hey all
So I've been messing around with the LG Revo and I've rooted it and attempted to get CM7 running on it ( no luck )
basically I just would like access to my Revolutions internet connection
Is this currently do-able?

Hey guys,
Trying to help a buddy at work unlock his driod1 - he updated to FFRG22D - now any of the single click root methods do not work..
My phone is a nexus1 and did not have these issues: As I am not a Droid owner / user I am hoping people in the forums here help to get him rooted.
I would like to get him on to ClockWork - so we can flash CM6 on his droid.
Can someone point me to a good guide to rooting this?
Cheers,
hey if he is OTA FRG22D can you please post his build.prop file for me to take a look at, it can be found under /system on phone memory, i am working out a market fix for rooted frg01b users like my self, i wont update until after frg22d is rooted for real but i can spoof the version and fingerprint if i have that file contents
i found what i was looking for after a while, thanks.

Have you had any luck? My buddy had his phone replaced and the new one has this update, but he would like me to root it again for him.
can you not just download the old froyo, put it in the sd as update.zip, flash that then root?
FRG22D hotspot app
I have the OTA FRG22D stock unrooted. In-order to root it, I used the following procedure, from droidforums:
"Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version". After installing the custom recovery:
"MC1_A855_1282081087_Recovery-Only_SPRecovery_0.99.3b.sbf", I was then successful installing a wifi hotspot app

So to root I just rename the file to update.zip and install it that way?

The one click root apps do not work with FRG22D. The exploit those apps used was patched with this release.
The FRG01B & FRG22B stock/odex/deodex only work for devices that are already rooted. Meaning that if you do manage to imstall them you will not have root.
You need to do a *sbf* back to 2.1 or2.01.
root droid regardless of os version.

look around for motocache post
Installed latest stock
Flashed Sprecovery
Flashed his package which roots and disables the attempt at the droid to unroot
well, ****. I'm new so I can't post outside links yet, but go to droidforums and search "[HowTo] Root, Deodex, and Theme Droid Froyo 2.2 FRG22D"
worked fine for me, no issues so far.
Use the rsdlite process, hold the x down on your phone when it says rebooting

I'm new to the Droid 1 I came from the Eris and it is easy!!!!
Okay so I did it with out even having internet on my pc or Linux laptop which thank god I finally got internet today!!!! Use the rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin method... Super easy I actually downloaded using my D1 transfered file from my phone to Linux laptop and changed the Windows commands to Linux commands and it worked and then I went in to market and flashed Clockwork!!!! Oh and yes I'm on FRG22D the phone came as a replacement for my Eris and it already had this build on it... PM me if you have any questions...

It doesn't.
The method that RodNoc_eR just mentioned above just worked for me. Here's the link again: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/74028-root-droid-1-regardless-os-version.html
for those of you who are doing this the complicated way, THERE IS a ONE-CLICK METHOD, since I cant post links, Google SuperOneClick, download and find instructions, its pretty much as easy as downloading the .zip, extracting it to where ever you want, right click on SuperOneClick application and Run as Administrator, make sure USB debugging is checked, DO NOT mount as USB storage device, click root button on the program, let it do its thing, and wa-la!
You have acheived root! Be sure to download the Custom Recovery of your choice, which is as easy as DLing Rom Manager from the Market and flashing ClockworkMod, I just did this and am now happy I spent time searching and not typing commands into the SDK, super easy and it works for the DROID 1 FRG22d, I just did it.
Enjoy!
Alrite guys I'm getting the captivate on Friday and I've been reading and relatively keeping upto date on the rooting methods but why go thru all this trouble I already downloaded the beast update.zip file and the one click root unroot. My revo is on broken out 1.1 and zv8 and Bluetooth was working for me until I installed and used crazy home lite. Now Bluetooth doesn't work, but if I back up, wipe and reflash 1.1 without installing crazy home it works again. Just for sh!ts and giggles I reinstalled crazy and lo and behold no BT again. I'm about to reflash BO again, just wondering if anybody else has experienced this or knows of a work around. Anyways, love all the work the devs have put into this phone. Besides this little snafu w/ crazy home it's like a brand new phone. Can't wait to see what mtm has in store for 1.2
im right there with you. I flashed Broken Out 1.1 yesterday and bluetooth worked... since yesterday I installed some more apps through Rom Toolbox and something keeps breaking it! I would really love bluetooth to be working again.
I think I have my problem figured out. I went through on a fresh install and added things back one at a time and checked bt after each addition. I had justfrozen my ota update and then bt stopped working. I defrosted it and now it works again. Is there a way to disable the system update without freezing it, like maybe change it to .bak?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
My BT works as long as I don't turn it off. Once it is turned off I must defrost the update app, start BT, then refreeze update app. It works for me

heres the fix, and il'll quote MT as he originally posted this in a different thread. This fix does work btw..
"Alright to those who want Bluetooth and to stop the update use root explorer and go to /system/lib and rename libdme_main.so with .bak. You will get a force close on initial boot and the occasional flash but it should stop the update and keep Bluetooth "

I cannot seem to find libdme_main.so anywhere let alone in system/lib/.

What are you using to browse your file system? I see it there using the root browser in ROM Toolbox.
Rom Toolbox here, too. Still can't find it.

2 questions:
Are you still properly rooted (have you checked with Root Checker?), and when you select root browser and scroll down does it even show you system?
Yes.
and Yes.
Rooted, on BrokenOut 2.0. I just update to v9, then rooted, installed cwm, BO 2.0 and still can't find it. I don't need to do this now because I'm up to date but would like to know how for future referance.

I verified my rooted stock ZV9 does have /system/lib/libdme.main.so with Root Explorer. Odd you can't find it. Or, is it not in Broken Out 2? Maybe that?
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk 2
That could be it. I'm on BO 1.1.
Whoops. My bad. Thinking back to when I was on BO 1.1, last week, the Software Update would notify me of the pending update and successfully downloaded it. I refroze Software Update and didn't let it go further. Never did check if libdme.main.so was present.

So, back to the update issue, how to keep from updates running other than freezing Software Update?

Hi guys, So I'm looking for a bit of help with this one.
I'm currently on 2.3.4 with root only for the purpose of using the hotspot with our grandfathered unlimited data plan. Now if I allow the update to ics I believe I will loose my root from what I've read. So the big question is, does foxfi really work with out big red knowing? Or will I have to root ics to get that back? Funny thing is when I try to verify my current root it gets denied super user and says I'm not rooted but I can still use my hotspot.......... Thanks in advance!

Reroot using motofail that should fix your superuser problem. Foxfi works great have not needed to root. If you still want root just use Razors edge. Also I had to be 100% stock no root to update my bionic to ICS.
I was able to get the native hotspot hacked the same way as it was on GB. Sqlite app needed.
I went a week ago to get my wife a new phone so her plan was upgraded to a 2gb plan and i still have unlimited, the guy said i was using 26gb a month but nothing he could do to stop me so go with it
