Installed Mosiac on friends phone, and in contacts theres no option to export to sd card, so im unable to synce her contacts with google, I googled problem and got something about .vcf file or something. I imported them from sim to phone but theres no ooption to export to sd like on my phone.
Go to Dialer> Contacts> Menu> "Import/Export" > "Export to SD card"
Of course I'm not running Mosaic, so mine is probably a different dialer.

Theres no option to select Export to SD, Theres one on my samsung infuse and another friends captivate running mosaic, but her's dont have it
Maybe you can try installing the contacts app in the sgs tools.
Thanks guys figured it out, I guess phone had to have an external sd in it, thought you could put them on phones sd, but as soon as I put my external sd in her phone the option showed up, then I was able to sync them to google from there. Thanks again

1. open Kies
2. open your last saved *.spb file
3. save the file again as *. vsf manually in the file name area
4. go to were normally saved spb files ( C:\Users\ _\Documents\samsung\Kies\PIMS)
5. you will find all the contacts saved as vsf file.
6. select all contacts and copy them in a directory (ontacts)
7. connect your samsong to the pc and copy the directory (cotacts) in to the sd card
8. disconect your samsong
9. select the contact icon
10. from the left key press and select import contact from sd
job done

hello
I formated the internal sd card (with VOL UP + HOME Buttom + ON) but had a security copy of my contacts (i think it was .vcf file)
there is chance to recover it?
It is very important to me ... Thank you.
to start with, if you ever used the Android Market before the "accident"
then you should have a fully sync-ed copy of all your contacts
just reinput your gmail account to Android Market, and every will be back again
If that doesn't do it, go to settings, import/export and import the backup

ok thanks your help but i think lost contacts forever
If you have a vcf contacts file then restore it onto the phone via samsung kies. But if it was on the phone and you have wiped it then its gone. Take a look about your external menory card and see if its there.

I have a Samsung Captivate and I accidentally deleted the sd (at least that is what i think it was called) folder. How do I get it back? If I just create a new folder that says 'sd' will it still save things onto my internal sd card?
my /sd/ folder is empty at least looking at it from the OI file manager on the phone
I think mine was as well but I want to put music on my phone and i want it to go on the internal sd. I tried seeing if the files would go directly on the sd so i put a few music files in a folder i created but when i checked my task manager the internal memory storage changed, not the internal sd storage.

It depends what OS you are running.
2.1 used /sdcard for internal and /sdcard/sd for external
2.2 moved these directories under /mnt but left the old directories empty

Does anybody know what to do if the sd folder is deleted?
I noticed I had an 'sd' folder and an 'external_sd' folder. The sd folder was blank, so I deleted it after I viewed it on my pc - there was nothing in it. It didn't seem to be needed. But now I can't view certain files on my phone only. I can view them on my laptop via USB connection using Windows Explorer.
To attempt to find this folder on my phone, that I CAN see on my laptop using Windows Explorer, I created a txt file in that folder (that I can't find on my phone), naming it 'sdmissing.txt'. I searched everywhere on my phone, even from root directory, trying to find this file and couldn't. Yet after connecting to my laptop via USB, I can see it. What can I do??
Thanks in advance for any help!

backup important data and apps with tibu or any other apps in the market and perform factory reset with your phone it should bring you back to where you are.

Turn off and on ur phone to see if it works for you or not. I found that sd is a hidden folder and its blank. When I flash custom roms, I do it without going to stock. But, I do delete Android, data, sd and some other folders, that I know will be automatically created after the reboot/flash. When I go to cwm recovery to install rom from zip, I do see the Android folder and sd folder showing up there. Don't panic. Just do normal shutdown and restart. If that doesn't fix, reflash the custom rom if you are using one.

There are many ways, but the most simple way is to connect your phone to your computer, and turn on USB storage. Then browse the contents of your SD card: (windows) computer > SD card > clockworkmod > backup > SELECT the backups you want to delete and delete them. Done.

Deleting the backup folder using any file manager is simpler..
I am getting big problem with my Sandisk 8gb micro sdcard.
i mount it with pc via galaxy mini a pop menu came up (scan and fix) i clicked continue without scanning then it shows 6.22 gb free of 6.96 gb (rest is used in 2nd partition). i copy files to sdcard (copy some ROMS and GAPPS). Un-mount sdcard.
Now problem started, i open file explorer and not able to find my files whc i copied.
than again tried to copy, resulted fail.
so decided to format sdcard. For first time when i try to format it showed (Windows cannot complete format) than tried with CMD same problem bad sector filled with zeros. than tried with SD card Formatter (software) but it said card it write protected.
after some time when i tried to format it formatted successfully
so i unmount but boom when i re mount it showed me all the same files before being format.
i try to format again it successfully formatted but after un mount and re mount same files are seen.
Any Help?

How would i click "cancel" if the scan with fix thing is "finished". as you said... ?
If it's finished then it's good, I just told you what to do when it stops with full green bar and "cancel" button (like in my case)

it is finished, tried 4-5 times but every time it is completely finished.
any software to give HARD format to sd card. ?
For me it hanged at the very end, but if it finished for you, it's good if that error still shows up, make a backup of important stuff an go to recovery, choose "mounts and storage", and format SD card. When it's done, boot up your phone and plug in to PC. If you can't access SD card, format it again, but this time from PC.

You too have some strange files left on it? Care to post names of them?
if you have a Nokia s40 series mobile then use it to format
mime was showing corrupted and was not mounting, I formatted it with 2690 and it was working again
No, no strange file names. When I try to format it via CWM it gets stuck, via Minitool it formats but after it shows unfformated partition or unusable partition, then I check and my files are all there. Tried with windows formatting, gets stuck too...

Hi.
I make a backup of all contacts i have in my samsung galaxy s plus and i send it from bluetoooth to the samsung galaxy note 2 and now i DON'T find anywhere at note2 the vcf file to restore the contacts of galaxy s plus.
Can anyone tell me where it stores the contacts vcf file the note2?
Already search at the bluetooth folder but the file it isn't here.
When i send the file and press propetries to this file it show me inbox\transfers but i don't find anywhere that folder and even with es explorer program i make a complete search for vcf file and didn't find it anywhere.
Can anyone help me and tell me where else i search or to what name store the contacts backup file the galaxy s plus?
The note2 isn't rooted it is with original 4.1.1 android version.
please tell me a way to find out this contact backup file where it is stored at note2 so i can restore the contacts to the galaxy s plus.
It doesn't make a backup at gmail account i was syncronize the galaxy s plus so the only solution is to find that file.
A LOT OF THANKS.
The vcf file has to be in the SD card. Transfering a file via Bluetooth allows the file to be in a folder somewhere else. Find a way to transfer it and still know where it is located.
Send it to the GMail and retrieve it. It will be on the downloads folder. Drag it out from the folder.

But EXACTLY that is the problem I DON'T know to which folder at note2 is send the vcf file.
And from the s plus there isn't anything at all because i do factory defaults so.....
If i know where it send the vcf contacts file at the note2 then i know what i do but the fact is I DON'T KNOW TO WICH FOLDER IS SEND THE VCF FILE OF CONTACTS(galaxy s plus) so....
How i find out(search) for that vcf file to entire note2?
If i connected to a pc like a memory device(flash disk) and not like mobile and search it from pc does i have any success or not?
You might have more luck finding it with your computer. Since you have cleared your galaxy s plus, you can only hope your Bluetooth transfer got through.
Since you said it can't be found on your Bluetooth folder, you might have failed the Bluetooth transfer.
Vcf file is stored in the SD card. Have you formatted your SD card too when you clean your galaxy s? You could have just reuse the SD card in your galaxy s.
If you don't use any SD card. It may still be in your internal SD as long as you did not format your SD when you factory reset.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
At the note 2 i don't have delete anything at all.
At the galaxy s plus i have delete all with factory defaults option.
Neither of these two mobiles has external sd card.
As already tallied when i send the contact file i see it at the note2 status bar but i don't know to what folder is stored the file.
At bluetooth folder there isn't any that file.
How it name the vcf backup file the samsung galaxy s plus?
Maybe 00001.vcf
Yes it would be named as something like that. Your Galaxy S plus's internal sd may still have the vcf file. Check it out there. Or connect your note 2 to our computer and run a thorough search.
Factory data reset will not clear your internal SD. Only your apps. Files and folders are still intact unless you chose to reformat the SD in settings. So double check your Galaxy S plus's internal SD for the vcf file.
