[Resolved] Keyboard blanks screen - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm using GingerDX V011. I have tried wiping but when I use the keyboard, it causes the screen to go blank.
If I rotate phone sometimes it works and if I manage to quickly grab focus from keyboard back onto the textedit widget, it holds the screen the way it is supposed to.
However, it is a bit of a pain. It has happened with the Android keyboard and I have installed Swype and I get the same result and that is the keyboard I usually use.
Anyone else have this behavior and know how to resolve?
Fixed this, it was Xperia Arc theme issue on X8.

ADP - Cannot display while real keyboard is closed!!!

Hi all,
I have troublesome problem. Could you help me. My phone is ADP1.
If the real keyboard is closed, and phone is locked then I cannot use menu button to unlock, it does not display anything , keyboard is bright
If the real keyboard is opened, and phone is locked then I can use menu to unlock, it displays, keyboard is bright as normal.
While the phone is unlocked, whether the real keyboard is opened or closed, it works as normal.
The problem is I cannot unlock the phone while the real keyboard is closed. It' really crazy
I also try to downgrade to 1.0, upgrade to 1.5, the result is the same.
Please help me
Thanks in advance.
That's horrible, I have to slide the keyboard to take a call
I still wait for god

Touch screen problem.

My kaiser's touch screen suddenly has aquired an attitude. Some time it works, some it doesn't. When I touch nothing happens. Also when I slide open the keyboard, it works, but as soon as I close the keyboard, it stops working again. When I reboot, the screen works, but it stops after some time. Then it works if I open the keyboard. I have done hard reset, but that hasn't solved the problem.
Is there any thing I can do to fix it.
Now the touch works only if keyboard is open and doesn't work when closed. Any tips (already did hard reset twice).
With more research, the touch screen works but only when pressed very tightly at the point shown in figure (See red circle). Is there any solution to this ?
Will this get fixed if Change LCD ? Or can it be fixed by tightening some screws ?

G1 Unresponsive - Requesting Help

My friends G1 is unresponsive whenever the screen is closed, but seems to work when sliding it open. The funny thing is, while the device doesn't perform any actions when the screen is closed, it still seems to be responding to touch. When the screen is opened again, your touched actions will "catch up" and the phone responds. This happens from recovery mode as well as in Android.
Can anyone help?

The phone is in standby/sleep mode while screen is off, so you cant use the touch screen. You must double tap Menu to get to the home screen. While in recovery mode you cant use the touch screen cause you have to use the hardware buttons or the trackball. Im guessing you were unaware that the phone goes into sleep mode. When you slide the KB the phone wakes from sleep mode and allows you to use it.You only have to slide it when you need it not just to do it randomly.
No no, sorry if I worded it incorrectly. The screen is on and it is frozen when the slider is closed. Once you open the keyboard, everything works fine. As soon as you slide it in, the screen freezes on its current display and stops updating.

What rom are you using?
If it is a hero rom then it doesnt work while in landscape mode so you cant open the KB while on home.
Its a 2.1 ROM by Kingx
The screen behaves the same in and out of android though...such as in the recovery (JFv1.4) console. If the screen is closed, the screen "freezes", but the frozen picture is still displayed. If you slide the screen ouţand expose the keyboard, it works fine. The phone otherwise operates normally, as does the standby mode.

You need to upgrade your recovery though

Try wiping and reinstall the rom and wipe everything. Also you need a task manager cause you might have a billion apps open.
I'll try it on his phone when I get off work. Thanks for the recovery link. Do you prefer this over JF?

JF is super old and lacks many features from Amon_Ra. But it's based off of Cyan 1.4 recovery. It makes a lot of things easier like partitioning, wiping, backup, restoring roms.
Alright,
Home now with his phone. I swapped JF's recovery with RA. The issue still exists, and I'm wondering if it's hardware related...
This is frustrating. I don't know if I can fix it for him...
The problem seems to have gotten worse on its own. If the screen is closed at all, the screen will go black with a slight image shown with what seems to be an unworking backlight. However, upon sliding the keyboard open again, the backlight does not return until the device is rebooted while leaving the keyboard open.
Edit:
The backlight seems to come on sometimes when you slide the screen open...

You might wanna wipe and install another rom to see if the problem stays. There might be a hardware problem with your phone.
I've wiped and tried a couple of other ROMs but the issue persists. If it's a hardware issue, is there anything I can try to fix it?

It could be the ribbon that connects to the display. If you can find the assembly guide you could replace the broken or loose piece. But i'm not 100% on which part of the display needs to be replaced. You could ask someone at T-Mobile or at a electronics store what the problem is.HTC offers a free 2yr warranty so you might be able to get a replacement.
Bumping this to see if this was ever resolved. Having the same issue, and considering replacing it brand new, but wanted to know what exactly needs to be replaced so I can order it.

[Q] Screen randomly stops working?

Hi there,
did anyone else have this problem? Occasionally, my screen would not react to my touch input. That is either the status bar stopping in the middle of the screen whilst collapsing, a character on the touch keyboard appears pressed and activated, even though I don't type anything (Can't continue writing when this happens) or the widgets screen on the home screen appears and re-appears and I can't change the homescreens since they are stuck in-between.
This is my second Z (Switched from a black to a white one) and so far, everything's been fine. It doesn't have any custom stuff on it except root. But the problem also occured prior to rooting.
Does anyone have a fix for this? My workarounds so far: Switching it off by POWER+VOLUP or leaving it in standby for a couple of minutes.
Might this be a hardware problem?
Thanks you very much in advance!

you can try to reflash a stock ftf via flashtool, doing a full wipe maybe will resolve this issue!

Keyboard Moves Home Screen Up?

Hi all! So I've recently been having this weird thing happen on my phone. When the keyboard pops up in the home screen (It happens when I'm naming folders in the home screen) it moves my whole screen up. It sounds weird but it's like there's enough room for a second sense dock at the bottom. It only happens when the keyboard comes up on the homescreen, if the keyboard comes up anywhere else it's fine. If I open camera, or reboot the phone it goes back to normal. I'll put up a screenshot.
It's only been happening since last night, after flashing ARHD 51.0. I've looked on the forum but I haven't seen anything about this problem before. Any help on how to fix this would be much appreciated!!
