[Q] Boot Loop - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After several unsuccessful attemps at rooting my Captivate SGH-I897 v2.2 with Superoneclick, I decided to use Odin to get it back to factory 2.1. After it was restored to factory. I went to superoneclick and tried to root. It rooted successfully, and passed the SU test. Upon rebooting my captivate, the att world phone splash screen loops. I have no idea what happened or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

google maps update semi bricked G1

hey guys
i upgdated my google maps app today and during the process my phone froze up and when u used adb logcat it had shown that my phone was in a loop with something like "system/lib/libdvm.so" and stays in that loop forever. ive tried restoring it using nandriod and it doesnt do anything, the last restore i had was before i flashed which was pre cyanogen 4.1.99 and it doesnt do anything when i restore it now that i was on cyanogen 4.2.12.2.
i can still get into recovery and ive tried reflashing cyanogen 4.2.12.2 via this method:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Upgrading_From_Older_CyanogenMod_or_other_rooted_ROMs
and it still just hangs at the libdbm.so loop anything i can do to unbrick the phone?
ive tried to restore it, nothing happens and it just hangs at the rogers logo adb logcat just "waiting for device".
thanks ahead of time!
nvm figured it out...was one scary experience haha..

HELP!!!!!!! Stuck in boot loop on STOCK

Hi everyone,
I am honestly at a loss. I tried to flash back to stock using Odin (not the one click) because I was having multiple problems with my custom ROM. However, after Odin did it's magic (I got the green sign with PASS) my phone rebooted into the blue screen (Samsung recovery I assume) then I hit reboot phone now, it got stuck in a reboot loop! It won't go past the Galaxy "S" logo at all, or it flashes the "S" then the screen just goes black. Fortunately, I can still enter download mode but about nothing else, not even a recovery screen or anything. I am running a Rogers Captivate 2.2 (or at least I flashed back to stock 2.2 successfully according to Odin) but I can't actually check since I am on a reboot loop.
Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP?
Thank you so much!
Just reflash stock. Unless there is a good reason you are not using the one click odin I would use it
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
What's ur phone batch number? U wud be able to find under the battery in the format YY.MM
Problem solved...
Entered recovery mode, had a brain flash, reformatted internal card and wiped user data. Worked like magic. I am an idiot. Thanks for all the help though!

Help! Captivate Boot Loop

All,
I had rooted a Captivate recently for a friend and installed CM7. After about a week, my friend decided to go back to stock. Prior to rooting, I made a backup of his stock rom just in case. I then showed him how to restore via Clockwork if need be. Tonight he came in to work and wanted to restore to stock, now he is stuck with a boot-looping Captivate. Now the phone sits at the AT&T World Phone splash screen. I've tried and tried all night to get the phone in DL mode so that I can use the One-Click ODIN restore but to no avail. I can't seem to get the phone in DL mode no matter what I try. Whenever I attempt, the phone simply reboots to the AT&T splash. Please assist if available.
P.S. When I plug the phone into any USB I get a circle (reminiscent of the Android loading spinner) in the center of the screen.
Assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

thats not how clockwork backups work...those are to restore your set up to the way you had it once you flash the rom it was backed up from thats why hes looping. you would odin back to stock THEN restore and it would be like he never flashed anything at all.
build/buy a jig that'll for sure get you int download mode.
Loop
I'm getting that same loop screen. What I did was use odin to restore my captivate back to factory because the 2.2 update wouldn't allow me superuser permission. After it was back to factory I rooted with super one click. It was successful but when i went to reboot the att world screen looped.
Help please
superoneclick works fine on 2.2.........you had no reason to go back to 2.1

[Q] Phone wont boot after unrooting.

I rooted my galaxy using a CF kernel while on android 2.2. The root was successful but the Wi-Fi stopped working, so I decided to unroot my phone. The unrooting didn't show any error in Odin and displayed "Pass" but got stuck while booting at the model name image. The only thing I can do right now is get into download mode. I've tried rooting and unrooting again, and even though it "Passes", its still stuck in boot.
I have rooted and unrooted my phone before without any errors. What do I do?

Tried to flash and upgrade a 4.4.2 AT&T SM-G900A using Odin - won't boot now

Hi everyone,
I've had numerous problems with OTA updates with my AT&T SM-G900A since I got it. I'm not in the US anymore and my phone was unlocked, so I thought "hey, how hard could it be" and tried to flash it.
I used the following binaries that were posted here a couple of days ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/g900aucs4cpa2-odin-files-em-hot-t3372388
I ran them through Odin3 3.09, and got a PASS - but the phone is stuck at the boot logo screen ("Samsung Galaxy S5 Powered by Android" screen).
Download mode still works, but normal booting, recovery booting and safe mode do not.
Any suggestions on what I could do?
EDIT: I used the stock image located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714455 to reflash it using Odin again. It seems to have worked, though all sorts of apps were crashing. I've just done a factory reset and am in the process of restoring it, but it seems promising for now. Never trying to update AT&T crap again.
Hey man, are you still having troubles? I just rooted my Sm-G900A, and then decided to use Odin to flash it with the 5.1.1 files. So this is what happened to me:
1: Flashed AP with the 5.1.1 file, passed but stuck at the Samsung Logo- Powered by Android.
2: rebooted into download mode and flashed "BL" or Bootloader with the 5.1.1 file and I got passed that screen. Now I'm waiting for it to optimize my apps.
My guess is after we flash the AP file we then have to flash the bootloader as well. So if you haven't tried that I'd suggest it to see what happens.
