You can, but you have to flash the JQ1 stock-safe v5 from team overcome, then you can flash any gingerbread rom/kernel after.
Hi Guys,Im From India.I need some help regarding flashing.I am currently on DDJV9 2.3.3 with galaxian kernel. So,my problem is when 2.3.4 is released on kies, can i directly upgrade my firmware having galaxian kernel,i mean without removing the kernel can i directly upgrade my firmware via kies.
I am from India too and i have a custom rom which I installed on top of 2.3.4 Europe release! Didn't had any prob. Regarding using different region version! U can find stock 2.3.4 on samfirmware. Com the procedures easy just follow the steps calmly!

hi everybody. i have a p1000 and i am wondering what is the correct software i need to download in order to go from froy to gingerbread? it says jk5 jj7 kernel 2.6.32.9 and i am from greece . when i do the thing with the IMEI i see it is using COS. thanks for you help as you proably realize i am a complete newbie
Go to the stock JQ1 gingerbread prepared by Chainfire. Use the version with the bootloader. Then flash the Chainfire v3.3 rooted kernel.
From this, you can flash any other rom you like.
i suggest you follow this guide http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?page_id=64
Hi all, I am currently having problems making/receiving calls / txts and I am looking to flash a new modem to my Samsung Galaxy s GT I9000. I am currently running a Gingerbread XXJVS 2.3.5 Rom and I have read that changing the modem may help with my signal calls/txt problem.
However I am unsure of which modem file I need to use with my current Rom and also I am unsure on how to flash the new modem to my phone? Just wondering if one of you galaxy s Gurus can help me out?
These are my settings now on XXJVS
Model No GT-I9000
Firmware version 2.3.5
Baseband Version I9000XXJVS
Kernel Version [email protected] #2
Build No GINGERBREAD.XXJVS

Flash your providers modem would be best if you're having issues
