[FIX/MOD] Huexxx's Nova v8 Stuff ... - LG Optimus Black

Hi all again!
I've created this thread in order to add fixes and add-ons for Nova v8 ROM.
* Wrong OC Fix:
- This fix restores default freq/volt config in order to restore a blocked system from a exagerated OC/UV.
- Download it form title, flash it at CWM and that's all.
* Huexxx's Nova v8 Mod v1.4:
- This mod modifies nova script in order to:
· Make the navigation inside the script a little bit faster
· Directly view the currently active preset from presets submenu
· Simplifies the custom preset submenu. Now you only have to set the 4 frequencies
· Simplifies too the preset and simple overclock. Now voltages are auto established. (v1.1)
· Adds the possibility to enable/disable AUV (AutoUnderVolt) script on boot
· Adds the possibility to set the Auto UV Depth to control the voltage drop on boot (v1.3)
· Now you can view auvlog instead to run UV once (v1.4)
· Directly view the currently active freq/volt config from overclock submenu. It shows freq(vsel/calib) for each state. (v1.3)
· Directly view the currently active governor from governor set submenu
· Directly view the currently active I/O scheduler from scheduler set submenu
· Optimize a little bit the general aspect- Adds AUV script:
· Avoid to undervolt the max frequency if it's greater than 1GHz (v1.1)
· Take the lower voltage values from calibrating-recalibrating process to ensure the best UV (v1.2)
· AUV script uses the specified auto UV depth. Setting it to 0 the script ensures that the calibrated voltages are the minimum recommended by smartreflex system without do any undervolting on it (v1.3)
· Optimized timmings to ensure the calibration values are correctly stablished (v1.4)- Modifies /system/etc/init.d/11nov script to support AUV feature
- If you are using AUV you can see the log at /data/nova/auto/auvlog or within nova script's overclock submenu (v1.4)
- Adds /sdcard/nova/ocfix.zip to flash it if OC goes wrong and get a bootstuck
- Automatically disables SBT on installation (v1.1)
- I recommend to keep disabled SBT (Standby battery tweak) if you're going to use UV or AUV features.
- Feel free to use this mod altough you are not planning to use UV or AUV.
- Download it form title, flash it at CWM and that's all.
* Stock Nova v8 Restorer:
- This package restores default nova scripts and deletes all the extra stuff added by my mod.
- Updated to ensure all is restored with mod v1.3 or later version.
- Download it form title, flash it at CWM and that's all.
* Superuser downgrader:
- This package downgrades Superuser to latest stable 2.3.6.3 version.
- Download it form title, flash it at CWM and that's all.
* Nova v8 Kernel Source Code:
- Nothing to comment, it speaks by itself.
- Thanks to knzo.
Regards!

UV Testing:
* 6 serial Quadrant Standard with Power Tutor Monitoring
I've tested the battery consumption with and without UV in order to see the differences.
The test consists in a 6 serial Quadrant run and 3 times repeated for each configuration.
The common parameters are: 900, 700, 500, 300, InteractiveX, sio, wifi enabled, data connection enabled, wcdma only. In all cases I've rebooted and waited until governor had been settled.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Looking at the results, the power consumption with AUV activated is lower than the stock situation. LCD and WiFi consumptions are linked to parameters that aren't related to the MPU voltaje; then the interesting results are the power drained by the CPU. Also, the absolute mean quadrant scores shows that there isn't a descent on performance, or better said, the descent on performance is negligible taking into account the fluctuation in quadrant scores.
* Battery lasting with light use
Parameters are: auto UV on boot enabled, 900, 700, 500, 300, InteractiveX, sio, wifi disabled, data connection disabled, gsm 2g only. The use consists on: two or three vioce calls per day, some sms, some photos, some visits to the gallery, the alarm every morning, radio allways on.
Regards.

Thanks, I will download it later

Basically you get:
- A little bit modified nova script. Little bit faster, with certain things simplified, but fully operational.
- The possibility to try my UV and AUV scripts (If you want...)
- The possibility to restore default OC if things go wrong flashing /sdcard/nova/ocfix.zip
Thats all at the moment.

how make this?
can u explain for me how i put fix mod

Do you have Nova v8 installed?
If positive answer... install this stuff the same way you installed Nova v8... from recovery... install zip from sdcard... select the zip and flash it!
Regards!

Question,
Huexxx, do you have kernel source of Quasar v8?

This FIX/MOD solves the problem with the SU? Today, probably, the 25-th time returned with Nova-8 on Nova-4.5, because on a level place hung Dolphin browser. Just once in a run SU-application.

If still having problem with SU, then it's better to downgrade SU, because Nova v8 including SU beta version, so perhaps you can use the stable version. Can you apply that, PaulBort?

[TUTORIAL][SCRIPT] V6 Supercharger Memory Fixes

I did not make this script, i only stumbled across it and wanted to share
-Thanks to zeppelinrox for making this script
Original Thread by zeppelinrox
Requirements
Rooted
Busybox 1.8.2 or lower
Rom that supports init.d
Benefits
UI is much more responsive (less lag)
More free RAM
Recommended
Install Script Manager (easier to work with than terminal IMO)
Step 1: Run the script from Script Manager with "Run as Root" option selected
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 2: Pick the scrolling speed
Step 3: Pick 11 or 12, performs the OOM Grouping Fixes (zeppelinrox recommends Hard To Kill)
-REBOOT-
The following step is setting up the minfree settings. You can select 1-9 for the preset values, or choose 10 and set your own.
Read the OP from zeppelinrox's thread for more info on what these do and tweak them to your liking.
I personally use 6,10,35,50,65,80
Step 4: Pick 1-9 preset values, or pick 10 and enter the minfree setting for each slot
-Done
sounds good, will try later
thanks!
Anyone try the script?

applied it to my phone, so far so good. getting no issues. will report back if i have any issues.
[EDIT] heres a quick overlook at what the minfree #1-6 will adjust as far as free memory goes.
FOREGROUND_APP: Current app that you are looking at.
VISIBLE_APP: A visible activity to the user.
SECONDARY_SERVER: This is a process holding a secondary server
HIDDEN_APP: This is a process only hosting activities that are not visible
CONTENT_PROVIDER: This is a process with a content provider that does not have any clients attached to it.
EMPTY_APP: This is a process without anything currently running in it.

I tried this script but it forced closed everytime I ran it in the script manager.
I tried the update8 of the script, ran good, after reboot checked status, nothing changed, maybe i was doing smth wrong?

removed Talon and put Serendipity Kernel 4.1 and huzzah! (just kept the default minfree for now)
might want to add this step in the OP. not sure how important it is.
•After installing, run the app, press the MENU button and go to MORE and then in ADVANCED OPTIONS and now in CONFIG and leave the options marked exactly as shown in the screen below:
Browse as root is not default, have to check it.

Seems the kernel optimizations in the script don't play well with Talon. The minfree settings shouldn't be a conflict though

I think thats only needed if you have the script stored in a location where you would need root to access it...(ex. /system)
Been playing with this on miui. The min field does not appear to have much effect but the 3g super charger linked in ip of original thread appears to have a nice d effect.
Top score and bottom three with
Second score without
Sent from my I897 using XDA Premium App
You need to correct the OP. There is no Busybox 1.8.2 it is 1.18.2
I also tried the 3G TurboCharger (works from HSUPA too) and my DL speed went from about 4.1 kbps to about 4.8 kbps on JJJV5 modem. Not a huge, HUGE increase but if some people are having issues with slow download speeds you might want to give it a shot. Remember to always make a backup before you try anything on your phone, no matter how "safe" or "unsafe" it claims to be.
**I did not apply or try the Kick Ass Kernel Tweak Installers
If on CM7 I'd recommend getting hard to kill plus megaRAM 2 imho, been running it along with turbocharger and kernel tweaks, on Glitch's kernel and they are sticking when I boot up even after the past couple nightly's. Also with supercharger some custom roms-as it states in the help file.
"There might be something in the init.d that interferes with priorities and minfrees, if you can't find the problem, a quick fix is to have script manager run /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger, "at boot" and, "as root."
Nice tutorial.
Note that you don't need to run option 11 or 12 first.
Running options 2 - 10 will always apply HTK launcher by default.
If you want bulletproof, run option 2 - 10, then run option 12, then reboot.
chrisz5z, I think it would look cool to show a screen cap of your menu after running the Cust-OOMizer... since Option 10 will then look different
Edit: I made a change to 3g TurboCharger that needs testing...
Edits to build.prop...

Difference between this and update 2:
ro.ril.gprsclass=34 (instead of 12)
ro.ril.htcmaskw1=268449905 (instead of 14449)
I've actually seen gprsclass=32 in the past but 12 is the most common setting so I had used 12.
After researching today, seems that 32 would indeed be better than 12 BUT there is a new gprs class 34 so this would be a first for testing it at 34! (as far as I know) lol
So, I'd be interested in seeing if this is better than the 3G TurboCharger update 2 tweak!

[APP] NSTools v1.16 for managing various Ezekeel's MOD and tweaks

Search for 'nstools' in market, its FREE
You can manage this tweak:
- BLD
- BLN
- BLX
- CPU Governor
- Custom Voltage, now also support uv_mv_table (some kernel still use this)
- Deepidle
- Liveoc
- Max/min scaling frequencies
- Touchwake
- CM Led
- IO scheduler selection
- Fast charge toggle
this app will restore seting on boot,
so you don't need to create/edit init script

Source code:
https://github.com/arifhn/NSTools
Notes:
- If something bad happenned and you want to reset NSTools config,
install reset_nstools.zip in recovery (if its not work, try to mount /data from recovery menu before applying the zip)
- If you want to switch kernel, i recommend to uncheck 'restore on boot' setting.
It will reset to default kernel setting. You can recheck that after reboot.
- starting in v1.8 app will detect kernel version on boot, if the version has changed the settings will be discarded.
- The new permission on v1.12 and up: read contacts is used for detect missed call. You can check the source code on my github to make sure this app don't read/send your contacts data.
- read this thread about CPU governor
- for those who have problem with smartassV2 governor settings, ask your kernel developer to patch their source, see this post

Wow, nice tool, thx!
Great work.
I will not include Screen Dimmer in my new reference kernel since Touch Wake has the same functionality and is the better solution. Also I recommend that people use Touch Wake instead of Screen Dimmer. So you might want to consider removing that.
Maybe you can also include LiveOC and Custom Voltage. Also an interface to idle_stats/reset_stats for DEEP IDLE would be awesome.

If the kernel you are using does include the 100% charge 'fix' the maximum value is 100; if it does not, the maximum is 96.

Are you guys struggling to get good performance on Jelly Bean?
Are you sick of cleaning up the system after flashing a new ROM?
Do you want to do something simple like surfing the internet, without having to watch the battery percentage going down with every second??
Then this ROM is for you lazy bums. From the developer of Badass Kernel, coming with a hell lot of tweaking, a clean system, a new kernel and a stupid "commercial-like" introduction, this ROM will make sure you get out your phone every 2 minutes just to admire its coolness.
So, getting into serious business..
This rom is based on CM10.1.0 nightly and my Badass Kernel.
Features:
24-step Volume
Zipaligned and fully optimized system apps
Apps2SD integrated with zipaligning everytime a non-zipaligned app is installed
Clean system, stripped of unnecesary libs and apps
PureAudio engine tweaked to work with any equalizer (you gotta try DSPManager's Bass Boost now)
Dolby Virtualizer activated at boot through snd2354 binary
Youtube app with MP3 and Video download integrated
Patched Services for better multitasking
Updated Superuser and Zipalign binaries
Eliminated SMS-to-MMS conversion when reaching 160 characters, added message pop-up
Latest Multi-DPI Playstore included in GApps version
Android's Native Task Killer values tweaked (no need for minfree script or ram manager)
zRam, zCache and Kernel Samepage Merging fully working and activated(no need for swap anymore)
Perfect Keyboard
Undervolt, Underclock, Triple Buffer and all the other modifications present in my kernel
Really lightweight modified Zeam Launcher
Gapps included
New fonts optimized for LDPI resolution
New proprietary theme
LMT Launcher Pie Control
Smoother SystemUI animations (you have to apply Lenio theme to get these, I can't integrate them in the system yet)
v3
Replaced Perfect Keyboard with zipaligned LatinIME
Added NexMusic player
Resized zRam disk
Tweaked LowMemoryKiller parameters
Enabled vSync(hopefully)
Added Smooth Scrolling in framework.jar
Set correct permissions to /sd-ext folders inside the A2SD script
Updated kernel to 1.6.1
Added LowBattery Powersave feature for Badass governor
Badass parameters are more performance biased now
Recalculated Frame Buffer Size for Triple Buffering
Clean-up(remove deprecated CPU governors)
Backport Adaptive RED Net Scheduler from 3.4 kernel
Replace Snappy Compression with the much faster LZ4 Compressor for zRam
v4
Rebase on latest CM10.1.0
Update compcache script(now zRam can be activated from Settings->Performance->Memory Management, it is not activated by default anymore, but it is recommended that you enable it)
Integrate StatusBar smooth animations in the framework. The theme is just for whoever likes the look now.
Whole system Odex-ed
Update kernel to latest version
vQuattro 30/06
Update base to latest CM10.1 nightly
Add Touchpal with LDPI optimized theme
Change SMS Popup layout
Re-think services.jar values for better performance in detriment of multitasking
Adjust minfree values to suit the new services.jar values
Add Now Playing player
Re-optimize apps with a higher threshold of optimizing(goddamn, this took 6 hours)
Take down the NoGapps version to avoid weird bugs(to get a NoGapps version, just delete everything that starts with Google in /system/app after boot)
Update kernel to 1.8
Add SIOPlus scheduler (finally something equal or better than deadline)
Add CPU Idle driver to support C4 Deeper Sleep state
Add Wheatley governor to make more use of the new C4 state.

Change CPU governor to Badass or Smartass to get rid of the lag
Apply Lenio theme in ThemeChooser for a fresh new layout
Be amazed!
PRO Tips:
Use SmartassH3 or Badass with 68-652 MHz and Deadline I/O for good performance/battery balance
Enable zRam in Settings->Performance->Memory Management
Disable logging and notifications in both SuperSU and Setting->Superuser for a performance boost
Check Disable HW Overlays in Developer Options (NOTE:This option resets at every boot)
Install CrossBreeder from my kernel's thread
..to be continued

It depends mostly on the kernel, the performance settings and the strength of the signal(GSM, 3G, EDGE).
I did my best to get a really good battery life in my kernel, but even I get battery drain if I download something on poor 3G signal.
Don't worry about stand-by, this ROM has the best Deep-Sleep management. I got 1% drop in 7-8 hours. Just be sure you turn off the data connection when you know you don't use it.
Nice job:thumbup:

Yes, this is a known bug. It's because of the changed fonts. Does it bother you that much? I'm trying to focus on performance and battery first, I'll get to the layout later.
But fortunately, that's the only place where it's occuring, in the DeskClock app.
No it doesn't bother me that much i care on what's under the hood & yes layout can be fixed later

How to move app in ext4? Help pls
hello everyone, can you tell me what recovery are you using?
alin.p nice work
wow great rom thank-you... maybe developers could use 'Lightning Launcher' as the system launcher instead of 'Zeam Launcher' as Zeam is no longer under development. Lighting Launcher is only 221k and for it's size it has lots of options and customization... must admit takes some time to setup but once you know how to do it its pretty cool... give it a try http://bit.ly/111XAiW

If you have an ext4 partition on your sdcard, you must also have a folder named sd-ext. The apps will be automatically installed there, no need to move them. Check if you have the sd-ext folder, it's in the root.

Zeam is not developed anymore because it doesn't anything more. I didn't choose it for it's apk size, lightweight means how much RAM it needs to work, not how small the apk is. And I tried lightning too, it is a very good launcher, but it uses much more RAM than Zeam and it needs a bit of work to get it the way you want it. Zeam is an out-of-the-box launcher and that's how I want my ROM to be also I'll keep Zeam for now.

No, it's for anybody because it's really easy.
I don't like set hardware with app, then for basics settings ( governors, schedulers, frequences and voltages ) I did an easy way to modify without app and then be sure to be compatible.
Don't hesitate to ask me
Ok

Nope, it's a script to set clock speed, governer, etc.
It's basically SetCPU or ROM Toolbox's CPU control, or other cpu control apps, without installing an app...
Has this been tried out on a safe strapped device yet? Looks promising might give it a go when I get home tonight. Thanks OP!
so if this is like an app besides it being script what sets this apart from an app like setcpu the gov's??

I believe the idea behind OP creating this is that it may be easier for some to utilize these scripts rather than installing an app to control your kernel's settings.
In my opinion, this thread should belong in development section, but if other devs agree that this provides "significant improvement in the means of operation", then by all means keep it here.

I did that because i was tired to search good app ( compatible ) with kernel wanted.
Then this working on every kernel.
Not need app for apply on boot, use folder init.d, I prefer that than an app opened in cache.
I've made this for me and after i said to me : " why not share ? ".
Maybe i'm not in right section, sorry !

Don't get me wrong, this is great work! Thank you for sharing...
On that note though... I always get a little excited when there's a post in "Original" because I think there may have been a breakthrough and we somehow miraculously unlocked the bootloader, or something else ground breaking. This is good and all, but not at the level I was expecting in this section. Again, I could be wrong, if other devs deem this as "Original Development".
Isn't this the right section? Coming from originally a Nexus S back in the day all we had was a section for Original Android Development, when I jumped over to the GS3 there were two sections, original and then just plain development. Plain development was developing roms around manufacturer software I.e. roms based around Touchwiz, or Touchwiz mods. Original Development was based around original designs based of of AOSP, I.e. CM, AOKP, Paranoid Android, etc. In my opinion he has made a custom script that can be used on most kernels, not locked into Touchwiz, making this his Original Android Development, right? That's just my opinion, once again thanks OP for bringing new development and as you said sharing with everyone else!
Anyone got any good recommendations for settings on the stock kernel? I haven't really messed with it because coming from the Gnex bot the performance and battery life of this phone just blow it out of the wager.

[KERNEL][AOSP][LINARO-4.8-O3][N80xx][UNDER/OVERCLOCK][FAST CHARGE] MM_alpha-0.6

Hi guys,
since we haven't got any kernel for our omni roms I've decided to make one. For now it's just an alpha but to me seems pretty stable I'm releasing here as a test. Please report what do you think. It's based on "stock" omni kernel with overclock (for now I'm using this commits https://github.com/marco9333/androi...mmit/1d75a501447e609dbb412c350d79ac1ef720a630 and https://github.com/marco9333/androi...mmit/36cf4ca9c78144f336dad4af88049b4a6bf59fac but from next release I'll try @humberos commit https://github.com/humberos/android...mmit/5f768f943d0c420860575e22756b58ff64f0c596 as he suggested See changelog below).
I've tested on Omnirom and @nerdyblonde reported it is working on Carbon, feel free to try on any AOSP based rom (not Samsung based)
Features:
An awful name (I'll try to find a better one)
Different versions for n8000 and n801x
Overclock up to 1600Mhz (booting max freq is 1400Mhz) and underclock to 100 Mhz (booting min freq is 200 Mhz) -> version 0.2 and newer
I've added a (temporary) my commit https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/9555/2 to force cpu frequency range to stock values (I'll decide about merging this in omni rom official builds)
Version 0.1 built with different flags and toolchains but from the next one I'll use only linaro (maybe I'll try sabermod too) See below
See changelog
TODO:
Add fast-charge -> I've almost finished this, I hope to post an update soon (maybe today) DONE
Add underclock (100 Mhz, see humberos commit above) Done.... version 0.2 and up See below
Change installing script to solve possible dialer problems with some roms (unpack modify and repack original boot.img I'll use https://github.com/ModdingMyMind/boot_manipulation but I'll need some time)
Add more schedulers and/or governors (???)
Tell me what would you like to have and I'll think about that
Add thanks to all the developers

HOW TO INSTALL
(*optional) Make a backup (or just keep the original rom zip so you can reflash that to go back to stock omni without losing data)
(*not optional) Use this at your own risk I don't take responsibility for any crash, excessive heat, forced reboot, and whichever problem you could have
Flash the zip in recovery, no need to wipe anything, reboot
Thanks to:
* Omnirom team
* @iofthestorm (is the one who ported and made our devices official with omni)
* @humberos (underclock)

CHANGELOG
Version 0.1
Initial release
Version 0.2
Added frandom(See https://github.com/Ryuinferno/frandom-android for reference)
Added underclock down to 100Mhz (Thanks to @humberos)
Added more build flags (Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36693600&postcount=9 for reference)
Version 0.3
Added fastcharge support in kernel drivers(need some testing to check the best currents) -> Disabled by default but can be enabled anytime without reboot(Maybe an entry in Advanced settings??? See next post)
https://github.com/marco9333/androi...mmit/b3e4981b88be28d59ab01052cf3f66d5e411c88b
Added support for ntfs and exfat filesystems https://github.com/marco9333/androi...mmit/27b3a545c6651fc89fd8a1eaf0bc801dc6222b09
Now powerkey should switch the screen on faster (no lag between pressing and screen on) All credits to https://github.com/dsc-team/dsc-team-kernel-project Not working
Added some patches from linaro, they should give more battery juice-> got about +400 points with antutu if you believe in benchmarks... I don't
Version 0.4
Changed mounts flags for system,data,cache and preload (with antutu I had about 300 for storage I/O now is around 980-989 with cfq, got better result with row, test it if you find some improvements)
Added some patches from linaro (see my github)
Increased i2c speed with wacom digitilizer(I'll test this tomorrow)
Increased sampling rate of wacom digitalizer (S-PEN should beis smoother (IMHO))
Added init.d script editable by user to set cpu frequency,fast charge and s-pen tweaks(for now)
Fixed Broken charging animation when the tablet is off (I will merge this into official omnirom after some testing, maybe I'll release here before as a preview, if you're curious https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/9658/) ->
Merged into omnirom, if you're using omnirom now this fix is present "by default", if you have another rom the fix is still installed with the kernel (Report if not working)
Backported xpad driver (xbox, xbox 360 and xbox one controller support) from linux 3.17 (Needs testing)
Backported ps2, ps3, ps4 driver from linux 3.17 (Needs testing)
Other minor changes

Reduced hdmi out resolution to 720p and set hdmi audio to 2ch (Quite useless now since hdmi isn't working)
Introduced compiler flags from JustArchi's github and switched to linaro-4.8.4 (should give a performance boost)
Version 0.6
Enabled previous added SMT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simultaneous_multithreading)
Patches for conservative and ondemand governors
Added zzmoove governor
Enabled more governors (interactive and adaptive)
Other small changes (check my github)
Source: https://github.com/marco9333/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412 and https://github.com/marco9333/android_device_samsung_n80xx-common
How to temporary enable fastchargeYou need a rooted device but since you're using a custom rom I assume that you have it
Download a terminal emulator app on google play store
Open it, write su and press enter(superuser or supersu should popup, grant root access)
Write echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge to enable
Write echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge to disable
Done
This settings will be reset on startup, if someone is interested I can write a init.d script to set fast_charge on boot just let me know DONE. See below
Stock charging settings AC -> 1800 mAh USB -> 600 mAh
Fast charging settings AC ->1900 mAh USB -> 1500 mAh
How to set kernel parameter on boot (Version 0.4 and up)
You need root and a root browser (like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree)
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 99mm_alpha file (it's a plain text file)
All the settings are commented
First section is for cpu frequency set on boot (by default max freq is the stock one so no overclock, try to set it with a kernel app, if everything is alright you can after modify this file)
The second section is about wacom pen, choose the sampling rate you prefe: higher means more smoothness, but possible higher battery consumption
Last section is for fast charge change the 0 in the last line with a 1 to get fast charge enabled at each boot (you should have echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge)

I haven't got time to try on other roms but should work with every AOSP based (like Carbon). You can always try it just flash in recovery: if the boot is ok then it's working, if you got a bootloop you can go to recovery and reflash the whole rom without wiping so you won't lose your data (I think doing a backup is better, just in case)
I can confirm the kernel works on Carbon Rom.. Underclocking works great... I don't overclock though.. Thanks for compiling this for us!
Thanks for taking the time to create it and thanks nerdy for testing

Phone fc is quite strange since you are using a n8013 which don't have a modem. In n801x version of the kernel isn't included the modem driver, so this is the cause of that force close IMHO. You can try two things:
Go to settings-> apps-> all-> dialer-> disable -> reboot and check (now phone app is disabled so it shouldn't crash since is not running)
Or download and flash n8000 kernel. (with the modem drivers so the process can't complain anymore)
I have a N8013 as well.. I didn't get any force closes.. I uninstall all system apps I don't use, the dialer being one of them.. I flashed thru TWRP.. Hope you get it working
Ok that would make sense since I never uninstalled the dialer app. Never needed to lol I will try and report back. Thanks.

Couldn't even get there. The FCs happen too quickly. After closing a dialog it immediately appears.
When the message appear do not close the dialog but try to pull down the quicksettings and go to settings from there... If this won't work I'll add a script to kernel zip to clean dialer data (if possible) so you can easily flash directly without further actions

Thanks for this Marco, it works great here- Omnirom on a n8013. :good:
Is there any chance you might take over the omnirom development now that iofthestorm is out of the loop? He mentioned he was up for helping someone who was willing to continue the work on it.
