If i go to the BOOT screen, It just stay in the "colours" screen.. (I have the Micro SD whit the ROM named kovsimg in my device.... so, PLEASE HELP! im kind of newie....

ALso, i just have formated the Micro SD card into FAT32, and have the room in the root...

You have done all things correctly until now.
1. Can you check your ROM name at your PC whether is 'kovsimg.nbh' or 'kovsimg.nbh.nbh'? (Correct name should be only one .nbh) I guess you renamed it to double .nbh already.
2. After confirm the ROM name is correct, remove the battery and insert memory card.
3. Put back the battery then press the volume button down, and power button together and HOLD BOTH BUTTONS UNTIL TRI COLOUR SCREEN APPEAR
4. If your ROM name is correct then it should start installation.
Hope this works for you..

HAve done it like 4 times... i checked and everything was allright... i tried with 3 different micro sd and nothing happened.... At the end, i just bored of triyng with the micro sd, and installed the rom with the cellphone connected to the pc (using the RUU kovsky)... but still dont know what goes wrong with the SD....

have you pull out the usb cable from pc when in the boot screen (after you finished perform task29)?

flashing from SD Card ?????

hi
it is possible to write ROM from SD Card ??
Yes it is, if you have the backup rom on SD card. Enter bootloader with sd card inside the device and it will ask you whether or not to flash the rom.
i don't have backup on SD Card
why do you need to use SD flashing? this was primary designed for emergency purposes, it makes physical rewritement of all parts of ROM (could be compared with complete format of your pc, not just quick format)a and new initialization
of course, you must have SD card to take backup from - this is easy to create with various tty clients, the most used for it is mtty (putty and others could be also used)
I need to flash my harmer from sd can you write how do it??
I dont have backup on sd can make for me thiece backup and send me on mail or something like thiece ?? My harmer stop on splash screen i was flashing on cid locked maschine :|
- I tought that a SD backup was needed, and yes it is. But u can use your own phone and your own SD to do it.
2- Get a clean SD card (in qtek 9100 / Htc Wizard case is MiniSD) with 128MB (some people say 64MB, but I personally used a 128MB, maybe a 64MB is enough)
3- Kill (task manager) wescomm.exe (this is related with activesync installed on your PC). Insert the blank SD card on the phone.
4- Get your phone in bootloader mode. Like this : Phone powered off, press Camera button + Power On, will enter in bootloader mode (RGB screen).
5- Now connect your USB cable to your phone. And start MTTY_updateROM.exe (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/romupdate.rar). After open, on Port selection, choose \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and press OK. A window will open with a blank sheet.
6- Type "r2sd all" and hit enter... wait to the end (at end shows "cmd>"). On your phone screen u can follow backup progress... small bar will appear down the RGB screen.
7- Power off the phone (or remove battery), enter bootloader mode (camera button + power on) and this time RGB won´t appear right away. Will ask if u want to "download SD image", press voice dial button to agree, and writting will begin. Wait to the end. Power off and power on normally. Now your phone should be working ok. Not even needed to reflash the phone after this.
Thanks to all and hope this helps more people with this problem""
In Wizard forum Ozzy give me thiece solution
I screw my Wizard....
Hi,
Im really new to all this, and... in a few words, I screw the registry of my Wizard T-Mobile, and now it doesn't boot, I can enter to the rgb mode, and, I understand that flashing from SD can help me, but, the steps described above are for restore a backup or make a backup ? Im so confused
Thanks in advance.
UPDATED: It worked great! but... just one thing, The SD is not reconigzed by my phone, is any way to format it from the Multi-Port/USB TTY ?
Regards.

I did all that you said (backed up to SD card, then restored to SD card successfully), but the problem still remains (obviously).
Is there anywhere I can simply download a 'clean' image file specially formatted for SD cards?

Problem while upgrading ROM

Hi Experts
I just bought new Xperia, updated it via SE software, but it seems to be so slow, so thinking to upgrade the ROM. From the Forum i found this ROM to be the fastest one from user's opinion EnergyROM_KOVSKY_20090805_Standard.
Now the problem is when i try to upgrade the ROM i am not successful in it. I read the procedure from ROM upgrade but failed several time. The procedure i followed after reading from the forum is as under.
1. Downloaded X1_HardSPL file and run on the PC, while Xperia is connected to the PC.
2. Formatted my SD card and put the KOVSIMG.nbh file on the SD card.
3. Disconnect the phne from PC, inserted the SD card into mobile.
4. Took the battery out of the mobile, insert it back and try to start it by pressing volume down key & start power up button, and my mobile can be starting in the 4 colour mode, and showing loading option.
But after that it just hang and do not move further, i waited for 15 min, but it do not move further or show any progress bar.
I am feeling disappointed with Xperia as windows 6.1 in my xperia seems to be very slow. Let mention i earlier use SE P990i, and it was really working at double the speed of Xperia.
Any help will be really appreciated

seems you are doing it right. Hard SPL, check if the version is right after you do the hardSPL as described here. It is not 0.52 now, there was some update but well, you get the idea.
That's done, continue to use the SD card method. you do not have to format your SD card. The nbh file just need to be correctly named and place at the root of the SD card.
The video tutorial may be more helpful in guiding. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497511
At your step 4, the loading should be instant and ask you if you want to update. That's where you press the power button again and let it update with the custom ROM.

Image file not being recognized [HardSPL installed and confirmed]

After all of my other problems... HardSPL is finally on correctly and I checked.
I have Kovsimg.nbh on my FAT 32 microSDHC card. I got to bootloader, saw OliNex whatever. It goes to loading. Then "Image not found!"
Had this problem before with official ROMs as well... Had to use SEUS.
What the hell is the problem with this?
My USB port has been unreliable so far, so I dont want to chance using CustomRUU (I dont know how to use it anyway).

Custom RUU is easy. Just leave your phone on and plugged into the USB. Make sure you have the image file renamed to RUU_signed.nbh. Start Custom RUU. Follow the steps in Custom RUU. And Voila! It turns the phone into the Boot Loader automatically and you can watch the progress on your monitor. I use it all the time. I don't like to copy everything off my SD card onto the HDD and I don't have a spare SD card to leave the SD card blank with only the image file.
You don't have to copy everything off your sd card, just put Kovsimg.nbh in the root of your card and everything is good to go.
Copy your .nbh file to the root of your sd card and rename it to Kovsimg.nbh.
Boot phone with holding : vol down + power keys until the color screen appears.
it should find the image now, else use ruu on a friends pc.
remember to active sync first...
regards
I dont have a Kingston card, but maybe I'll try using my Corsair 512mb microSD later today.
My main problem with CustomRUU is that the USB connection to my phone isnt stable. What would happen if it suddenly DC'd?
EDIT: Ahah, so using my Corsair card instead of my A-Data card works.

You have had problems with the USB Connection to your X1 before? Then dont flash via USB / Custom RUU. Thats really too risky then.
It first flashes the Bootsector and a few other things, then begins with the OS parts. If the connection is cancelled while flashing the Bootsector etc. you may get some serious problems as your device wont boot anymore (search for putty btw. if this happens to you).
When there is an Error while the OS is updating you can flash again. I had this once with a non-clear sdcard that the installation did not go over 99%. A reflash with a clear card worked without problems.

is my phone broken?

hello i am having problems with flashing a custom ROM. I've formatted a micro sd its 2GB. Then I added the ROM file, renamed it to kovsimg.nbh and started the phone as stated (by pressing the vol down button). Please help !!!all want is reinsstal my xperia x-1 a new windows 6.1 how i can do this plz help my phone is give me this alert SİMCARD NOT İNSERTED'' Plz help me
Do you have press and hold the vol down and the power until the screen show"loading"???

Says no image??I don't have this problem...so I can't help you,sorry...
Hello you're not alone in the dark
My Xperia do it in the same way. So i hope we will get an answer.
Additional i have problems to use the Internet yet. After receiving a config SMS the applications which are using internetdata didn't get some. The connecting to provider or wifi seem OK but no data for the application.
Provided the card is read, make sure you formatted your card properly with FAT32 and placed renamed ROM file into the ROOT.
It's possible to read the card (after booting the phone). The card is Fat32 fomatted and the imagename is set. But it's not only the problem to flash using the CD-card. Also trying by using the sync-methode will fail. I get the splashscreen with the bar showing the percentage. In the state of 0% i get an error message. No recovery is needed, but i never get the phone flashed.
My problems is exackly the same
If it doesn't work use the USB method, it always works.
Hi VingZTV,
You're wrong please read my post #7 in this thread.
I called it sync method, cause you are using active sync.
cu HAndi
I encountered this problem too. My present X1 (3rd already) refused to hardSPL or do anything with both PC (stucked at 0%, connection errors etc) and SD method ("no image file" later stuck at "loading"). Previous ones worked with either SD or PC method
This time I tried different cables and PCs and couldn't hardSPL
nor was the SD card method working, tried different cards and formatted one to fat32 before putting image file
it seems the problem might be on X1's where SPL is stock 0.78 ?
Anyways for me it worked finally when I tried hardSPL with RUU to 0.52olinex ("X1_HardSPL.exe" file) on a different PC and cable with a formatted card inserted where 0.78olinex was renamed to kovsimg.nbh (so ready to flash hardSPL with SD method which didn't work befere). The phone was set to bootloader by the program and then started flashing the image on the SD! (the program reported error as usual)
phone flashed it once, restarted, did it again and was ready!
Then I had no problem to flash a ROM with SD method normally
So I don't know what could be the reason it worked or it was a coincidence maybe try to:
WARNING: AS ALWAYS YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!
- insert a freshly formatted card with hardSPL file (0.78olinex perhaps) renamed to kovsimg.nbh
- sync with PC and try to hardspl PC way like above and maybe the phone will finally flash the SPL from the SD
- let us know if it worked
It still doesn't work
I used 128m microSD and formated to FAT32, only copy 0.78RUU_Signed.nbh to SD card, renamed to kovsimg.nbh. After I used VOL- and power bottom. It only showed me loading.....
I also tried 0.72, looks same. DID I do some thing wrong?
Thank you very for any response!

formatting the internal memory has deleted your ROM, you need to flash another one now.

If your X1 is Hard-SPL already, then the whole process is simple....if it's not yet done then find out how to do it from the following thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
Once when made sure that your X1 is Hard-SPL, follow the below steps to flash a Custom ROM using your SD Card -
A ) Make sure that your Micro-SD Card is formatted with FAT 32
B ) Rename the ROM image(whatever name it is) to Kovsimg.nbh,
C ) Copy the renamed image to the Micro-SD card & load it in the phone
D ) Make sure that your X1 is not connected to PC
E ) Bring X1 to Boot-loader mode by turning-off the X1 completely and then hold the 'Volume Down' button on the right and at the same time hold the 'Power Button' until you see the Tri-color screen.
F ) Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your ROM will be flashed in Max.10 Min...
