Have been running CM-6.1-RC1 for sometime and wanted to update to CM-6.1
After updating, the phone keeps rebooting itself, it brings up the G1 ( T-Mobile ) screen for sometime, then blanks and reboots itself, and so on
Restoring from backup works fine, but that brings it back 6.1-RC1
Any ideas what might be causing this ?
I tried wiping the cache's , but that doesn't seem to change anything
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Nevermind
Realized I was running the RC1 of 2707 port, ( update-cm-6.1.0-RC1-DS-2708port_S ) and trying to update update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed !!
Updating update-cm-6.1.0-DS-2708port_S worked fine
This is what happens when you try to update sometime after midnight!

When I try to enable WIFI on my G1, for a couple of seconds it says: enabling WIFI, but then the phone becomes unresponsive (for about 1 second) and it reboots.
IIRC the problem started when I upgraded to the new CynogenMod ROM (4.1.99, but not sure), but it doesn't seem to be linked to the ROM.
I have always used CyanogenMod and update with every new version.
I tried to go back to the default HTC rom, but this doesn't solve the issue.
Does anyone know what may cause this or give me some tips on how to debug this?
I tried to run 'adb logcat' but it shows no info.
The exception browser in the CyanogenMod is also empty.
I don't know what else I could try.
Some extra info:
HSPL 10.95.3000
Radio 2.22.19.26I
CynogenMod ROM 4.1.99 is not the newest. Wipe, flash the htc image, flash cyan's newest and try wifi again.
No, I know, but I think that's when the problems started.
Latest version I installed was 4.2.13
I have installed the RC7 dreaimg.nbh now (used to root the G1), and when I try to enable WIFI on this rom, the phone doesn't reboot, it keeps working, but I get an error saying that WIFI could not be started.
I'm also having problems with wifi causing random reboots. For me it usually happens once a day if wifi is enabled and not at all if its disabled. Once the phone reboots, it hangs at the android screen and I have to do a battery pull to reset it. The problem also appears to be rom independent. Very weird, it has started happening in the last few weeks and I can't think of anything that has changed.

This is consistent with my experience as well. By far, the VAST majority of spontaneous reboots that have occurred on my phone have been when using wifi. Some of the older Cyan ROMs were really bad about this, but this continues to occur (although much less frequently) regardless of the ROM. I am presently using SuperD and have had one reboot in the past week.
This seems to happen most often when using the wifi heavily; for instance, I get a reboot probably every 3rd or 4th time when I'm doing my weekly podcast downloads. I don't remember any reboots when just surfing the web or downloading apps, though.
I have never had this happen when I was running cyan.
Are you wiping everything? Even EXT and dalvick?
Are you using any other apps when this is running and rebooting? Perhaps an offending app?
You should also open ADB and run ADB Logcat and try to replicate the issue and try to get a log submitted so the dev can help determine what is causing this issue.
I wiped everything and even without any apps installed, it just reboots.
adb logcat doesn't show a thing when the phone reboots, it just exits.
Ok so here is my issue i was on 1.2 superD and when i try to turn on my wifi it reboots my g1, so i did a wipe clean install and tried again still the same, then i tried to run fix_perm then try still the same issue and since i wipe everything out i figure might as well update to new SD-rom so i flash danger , the flash supD 1.8 and tried to turn on wifi and still no go there, any have any idea what mite causing the reboots when trying to turn on wifi, i know it did work at one point, and i cant return the phone, open to ideas or suggestions. im think is hardware failure.. but i could be wrong too
any ideas anyone
same problem here. I messed with tiwlan.ini a couple of times and my htc dream AKA T-mobile G1 reboots every time i turn on wifi
I have pretty much the same problem, except my phone hangs and then reboots when i try to turn Wifi off using the pull down bar.

same problem here on htc legend. i know there was no problem before i flashed a new radio, but going back to the old radio doesn't help things.

Hi,
I have a problem,,, I have a rooted tab, I installed some apps... and recently I have been getting "process com.android.mms stopped unexpectedly"... after which, my WiFi doesn't work, Bluetooth doesnt work and some apps start to force close.
I tried to remove the apps that force close by themselves like PowerAmp but i am unable to unistall! when I try to unistall, Superuser also forcecloses.
I have wiped the device clean 3 times so far, re rooted, reinstalled the clockworkmod etc... it works for a couple of days then starts crashing again!
is there a way to find out what is causing this...
thanks.
Are you using a t-mobile tab? And if so are you using it as 2g + phone?
I use to have the same issue. It didn't stop happening for me until I started using a custom rom.
I am using a custom Rom. It was working fine.
I suspect it is an application I am using that is causing this. but I cannot figure out which one!
Guys, someone please help... After I reinstalled the RoM etc... I just got the same msg today!
Process com.android.mms crashed and followed by whatsapp and photobucket and wifi doesnt work etc etc..
Are you sure your flashing the rom correctly, it should fix these errors, or download the rom agan, maybe your download is corrupt
Yes... it has been working since my last Flash which was April 15 without any issues.
I downloaded some apps from Market yesterday and today I restarted the Tab and when I did I started getting the MMS error again.
When this happens, I am unable to Uninstall any apps, clear cache or data from Settings/applications, or do anything...
Even my previous Backup which was done in Recovery mode is not there :S
There must be some fix for this... Its really frustrating.
I deleted MMSSMS.DB file and still I get the same errors... Seems like an app that I installed received a msg or something and that msg is corrupt... If I didnt know any better, I would think its a virus!
try a factory reset , i hope your problem will go
touch screen on milestone stopped working right after downgrade from CM7 to 2.1 or even 2.2 and now when i try to go back to cm7 i get this weird bootloop
I've got a similar issue, but not permanently. I'm using stock froyo and for some reason touchscreen is not working or working improperly after turning on screen from lock. I need to wait a couple of seconds, turn on the screen once more and most of the time it's fine. Any advice?
both of you,
format your SD CARD/PARTIONS when you are downgrading.
some files from previous ROMS can be affecting the STOCK ROM functionality when it starts fresh after fresh install.
happened to me a couple a times,
just reinstalling (properly) solves this issue.
Right... so my phone, for some reason most of the apps on my phone decided to start crashing. Usually on startup I have to hit force close on about 15 apps. I had never until this point flashed my ROM, rooted my phone or anything.
I started of by trying factory reset but it didnt reset anything. I had to run the setup wizard (all the time the apps were all crashing) but when it finished I was still seeing all my apps. So i thought it might be a good idea to uninstall all the downloaded apps but when I do so they just come back when I reboot.
I have since tried flashing the firmware and rooting the device as per the instructions on android soul to flash to 2.3.5
However I am still facing the same problem. Right now I can't get past the setup wizard crashing in a loop.
Any idea's or advice?
