There is a bug here in mango RTM 7720. To test it.
1) set screen to auto brightness
2) open the camera app be pressing the camera button and switch to video mode, let is focus.
3) press the back button to close the app
4) repeat the procedure. Whenever the phone is restarted
U will now see the screen dim . Somehow I am not sure , but after doing this my battery life has improved . So there is a bug somewhere that is disadvantageous to battery life.
not sure if it's related to the hd2 wp7 hack where they do the same thing. Most likely than not this is probably relate to that

Is there a better app for the camera, the default one is so slow and bluring/lagging even in minimum hand motions?!
Thanks
not at the moment. It sill lags in dark areas
there is a temporary fix though
1. run the camera app
2. next, press the power button to go into sleep mode. Wait for a few seconds...
3. cover the lens so no light goes through and press the power button again
wait a few seconds and then remove your hand or w/e u used to cover the lens and the camera should run smoothly (but it will be a bit dark)
..
Is there anyway to keep in this mood? I rather it like this!!!
did you ever experience this?
also if i long press on a live tile, it goes green before getting into edit mode, most noticeable in the zune live tile...
(i have the green htc theme)
are these normal bugs or should i return my phone?
I have had that Green flicker before lock screen well
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using Board Express
hm...but you don't have the other one, when you longpress a live tile, right?
Anyone else? i cant figure out if this is one of those bad glitches related to faulty gpu, or only software bugs that (hopefully) will be fixed...
sad that the update didn't fix it, microsoft said that was a chance for oem to include device-specific bugfixes
I notice the green flicker too, happens once in a while, but not on tapnhold for the zune tile...
Hi, i have Omnia 7 and experiencing some kind of the same problem.. When i wake up the phone it flicks my home screen and then it goes to the lock screen.. Thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-947033.html
Try to set your brightness to automatic adjustion.
My problem appeares when i have brightnes set to manual adjustion and on medium level..
Hi All,
I've just rooted my phone (my first root) and installed Nameless ROM v7.2 Build 5 with the 806Mhz image. Right after that everything seemed to be fine. But later on the wake up function for pressing the power button stopped working.
The symptoms: Phone goes to sleep mode for pressing the power button (screen goes blank), but when I press the power button again nothing happens, the screen remains blank. If I press it twice in fast succession, the lock screen appears for a fraction of a second then again it goes blank. The only way I can get to the lock screen is if I start charging it, then I remove the USB cable, and press the power button. (but it only works right after that) Pressing the power button also works the very first time after automatic timeout.
I'd appreciate any ideas on how this could be fixed as besides that Nameless and the OC image seems to be rather awsome.
Hi, Well there could be many reasons why your phone won't wake, to rule out one does the power button defiantly work?
If it does it could be that your cpu goes too low in clock speed to sustain waking the phone, I think you should try to get an app called setcpu which is found on xda for free and higher the lowest clock speed like so:
806mhz-806mhz
806mhz-4xxmhz
806mhz-xxmhz
then 806mhz and the lowest one
Doing this will let you figure out if it is infct the cpu causing this, post back with your results.
Good luck.

I've tried setcpu with the four settings listed above and the scaling parameter set to default (ondemand). The problem persists.
To answer your question: the power button definitely works, I can lock the screen with it, initiate shutdown/reboot, it only doesn't function properly when I try to wake up the phone with it. I've also noticed one thing: the 'charging via USB'-'unplug'-'press power' unlock method only works if I don't wait too much after unplugging.
I've tried insalling a different locker (Holo locker) and I wasn't even able to unlock the phone anymore.
Can the htc locker itself be corrupted? Can it be somehow reinstalled?
FYI: I have Autokiller installed but it's currently set to system defaults. Also my battery isn't calibrated yet (I'm not sure if that's relevant). And I have Llama installed and running in the background.
Can it be related to the System off and lock app? It is installed but it doesn't have root access.
Thanks in advance for your help!
This might not be related , but could you tell me what display brightness level you are currently using? If you are not using auto brightness try using that option and retry locking and unlocking the device.
Might be also due to the screenoff app.Try uninstalling it.

Thanks for that nikhil, you've just saved my phone . The issue seems to be solved now. I've also tried with all the brightness settings you can set up with the Power widget - all of them works fine. But if I tweak brightness in the Notification bar - Quick settings, the problem appears again. I guess I'll avoid that slider in the future.
Thanks again!

I had a similar problem when i was on stock rom and after a lot of searching found out that it was related to the brightness level we set (Dont know why this problem arises though)
So...Happy to help
The problem is linked to the brightness level
As pointed out by a member 2, this issue is related to the brightness level we set on this phone. I used to have the same problem when i changed the brightness level to the minimum but eversince i increased the brightness just a fraction the problem seems to have dissappeared.
I still dont why it happens
Just a question...
Did anyone having this problem commit a "dirty" flash or any other ROM flashing that didn't involve a full wipe? This may explain this conundrum.
I just got my XZ1 Today and straight away upgraded to 4.3.
I am having problems with the brightness, I have turned the 'adapt to lighting' setting off, but each time i go to my home screen my screen brightness goes down, it also does the same when I go to the last page of the app draw. This also occurs when starting games, the brightness will go down in the loading screen and then go normal when the game starts.
Is this a bug/issue, or is this meant to happen? If its the former, is there a fix
Sorry if this sounds newbie
Thanks,
Alex

I don´t think that this is normal !!! Maybe you should do a factory reset: settings ----> Backup&Reset ----> Factory data reset Before doing this you should save your data, e.g with pcc (PC Companion) Hupfully I could help you
PS: Next time questions please in the Q&A section please
I think it's normal, this option is called something like "Optimized Backlight". It could be turned off in one of the earlier firmwares, but that caused random reboots so Sony decided to make it an always-on option and removed the entry from the menu.
Optimized Backlight adapts the brightness according to the displayed content, the more crowded and vivid the picture is the brighter the backlight gets.

I forgot about this Option, but in my case I can not notice any brightness differences in many situations
I did not like the stock brightness controller so I have installed Lux Auto Brightness from google play and its working perfectly
So I've been having an issue with auto rotate for awhile now. If I restart my phone it would rotate for the first 2 or 3 minutes then stop. If I needed the screen to rotate I would have to do it manually but today I find a solution. Its been working for over an hour now so I'm thinking it's a fix to some extent. I will not restart the phone as yet to see if it reoccur not yet anyway.
Now for the Instructions on what I did
1.boot phone normally and wait till screen stop rotating automatically.
2. Do a sensor test by dialing *#0*#
3. go to sensors and check if any numbers are at the accelerometer
4. Boot into safe mode
5. Open sensors again
6. This is important part. Boot normally and b4 screen stop auto rotate turn off auto rotate and go in sensor test.
7. Press graph in the sensor test of the accelerometer and move the screen around watch if the graph moves up and down.
8. Allow the phone to stay in the sensor test for as long as it would have taken for the autorotate to stop working. Mine would have been 2-3 minutes as I said before.
9. Exit the sensor test by double tapping back.
10. Enable auto rotate.
Now your phone should be rotating automatically based on my results. Hope this helps. If mine continues to work I'll give an update and if it stops well ill give an update but for now it's working like it should. Let me know if it helps.
So after weeks of trying to figure this out I've found what's causing the problem. Not sure how to fix it. When the phone stays on the charger the rotate will stay on if it's not rotating while it's on then simply plug in ur charger and then restart and once ur charger stays plugged in then it should auto rotate. So in my view I'm thinking there is some electrical problem or lack of power or some how it's linked to the USB port. Please try it and report if u get the same result.
