Hello Adrianoxx,
Please read this nice guide how to debrick your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134975
Also I recommend JVR, but pay attention to have boot loader included.
You can take a rom from Ramad collection. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881.
Give a thx to them for the nice job.

So steps looks like that:
-flash with I9000XXJPU to replace the DBDATA + pit512
-check if error still exist
- if it is ok (should be) flash a new rom which you like (+bootloader if is newer) BUT whitout repartition.
Please confirm us if is ok.
Good luck.

E: Can´t mount/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
E: copy_dbdate_media: Can´t mount SDCARD:
I tried wipe data/factory and wipe cache, but the problem persist.
I tried flash dbdata.rfs but the problem persist
I tried flash after jpu, speemod 13 kernel, when use this kernel phone but and working good but can´t mount internal or external sd-card. This interesting, like the a stock kernel can´t mount system partitions. but speemod do.
Thanks for reply more one time...

Damn, My phone wont install stock rom!

Hi,
I was on darkys rom, I installed honeycomb theme on it.. which had some issues and my phone was in constant reboot loop after that. I couldnt go to recovery or anything. only the download mode was working.
So I flashed DDJP6 it gave me following error its giving me same error even if I flash using DDJPY or any other stock rom.
after I flash my rom this is what i get on 1st boot when it goes to recovery, please help.
============
Update media. please wait E:Cant mount /dev/block/st110

E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount db data:
your storage is not prepaired yet. please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.

Flash a 2.1 version with repartition on! (maybe 2 times if first time don't work)
Then flash a 2.2 or 2.2.1 version without repartition on...
PS: Everytime before flashing with odin put off the battery once first!
Good luck!

I think the point is not 2.2/ 2.2.1 .. The OP needs an odin flash with separated csc, modem and pda files plus a corresponding pit file plus repartition ticked.
I believe that this error happens after a odin flash with repartition ticked AND there s only 1 pda file (without the modem and csc things).
(is there a way to post in the android development without having to post > 10times @ other subforums ...? -_-)

[Q] A nice brick to build a house with

Has anyone got a solution to my I9000 paper weight?
I was running 9.5 Darkys rom and my phone crashed while in my pocket for an unexplaiined reason. I tried to reboot and it was looping. I then might have made the noob mistake of trying to flash my way out without disabling the darky kernal lagfix.
Any how, whats done is done. I have flashed my phone with the 9.2 resurrection and tried to flash back to a stock rom. I've flashed via odin 1.3 to I9000XXJPO with phone_JPY and CSC_XEE_JS1. I have download mode and Android 3e recovery, but i cannot format my internal SD card to get the following;
E:can't mount /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:can't mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI me nu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed.
Does this mean it stays a brick? or can it be fixed? What's my options?
You need to get a firmware with 3 files, PDA, CSC and Modem. Flash with pit and select repartition.
I dont know your level of expertise, but the general instructions are easy.
In the past, I've bricked my phone. Providing you can get into download mode, you're fine. Flash EZ rom (follow his instructions properly)
Then follow Darkys instructions properly!
I had the same problem and I fixed it.Try the suggestion above, try diferent stock versions until you find one that has a dbdata.img
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Well as darky bricked yet another phone i would have thought it was a lesson to be learned .

Like Manosv said, repartition only work if you have "full" ROM with all partitions files, you're lacking the dbdata.rfs so this error is "normal".
Thanks for the replies.
I've tried a few firmwares no luck so far. I'll keep trying. I've followed the guides on darkys and they didn't work.
Maybe you could try the fix from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140
I have not tested this fix myself and it seems to solve a different problem, but still it is worth a try.
What worked for me was to flash any speedmod kernel, and apply an lagfix to create a working filesystem.
Hope it helps!
Thanks for all the suggestions, unfortunatley they didn't work. Worth a try tho.
odin crashed as i was flashing a stock rom and now it won't even boot. **** it, that's the last time i buy samsung. The phone was pants without customisation. Darky's roms were cool, it made the piece of crap bearable.

Sounds like you just want a reason to get rid of your SGS.
I am 100% sure that if you follow the instructions here to the letter you will fix it. Just make sure that while you're flashing the ROM in Odin3, you have 512 pit and repartition on.
The general rule (in most cases, anyways) is that as long as you can get to Download mode, you don't have a 100% brick.
Edit:Oops.. you already tried that
Sell me such high quality brick for $10 lol
Sent from my Inspire 4G.
If you have "!" while trying turn on then take out battery and insert back in while holding tree buttons to put the phone in download mode. Hope you get download mode

I learnt from darkys rom it bricked my phone updating to 9.0 a few months back wouldnt touch them with barge poll now
I will sell you a resistor for something like 10 cents....it's all you need...
Ok. I won't sell...find it on your own, should be relatively easy...it is ultimate solution...tried it.

Talking It's Alive! - Can't mount /dev/block/stl10 fixed.
Hey All,
Got it all working again.
Repaired: Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
the fix: A full firmware (pda/csc/phone/pit) flash w/repartition.
Flashed w/repartition - I9000XXJP2.7p. (the only FULL firmware I had on-hand)
on reboot the system does a media check and was successful in reformatting and mounting the internal SD.
Phone didn't like the ROM and still logo of death, but..
A quick Jig into Download Mode..
Flashed I9000UGJL2_homebinary_add_param.tar with no repartition
(can't remember if I used .pit).
And Success!! my phone is alive and running 2.2
Everyone should build/get a jig
There is nothing more awesome than being able to force download your non-booting phone.
I could not have done this repair without one.

story:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982729
jig:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983612
when flashing back with a lagfix enabled.. disable the lag fix
what i just read here is the problem that i had faced aswell
tried to go back to stock while the lagfix and partition table was changed
so instead of rfs it was ext4
and everyone knows that an stock rom with stock kernel cant read ext4.
repartition doesnt change partition properties of rfs /ext 4
sorry for the bad grammatics, "tipsy while i was typing"
fixing it is to change the partition back to RFS when going back to stock or changing between custom roms
ps. if its still not clear let someone translate it to understandable sentences
Or just flash a kernel with ext4 support

Have you flashed 3 file stock rom with Odin plus repartition checked and pit 512. Then done a second flash of same 3 file stock rom with repartition unchecked and no pit file?
XXJVU
Tri flashed XXJVU firmware.
I've had this error and this saved my phone! Flash a stock ROM (I used 2.3.6 xjw4) then boot it up it will not load up but then turn it off after everything has finished put it into download mode put this file in the PDA section of Odin and flash then watch your phone come back to life! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140

Not sure what xgamer Rom is but I found generally if you flash a stock Rom with Odin, a pit file and re-partition checked you should flash the Rom a second time without the pit file and have re-partition unchecked. Hope that helps
