--Install from package--

Problems in recovery mode

Hi, first post so go easy on me if this has been asked before!
I'm basically having problems in recovery mode. When I try to do a Nandroid backup there is no option for it. When I select reinstall packages the status says failed to install update.zip or something along the lines of that. Same thing happens when I try to flash a rom. Anybody know whats going on?
Did you install cwm recovery using rom manager?
Yeah I did. I flash the latest version with rom manager. I see the update.zip in the internal sd card folder but im still getting the same message.
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Did you flash the leaked froyo? If so you have 3e recovery, and clockwork recovery will not work. You will have to flash back to stock using odin. You can find it in the captivate development thread. Make sure you are flashing jh6. All of the custom roms have fixed this problem with the recovery not working with clock work
If you are not on the leaked froyo I have nothing
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I'm almost sure he has to be on Froyo. 3e recovery requires signed .zips which is where he's having the issues with.

A bundle of problems when trying to flash...

Hello, everyone. This is my first post so excuse my newbliness, if any is noticed...
I've been trying to flash my Mini for quite a while and all I got was a series of epic fails. The ROM that I was trying to flash is the Unofficial CyanogenMod 10, by rohan007; to be more specific, Unofficial CM10_15-12-12, which is the latest update, I think. I was using Cyanogenmod Recovery Image 5.0.2.6-tass which worked quite fine, giving me the advanced options and everything, but each time I would try to install zip from sd, I would get the following error:
~some incomplete log text above, not sure if it matters~
/E:Error in /sdcard/customrom/CM-10_15-12-12.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Of course, I followed the exact instructions on how to flash a custom ROM; Clear cache partition, Wipe Data/Reset, Clear Dalvik Cache, etc...
My phone is rooted, by the way. I used the universal_gb_root_v25.zip to root my phone, since it was the only method that worked.
Then, after further investigation, I found out that the image version 5.0.2.6 sometimes fails to intall a custom ROM. So, I found the ClockWorkMod Touch Recovery Lilg Version for Galaxy Mini, CWM TOUCH 5.2.0.8 version. And when I flashed it, I just got "Install from sdcard completed" log message. Since I didn't got any advanced options, I tried to flash the ROM by selecting the option to apply update from sdcard and yet again, I got the following error:
~again, some incomplete log text above, not sure if it matters~
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Then, when I rebooted my system, my phone got stuck on the Samsung GALAXY mini GT-S5570I text and now, every time when I press the power button, it keeps doing the same! I'm seriously getting frustrated here... Anyways, I can only go to the Android system recovery, and the Cyanogenmod system recovery and that is it. Also, I can still manipulate my data from the sd card. (Move and remove files from it, I mean).
One more thing about the Android system recovery. Now I get the log text saying:
-- Appling Multi-CSC --
E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
And obviously, I did something(s) wrong in the whole process, so I beg you to help me resolve this issue. Thank you.
If you need any additional data about the whole bundle of problems, I will be more than glad to post them in my next reply.
see if odin detects your phone, and reflash cwm.

ODIN MODE works, reflashing only works with image version 5.0.2.6...
As far as I know ...
we can't flash CWM in GT-S5570i
we can use in temporary only ....
this mean we can use CWM 5.0.2.6 in CWM mode and after reboot the phone goes into original CWM mode.
What I would u to do is ...
If u can go into CWM recovery mode then wipe data / Factory reset
if this doesn't help ...
Go into download mode and flash with original firmware using ODIN ...

For the CWM, I know. You have to flash it every time on reboot on the android system recovery to get it working.
I tried with factory reset several times and that did nothing. Download mode, also nothing.
So the best solution for me would be to find the stock firmware on the internet and flash that. I'll tell you how that went...
Also, when I try to format system, I get an error: "Error mounting /system! Skipping format... Done"
So for the future, is there any other way, besides CWM, to do a full, complete wipe of the Android OS?
Don't flash gts5570 roms on gts5570i for gawds sake, unless you want to brick your phone...

Eh... It's too late for that now... Darn it. Any good methods on how to unbrick it? And, can I take it to the service shop to let them fix it?

if your phone gets detected by odin, just flash any official firmware from samfirmware.com and it's done. if not, hopefully you're still under warranty, then only samsung service center can help you. play dumb, don't mention rooting, flashing, custom roms and such...

YAY! I UNBRICKED MY PHONE! All is working just fine. Now then, if anything gets seriously wrong, I know what to do. Thank you, yackovsky, for your help.
It seems that all of those errors were caused by me trying to flash GTS5570 ROM on GTS5570I.

GT-s5830 boot loop

Hi my friend has managed to put their phone in a boot loop, they would have not tried to flash a custom ROM, and when it launches it boots into the glowing samsung logo, does that for a few minutes then reboots and repeats, When I put it into recovery mode i see this:
--Appling Muti-CSC --
Can't access to '/system/csc/H3G/system

Not too sure what I should do, she wants to try to keep the data on it, but she wouldn't mind to much if I need to wipe.
Thanks in advanced

he tried to flash a custom rom without a CUSTOM RECOVERY AS CWM5.0.2.6 FIX???
You can't flash anyrom without it so, flash CWM first and then try again
When you'll flash it do 3 wipes if it doesn't work flash a fresh STOCK rom via odin and cross your fingers

But can you use the recovery mode? to see yellow text at the botton is normal in 3e stock recovery... but well you can flash root file and then cwm(custom recovery) in order to avoid the yellow message and do wipe to skip the bootloop
Maybe doing 2 stock wipes, factory reset and cache, you don't need nothing more to fix bootloop so try booting into recovery and do wipes amd reboot fist
I'm experiencing the same problem in my brother's phone and I can't seem to figure out what's happening.
Flashed stock rom using odin but still having bootloop :/

Samsung logo on loop after flashing rom

Hi guys! I've rooted my samsung s3 gt-8190n, then i tried to install the cyanogenmod rom. But something went wrong. So I decided to flash the original firmware with Odin. After that the smartphone goes on recovery mode and appears:
Install untrusted package? this can not be undone
-no
-yes
Clockworkmod recovery v6.0.2.7
E:invalid command argument
finding update package
opening update package
verifyng update package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
I choosed the yes option and rebooted the smartphone. Then the samsung logo goes on loop and it doesn't turn on..
What I have to do? Is this a brick?
Sorry for my English! I hope that what I wrote is enough clear.

Yes, I've done every kind of wipe. I'll try installing ROM from recovery. But I think it won't work. I've already tried with a version of Cyanogenmod

Well since you're out of options i suggest complete wipe, flash rom through recovery, wipe again then try ... leave it for like 30 minutes to 1 hr to boot , usually takes a lot (took me 20 min)

DM-Vertify Verification Failed. Please install DRk First

This is regarding the Samsung Note 4 Model SM-N910T from T-Mobile.
Recently I got an update from T-Mobile and after that the phone started freezing and restarting. I tried the below steps and I am worried that my phone is of no use now. Kindly let me know if any solutions to solve this problem.
After restarting multiple times, I tried updating the software update from Kies and of no use.
Then I followed the steps in most of the forums, Flash ROM using odin.
Download odin 3.12
Downloaded N910TUVS2EQB1 from different forums(sammobile, samsung-firmware.org)
Updated with AP Button in ODIN.
Result was PASS and after that phone restarted multiple times.
At the end, a menu will display with the message as DM-Vertify verification Failed. Please install DRK first.
Tried downgrading the earlier versions as well, but of no LUCK.
Reached samsung service center and they tried to do the same by using the kies software and said cannot be done anything with it.
I think most of them went through all these steps, can someone in this forum bring back my note 4 in working condition.

Well I've had this phone for 4 days and I had this happen while playing around with ROMs. I'll tell you how I fixed it. Flash twrp pull the battery after success then boot to recovery volume up, power, and the home button. Wipe dalvick, cache, data, and system. Flashed this ROM and gapps and I was good to go. https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-aicp-11-0-t3315759

yes jammol. I tried multiple times, with multiple ROMs thinking that there could be some problem. Each time I tried I made sure cleared the cache, data, system and did factory reset too. Tried with ROMs as DynamicPop, Resurrection Remix and AICP. followed with GApps after flashing each ROM.
The mobile keeps restarting after Samsung Galalxy Note4 logo.
Am I missing any step, or should I try any other ROM.
Can I go back to default ROM given by samsung even after the KNOX warranty is voided. At present the KNOX warranty void showing as 0x1.
I'm wondering if you ever found a solution. I too started having the same freezing and restarting.
I use the Note 4 n910t T-Mobile phone on the At&T network. This started happening on exactly Aug 28th, which AT&T says was the release date for N910AUCS2EQH1.
My phone did not, and has not updated to this version. I'm at N910TUVS2EQG1.
Coincidence???
I've done no modifications to my Note 4 (n910t) prior to this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
