I just noticed the ICS stock camera doesn't save the pic as filename YYYY-MM-DD like the GB stock camera did.
That info is in the EXIF data, but I need it in the filename too for sorting.
Both Camera 360 and Camera FX store with the date but only after the app name ..... Like. Camera360-2012-03-26.jpg
Does anyone know a camera app that will fix this? How about the GB Vivid camera app?

Well, I found Fast Burst Camera that saves in YYYY-MM-DD.jpg format. It's a great camera app.
Its blazing fast too. It only lacks two features. It uses a constant on flashlight instead of flash and it doesnt geotag the pictures yet.

Hello all.
Did somebody came up yet with a better solution than Camera Zoom FX (can be paid)?
It could be nice to have something like FX, but with touch to focus, sharpness options and some video recorder (as a seperate app) which could do 720p (?)
PS. Is it just me, or is there barely any difference compared HTC 5 and 8 mpx cameras?

am using UCam ultra which is working fine with more light spaces. where as in less light you will be seeing blurred or some dark pixels...

Miui gb camera. You'll have to trouble shoot to get it working properly, but after that picture clarity is on par with HTC sense's camera.

Also Camera 360 is not bad either. A lot of options and good (I think) quality.
Still, in low light the pictures are quite bad, but I think that is a problem of the phone, not the camera app (I have tried several, the same result).

For some reasons, for all of apps above, there are glitches issue.
Ucam seems awesome, clean interface, useful features. Too bad it doensn't work, it restart right after I taken picture of it.
I think it's a kernel issue if Ucam is force closing.'Cause the app "use" the stock camera to take pictures. And if you're stock camera is buggy, a 3rd app wouldn't work. Tell me if i'm wrong

I get Ucam v2.3 force close only on Lord's IceCold. But works very good with Ucam v1.6.
JellyBean MIUI ROM ported for DHD has properly working touch to focus function with what seems to be the stock AOSP camera... It's a shame tho this ROM has many visual bugs, and using any other app that uses camera (instagram, barcode scanners..) is almost impossible as they give huge artifacts...
The question is, is it possible to somehow port camera used in MIUI JB ROM to AOSP ROMS and not f&^* up qcode scanners?

Using Ucam 1.1.6 on Lords ICS 8.6.1., works like a charm.

The circular one was for persons, so I think it either focuses twice, or tags the face, or whatever. There usually is a quite normal focus

This works for me (ICS). Mirror 5. Just pushed, set permissions and owner. Photosphere works, as well as the gallery and can view the captured sphere shot.
Camera Hangs
i dont know why the camera hangs after taking pictures
Keyboard working great
But camera pic quality seem not good...I feel CM10 camera quality is better than this

havent tried to edit a photo forgot about that. but yea everything else works for me too. im on elegancia so ill have to try to edit a photo later
Camera and Photosphere work great for me so far. only issue I've had is the FC when trying to edit. I'm running Dark Raider 1.5 with Faux 006 kernel.

This is great! The camera works pretty well. I had the camcorder freeze on me when I tried to take a photo at the same time as the video shooting.
The keyboard is excellent, except you can't add words to the user dictionary as it appears from the logs that the code to do that operation is missing for some reason.
Haven't used 4.2 camera on my vivid as rs been running cm10...but been rocking this camera on my infuse...love photosphere! Runs fairly well on my infuse all though photosphere rendering takes a few minutes (single core CPU...512mb ram...) can only imagine how much smoother and faster it would be on the vivid...or the nexus 4....

It's not bad, but there's limitations. Sphere doesn't render well with too many pictures on the vertical axis when making a flat picture and sphere viewer doesn't work. Also too, editing doesn't work, it tells me that there's no program associated with the button press. But panorama and all the other camera settings work great!
I am running wajee's de- sensed ROM, so I don't know if that's the cause of those items not working?

ok i have one problem with the keyboard ...... ( htc vivid -dedoxed stock ics rom)
when ever i select 'touch to save' a new word .. i get the 'unfortunately the android keyboard has stopped working ..then the keyboad comes off screen and i am left with the cut/copy/paste with the work highlighted. ...
i saw this elsewhere and i wondering if a similar action cant sort out ours
Go into menu/system/apps and find android keyboard asop and CLEAR DATA Then do the same for Dictionary Provider and CLEAR DATA.

Funny the camera app work when I install the apk but not when I flash the zip. The ZIP gives me "unsupported device". Newest PA rom BTW. and this is after two fresh flashes and wipes.

the zip is made for ics probably thats why it says unsupported

Check your build.prop settings. You may need to adjust those to get everything up and running.

Flashed the camera zip on CM10 and everything functions perfectly! Photosphere is smooth, panorama is smooth, and editing functions just fine.
I use GOkeyboard so I guess it doesn't really matter to me what the 4.2 keyboard is, but it does look cool!

Photo sphere needs a gyroscope to work so it would work only if you have one.
Even having a gyroscope doesn't guarantee it but it's a pre requisite

well... tried it on cm9 nightly... camera opens, shows for a sec, then FC
the gallery works well for viewing photos, but no luck editing it... FC too
This phone doesn't have a gyroscope. You can check for this using this market app- Android Sensor Box.
