Hi devs, I have a Galaxy S I9000 and its running on Android 2.3.4 I9000XXJVP firmware (downloaded from Samfirmware). Can someone port this ROM for Vibrant? I mean exactly the same, including TouchWiz 3 launcher and frameworks, all Samsung Widgets and SNS accounts, etc.
Thanks.
Dinesh.
Latest is JVR and already did that many devs on forum just have a glimpse.
we have a jvp vibrant kernel and we flash it over the i9000 roms, all fine as far.

But the problem is that they include TouchWiz 4 or TouchWiz 4.5. Also, those ROM's do not have all the Samsung widgets and SNS accounts do not work properly. I m currently on Original Lidroid 2.8.2(Gingerbread 2.3.4 XXJVQ)
and everything is great and exactly what I want. Except that it contains very few samsung widgets and no SNS account support. I m not looking for any customization. Just the ROM ported to work on Vibrant maintaining all the stock I9000 feel.

Works on defy cm7. You might need to clear data for the old music player. This is what I did.

From all the reports I have seen on this forum and elsewhere it doesn't work on 2.3.3 Samsung ROMs. But known to work on CM7 and older 2.2 ROMs.

Just to let you all know, the latest updated release now works on samsungs gingerbread... well ive tried it on JVH.
You can find the download via a google search "google music 3.0.1 apk"
Google Account Link
I have two google accounts and I can't link my google music to the account I have my music uploaded to. There does not seem to be any settings at all in the music player. Any ideas on how to link the player to an account?
i peeked at a few of the 2.3.4 ROMs and it seems that they're all heavily themed or modded.
is there one that is close to stock with only a few tasteful mods?
thanks
2.3.4-For Captivate, no. For the i9000, there is JVP& JVQ. You have to use a reoriented kernel with the I9000 roms.
2.3.3-For Captivate, kinda. UCKF1 is a leak, but a very stable one. Cognition 5 is built off the kf1. Since kf1 is a leak, it can't really be called official stock.
thanks. looks like i'm gonna grab a stock JVQ ROM. any recommendations for a kernel that would work best with that?
PS. i was looking at the stock i9000 roms on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790
I would go with the Talon kernel. It has a lot if features, plus you can choose from 4 different clock speeds (1000, 1200,1300& 1400).
Asfor downloading firmware, I would go to www.samfirmware.com. They have a large selection, but you will have to register (free) to dl anything.

Try out the latest Talon kernel. Works great with the JVQ ROM I have.
so the stock samfirmware ROMs are preferred to the deodexed ones found here on XDA?
ty!
I prefer to dl from samfirm if I can, buy I think you would be ok using either.
gave jvq with talon a shot. got the home key working (except haptic - trying to fix that resulted in boot loop). put aosp theme on it. looked amazing, however i found that set up a bit sluggish than i'm used to, and also the the touchscreen seemed a bit insensitive.
so running 2.3.3 kf1 now. like it so far...
Apex 8.2, JVQ, 2.3.4 ...... It look like Galaxy S2 stock... and I recommend you DarkCore Kernel... Talon is so laggy for me!
I am currently using Serendipity VII on my Captivate and like it a lot. I was wondering if there are any other I9000 based Gingerbread roms? I have looked around in the Development section but it is difficult to tell if they are I9000 based or not. Are there any others and how can I tell?
A pretty quick way to tell is to look at the build lettering of the Rom - roms who use a 3-letter acronym starting with K generally are I897 roms, ones starting with J are I9000-based.
For example: Illuminance, Fasty, and Serenity all start with K (KK4, etc) - they are I897. Mosaic, Saurom, and Apex start with J, they are I9000 (JVT, JVZ, etc).

Sweeeet! Thanks much!
The samsung codification system... Example JVT is a i9000 where KK4 is i897. Odds are if it starts with J in the coding its I9000 not I897
Are there any ROMS for Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 that run 2.3.7 stock. As in not cynanogenmod, I'm looking to work from a base 2.3.7 and incorporate some patches like batteryextender and stuff to make a nice battery length stock rom.
Any help?
Thanks

Nope, there are no stock 2.3.7 ROMs
However, there were a couple of AOSP 2.3.7 ROMs running pure Gingerbread
You can look into those
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807076
Officialy there is no 2.3.7
2.3.7 is only for CM.
Its only a number that can be easily editted in build.prop so in About phone it appears 2.3.7
Or even 6.0 any number

RemICS-JB port for Captivate has tons of issues and no support, I don't recommend using this one.
Avatar ROM is stable (CM10.1 based), with very good support, and there is Galaxy S3 theme available for it.
You can also try and flash back to stock rooted and install individual galaxy s3 apk's that have been released for installing in other phones.
