the rule with them). There are many other stupid little Samsung bugs on our phone. It is frustrating to have a device that would be just about perfect if they spent a little more time on quality control. I mean, I found some of these bugs less than an hour after booting up my phone for the first time. Makes me wonder how much testing Samsung actually did with this phone before they started shipping...
That's what I thought at first, but instead of explaining his situation clearly (what he's looking for, what he's seeing) and actually asking for help he increases the animosity in his posts and adopts an "apple rulez you droolz!!!" attitude. That's when I decided he was a troll.
If he'd be clearer than "this sucks! Me no understand! I hate you bye!" Maybe he'd get a little more help. He's obviously never seen beyond what's in front of his nose and instead of trying to understand, he becomes angry. I can understand frustration, but there's no need to attack members, companies or anyone for that matter. If you don't understand something, you research, analyze, try a different angle and see what you learn. Not cry about it to whoever happens to stroll by.

exactly right friend but just think that if you can see already so many flaws on the surface just by booting up just think how many flaws there must be on the core programs, making youre device maybe vulnerable for attacks most of them noone probably notices because all google cares about is making things stable not necessarily right.
i just cant believe that even today only one company can be taken for serious and thats apple, i dont think that there has ever been a situation on any market in the world ever in history of mankind ... in economy that nobody cares to deliver a quality product besides one company but that everybody makes profit.
android is just a big prank that keeps itself on the surface by making false promises talking about functionality where there is basicly not so much functionality as they promise.
but what goes completely out of bounds and i cant understand at all is that this is absolutely no problem to fix.
software economy has obviously taken its own dynamic, going on a thin rope of false statements and cheap production i guess.
i have been in egypt this year for holiday and i would never go there again, but still i meet there people that came there for the 5th time i just couldn't believe my mind anymore ... unbelievable.
same counts for android some people just see the obvious and some just like crappy stuff maybe they like to suffer.. makes them feel better.
Like I said, I know how you feel. I'm a perfectionist myself and don't understand either why Samsung doesn't go just a bit further with their testing to work out some of the obvious bugs and flaws in their software. But what you or I might want is unfortunately irrelevant. Samsung hasn't asked for my opinion thus far, and I'd doubt they will anytime soon. So... We get to chose between Apple's relentless pursuit of perfection inside their strictly controlled "walled garden", or the "Wild West" of the Samsung/Android world. I'll take the later, bugs and all. If you chose to do the same, there are people here who will go far out of their way to help you with any issues that come up and only ask for coherency and politeness in return. Give it a try...

Google Now vs Siri, your opinion

Hello, I recently switched from ios to android, google disadvantage now see that (in my opinion) do not fulfill specific functions, we changed the English but still not correctly answer general types: how's the weather today nearby restaurants etc.. What is your opinion about google now?
I always think that google now is in development, cuz first of all is the voice engine its pretty "mechanical".That's all
You will be told soon comparison threads are not allowed.. Prepare for thread closure..
Let's put it this way:
Siri:
"What's the weather like today?" "Are you sure you want to delete all contacts?" "No! No! No! I didn't ask you to do that!" "Delete Confirmed."
Click to collapse
Google Now:
Open the app
Look at the weather card. (Usually the first thing you see when you go in the app)
Click to collapse
Google now has handy "cards" for you to view wherever you are. Like what restraunts are nearby, Photo locations, Traffic information, ETA to Home/Work etc.
You don't need to ask it anything most of the time, although you can ask simple questions such as "How old is (Insert famous person here)" or "How tall is (Insert Famous Person here)" or "When was (Insert building/landmark here) built?" and it'll often tell you the answer
What I've heard from people is if you live in the US and speak US english, like me, it's by far better than anything else out there. If you don't live here / don't speak US english, it's not that great. I've never tried any other language or country so I can't tell, but for me, Google now is miles ahead of siri. Cortana is actually pretty good though.
Thanks for the opinions guys, one more question, I have to search the motor google.us or have active locations to benefit from all functions of the application? thanks

Google search is normally set to your local one (I.e if you are in the US, you'll be automatically searching with the US one)
You need to have active location (GPS) to get the best benefit from all the function.
It needs to know where you are so it can show those cards with information relevant to your current location but hey, at least you don't have to keep on asking it questions!

Siri feels like an assistant.I cant say the same for google now.Its my personal opinion
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
To be honest I don't see much of a difference in what they do, besides their names and companies. After all, Google is my favorite search engine and database, and I definitely prefer Google Maps over Apple's, so Google Now does a pretty awesome job for me. Siri/Google Now would not really affect my purchasing decision in any case.
I really like the functions of Google Now. It's more helpful and able to provide information when I need it. However, to enable the full functionality of Google Now means Google Service Framework is running all the time and producing a huge amount of wakelocks... Which means a lot of battery drainage.
So I would say neither one of these meets my expectation...Hope GSF could get better
I think Google Now "understands" your requests better, but maybe it is microphone related... I dont know anybody using any of these services because it affords more time getting what you want.
i prefer google now. looks a lot cleaner and more accurate imo.
Although I have never used an iPhone except for demo kiosks, I hear nothing but terrible things. Can't remember who did it but there was a Youtube video comparing the two when they came out. Siri for some reason kept wanting to talk about horses.

yah i like google now
I don't like any of the Google Apps included Google Now because it's waisting all your RAM memory!
And it stays running in the background.
I have only used S-Voice when i was on stock but i'm now on custom rom and now i'm don't using a siri anymore.
Siri Apps are defenitly better then any other !
I have had the iphone 4s firmware updates and enjoy siri, was an addition more than useless over to the friends. I have now and s-voice s4 is something less mechanical than siri in the sense of the daily use
rivalstorm v.1 with Tamirda's mod
I know this is very unscientific, but whenever I meet someone who uses an iphone, I ask if they use siri. Most don't. Not everyone uses google voice search either, but it seems like more do. Take from that what you will. As for me, I love google's voice search. It has rarely failed me.
I have to admit, Siri is fun. And many people just use it for entertainment purposes.
Google Now is mainly used for help and knowledge. And I use it everyday. Its a great way of doing tasks while you're a bit busy.
Defenitly Siri
