I did.
I already own this keyboard that's on this thread (since a year or something). But it is not as convinient as this one I'm showing for iphone.

Actually if we can get such a keyboard for hd2 will be amazing..

The older post seems to be dying anyway. I've been searching for months for a slide-out keyboard for hd2, but there seems to be no such product. I guess that, because the original W6.5 OS didn't have good support for such peripherals, there was no interest.
What has baffled me, is that there's no "generic" solutions. There are a lot of BT keyboards, but none with an adaptable slide-out case.

I wonder if maybe this could just be modified to attach to an HD2 case...? I can't imagine it'd be that hard.

Stock Exchange app to HTC Touch Diamond

Hello!
Anyone know if there is a Stock exchange application on the Touch Diamond?
Just like the one in the IPhone.
Feltherre

*sigh*
Im getting used to that response. Theres simply nothing new these days that works WITH the Diamonds VGA screen rather than against it.
Im seriously beginning to wonder why I bought a Diamond.

Okay so whats the solution for the stock exchange app then? There isnt one.
There are no damn apps being developed anymore for WM especially on high end VGA devices.
I too would like a decent stock exch app.. if im moaning over nothing, point me in the right direction and i'd gladly shut up
Well it wasn't a good app.I better just wait for a better app to come a long.

I can only see about 1/2 of the cells vertically. I guess it only works if you reduce your text size in windows... but then the phone itsn't finger friendly anymore.
yes,i also have that problem.
Try this:
http://www.pocketx.net/products/pocketstockmonitor_ppc/index.html
I used on my Kaiser and use in my Diamond...
Works perfect.
It has only one issue...
SOmetimes, when you starts the program, there is a fade on the screen... But you have only to press the power button twice and the programs goes well...
Would be great if HTC Home has a tab for stock exchange and share price update. HTC did it for weather, why stop there. Stock price should be next.
Yes,i agree. Hopfully a application that will work perfectly with the TouchFLO 3D.

HTC Touch and Android

Hello,
Apologies if I'm in the wrong place (again).. I'm trying to buy a new phone and would love to run an android port on it. I'm currently looking at Sprint - at the HTC Touch Diamond ($199 after rebate etc) or the HTC Touch Pro ($299.. less desirable) the sprint site doesn't mention a querty keypad for the Touch Diamond.. Is it fair to assume the Touch Diamond is not a good candidate for android - or is there a touch screen keyboard now?
I'm really sorry if this post is off topic.. I've been all over the intertubes trying to find a good smartphone that will effectively run an android port (I'm well aware its under heavy development) that will atleast make phone calls (or should be able to soon). If the Touch Diamond won't work - can someone recommend a different phone?
Thanks,
Keith
Well seeing as the HTC magic and Hero are both non qwerty it would be safe to assume that there is an on board virtual keyboard.

If you read the last sentence of the first paragraph - you would notice I'm referring specifically to the android port.. I got my phone already, thanks.

HTC Keyboard

Anyone know anywhere I can get a good step by step guide to replacing the samsung keyboard with the HTC keyboard?

you do not need to remove the stock samsung keyboard.
Download this to you pc, unzip it. Copy both files to your device.
At your device go to the folder where you copied the to files, install them both.
Go to settings -> Locale and text -> check HTC_IME mod is selected.
Now go into some application where you can write somethins, for example sms. Touch the writing filed and hold it until a menue popĀ“s up, touch "Input method" and now select HTC_Ime mod.
Done.
They should mod this so you can still keep the samsung keyboard
Thank you very much, very helpful

Not everyones native language is english, german or french ;-)
I don't know which ROMs you use but Swype on my phone has just about every european language you can look for.
That's just not true for my device. There is no bulgarian, no slovenian no serbian for example.
Using jg1.
Bulgaria and slovenia are even in the european union.
I love the HTC keyboard, it is so much better than the Samsung one, also I used swype for about a week and I just didn't see the big advantage but that's just my opinion.

Swype I find awful, I've given it some time but it's so restrictive especially when dealing with URLs and email address etc
I've heard that this should be better since it has the multitouch thing where you can hold one button (letter) down and still type.
Droid X Keyboard Port.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709519
I have just tested this droid keyboard and it is much better than htc becouse of multitouch support. Too bad its doesnt have my national letters included so i cant use it.

Has anyone noticed that the built-in samsung keyboard also has multi-touch? Press down a letter, and you can still type. It doesn't seem to work for Shift + a key, but it is still multi-touch
I've been using the vlingo keyboard and I like it a lot.

Yeah that's true but all other keyboards are just as bad for that so I don't see why that little inconvenience should rob you of the great experience swype gives for all other purposes.

True, but it works for one letter only; so you can't press shift to type a whole word like you can on the Droid X keyboard.

[Q] Phone Keypad/Dialer input for Gingerbread?

Using the Aosp 2.3.2 Gingerbread....lovely ROM, however I hate the keyboard. I think I had this problem with a CM build as well but didn't keep around long enough to care.
I've been using the phone keypad for text input for years and don't want to change.
Are there options?
Huh? Are you talking about T9? Smart Keyboard Pro has a T9 function I think.
no im talking about this...
well, I'm not awesome enough to post a link yet apparently. It involves installing the htc_ime.apk
This just force closes everytime I tap on a box to input text.
I want the dial keypad, of course with T9. As seen in attached.
Did they get rid of this altogether? Or is it just this rom?
just checked SmartKeyboard...trial version. yes that's what I was looking for. Never saw that as an option in any searches.
Thanks, I'll continue to play with it, but it would be nice to have the HTC Input work being that it is free and all.
HTC anything won't work without htc frameworks (as inside an htc/sense rom)
Google this "flext9 keyboard apk hvga". I believe it has what you need as well as a swype-like function AND a shapewriter-like function. I can't upload it for you from my phone but you might have luck with google.

Try dialer one its free in the market. And I think it has what your looking for.

There are several applications on the market like Evenbetter (paid app) or Better Keyboard 7 (free) that have the input you are looking for, which is in and off itself called "T9" text input. Just do a search in the market for "T9" to see your options.

Keyboards for HTC One M8

Hello there
I tried to make a quick research of a sliding bluetooth keyboard case for the M8 but apparently I got no result.
The only thing I can find is the Alibaba's keyboard for M7, that is not sold unless you order some hundreds items.
I'd really love to have a case with a built-in bluetooth keyboard, wouldn't you?
Any news is welcome.

I just tried my HP Touchpad BT Keyboard that I've had for a while and it worked perfectly. So this is good news because it wouldn't work with my DNA without a custom kernel. In the past a lot of standard keyboards have not played nicely with Sense. So I suspect this means we are good to go with most BT compatible keyboards that play well with Android & AOSP generally. Cool!

Good to know but I was more into a sliding case, so I can bring it with the phone. Just in case.
Sadly enough I think I won't have my wish realized.

I made a request to Boxwave on the day the M8 came out to create one of their Keyboard Buddy sliding cases. Maybe you should do the same so they acknowledge there is real demand.

Took a quick look at the site. Is there any request button there, or do you have to send them a email? I'd do my part in telling them there's a demand.
