please tell me what the feature of this ROM
Its a modified version of of minicm7 featuring GB 2.3.5. I havent personally tried it but many say that it is faster than GingerDX's ROM with more memory available. Also it is said that all features work (even camera full 3MP).

My personal question is: GingerDX vs GingerXperia ....... who wins?
hmm i think gingerDX because the GingerDX can use multiple module, i mean can use UV and UC module...
but in game mode GingerDX have a lag in my device.. but GingerCruzt and GingerXperia doesn't..
(sorry for my bad english)
i had GDX since version 007 and i followed that ROM until v13. Today i installed GingerXperia.
Although i do prefer GingerDX more i have to admit that with GingerXperia (with some tweaking) my free memory can reach 80MB while i couldnt free more than 50 with GingerDX. Also GingerXperia is faster in every day use....
But...for some strange reason....i will stick with GDX....
Hha you're right men... in gingerdx just 30-40mb max ram...
Btw are you use overclock module?
I'm using overclock 320-787mhz, vm heap size 32mb, and sd card cache 4096.....
how about you?
how about the compability?
many bug?i hear that v6 has a problem when receiving phone call.
in DX i dont use any overclock. in gingerxperia i use overclock 710, nothing else.
Both Roms are working without any serious bugs, i use GO launcher

is there anyone out there that are experiencing major lags on this rom?cause whenever i use an app after that my phone lags a bit,,and the games that i play before on my 2.1 eclair that are smooth lags badly on v21B,,i lag on paper toss simple paper toss i experience lag..is there something that i did wrong?i moved from gingerdx v19 to gingerxperia v21b,will formatting my SD card help?
I havent used that ROM for a while but I read something in its thread and I noticed people complaining about v21b. v22 is out so try that one if its laggy too go back to last version that was smooth for you. And dont format your SD card in wont help, try wiping cache from recovery.
im using that rom now with alfs v6 and i didnt experience any lag ..
i froze some system apps and used ram manager..it made my rom fast..
i didnt experience lag even when im using a live wallpaper with the arc launcher
i like this rom so much because of its xperia style
how do you freeze some system apps and use ram manager?..and whats alfs v6..sorry im such a noob just started using roms on my w8.
yesterday i flashed gingerxperia v21 but it was very laggy then gingerxperia v21b. on v21 RAM is very low then v21b. i think v21b is much better for me. i using OC 710MHZ, governonndemand, and its very very fast and smooth. antutu benchmark i've got 1700+ score with this combination.
GingerXperia Contact problem
I had shifted from GingerDX to GingerXperia and I am facing a problem when it comes to saving contacts.
When I type a number and save it, it saves it directly to the google account. Whereas GingerDX gives an option to save it on Phone (un-synced).
Is anyone here having similar problems with GingerXperia?
Download 'AntTek App Manager' from Market n freeze d app which u d't want..
Performace tweaking
ok ive tried overclocking and ram manager to boost my cellphones performance it made little improvement when playing but im still experiencing overall lag like scrolling and koading of widgets...any suggestions?
Can someone please help me with the GX problem? I'm currently back on Stock Rom
As per the custom Roms for x8, GingerDX by Doixanh is good or GingerXperia by XperiaFan13??
Or any other best roms for 2.3.?
Sorry for my bad english
Well it's all up to you. I'm using GingerDX and I'm satisfied with it. Haven't used Gingerxperia though.
Yap, there are tons of "What ROM" threads around you can dig up and read through.
In general it's way better to test the ROMs you've taken interest in yourself. People have different expectations, so it's really a matter of "taste".
I always used doixanh's custom ROMs because he always created the most stable and feature complete ones - at least in my experience. That being said, keep in mind that no custom ROM is 100% perfect and that different ROMs can cause different problems with the one or another app.
If GingerDX and GingerXperia are the ROMs you fancy then simply grab a copy and use each one for a few days ... in the end you will see which one fits your usage.
Ginger dx
it is the GOD of all roms in this forum (for x8)

I leave GDX for GXP. In my opinion Ginger DX become to much heavy for X8 and stock kernel. Ginger XP is lighter, faster and with a great look. Try it!

yes..my brother use GXP with stock kernel..but i like GDX
I would prefer gingerDX.

How do you mean heavy for x8. I have GingerDx on stock kernel. It works smooth and very fast. The only bug is in the QuickPic app..you cant scroll the first time you use the app.
Also I got awesome performance. And im overclocking on 710mhz and its very stable!
After using GingerDX for some months I came back to Shpit's XGin ROM (wich is being continued after some time). It's the fastest one, and it's very stable for overclocks. Plus, I was having some serious problems with phone stucking, sending large SMS messages and wi-FI bugs in GingerDX.
BTW, GingerDX is still a great ROM.

Yeh You're right mate. i also used the GingerDX from Doxinah. it's pretty good rom. but now i changed to ginger xperia because of the OC performance. Up to 820mhz that's truly awesome ... but i like GingerDX and Ginger Xperia.
Ginger DX is the first ROM that i installed in my W8, and its awesome with lots of features. However you will have to manually tweak for pinch to zoom and Timescape. Now i am using GingerXperia, its really awesome and fast, Pinch to Zoom and Timescape work too good.. Timescape is like just in Xperia mini pro. It looks beautiful. You can over clock your CPU which is an added feature in this ROM. I have put some pics of GingerXperia, hope it helps.
Yeah!! I also tried both of the Roms..and also I have W8...But I installed Ginger DX and also works smoothly..
GingerDX faster than gingerxperia on Alfv6 kernel but GingerXperia have more ram and more tweak(bravia engine, xloud...)
You'd make the chose
But i am not sure if my kernel is Alfv6 or not??how could I check that and if it is not how can i change it to Alfv6 kernel??Please help
And Also where can I get flashtool for my w8 so that I can Flash the files.(I read many posts and it was said that you need to flash the downloaded files by using flashtool).

If you unlock your bootloader and change the kernel you should be aware of what kernel you are installing before you do it.
Otherwise "Settings" -> "About phone" gives you info about you current rom and kernel.
Alf kernel thread is here btw.

Here is the X8 thread for Flashtool with a link to Flashtool's homepage. Unsure if Flashtool works on W8 since I have a X8. But since it officially support X10, X10mini (pro) and X8, i seems unlikely that it shouldn't.
GingerDX
gdx more stable for me gdx v22+ alf v6
{Q} Which is the best rom {Performance & Free Ram}
I want to play games like gta III
now i use minicm7 2.1.9 with naa11
Which is the best rom {Performance & Free Ram}
Hi there,
For me it has to be Xperience v5.0 deodexed with nAa 11 kernel..
For performance use a class 10 sd card.. Nothing else comes remotely close..
RAM is different, everyone will be different.. Same phones with same rom and kernel wont give the same ram free..
Antutu 2.6 score of 2038 @ 748Mhz.. (Pretty damn good)
ALWAYS start your install with a formatted sd card.. Keep your backups on the computer!
Have fun,
CtrlAltDel
I use a 16GB Class 10 card (overkill if you ask me). CM-based ROMs seem to hold the keys (a balance of most good stuff) and miniCM ROMs kick ass. They don't have the best of eye-candy however.
Try linuxperia or Xperience or GingerJh
with alfs or naA kernal

I with GingerDX v023 and Alfs 08 and 256 mb of swap I don't have any bugs, and all games run
Hi everyone,
I was using GingerDX for 2 months on stock kernel, and it was really slow. Apps launched slowly (took 3-4 seconds at least), when i pulled down the statusbar it was very laggy, animations were laggy etc. I had only 40-50 MB free RAM even when i closed every running apps and unnecessary services, and it restarted the launcher everytime i pressed the home button. So the whole ROM was very slow (I even overclocked it to 710 MHz).
Yesterday I installed the stock 2.1 ROM and it is freaking smooth compared to GDX, no lag, launcher doesn't restart, I have around 80 MB free RAM when nothing is running, and it goes down to 50 MB when i run 3 foreground apps and more background apps at the same time, and touch is way more responsible. I didn't even overclock it.
I haven't tried any other custom ROM. Is GingerDX really that slow? I don't believe, because it is very popular. So what is the reason it runs way slower than 2.1? Maybe because I have stock kernel? I really want to use this ROM since it has so many features.
Hi Lajbymester ,
Welcome to the community.
Please take some time to Introduce Yourself and read FORUM RULES.
Hope you enjoy your stay here, and help others in the future.
I beg to disagree. GDX is popular because it is a very good ROM. Please do try fullwipe, then flash the ROM as instructed in GDX first page.
Thanks for the welcome
I have already full wiped and reinstalled the ROM about 5 times, used all versions from v021 and it didn't get any smoother.

Hi,
For now, I´ll just ask you to give us some more information. Could you post what do you use on your phone?? Even in stock kernel I´ve never felt laggy on GingerDX.
With fresh install, what did you change? Undervolt? OC? I remember that ppl had issues on Stock Kernel and GingerDX running with OC module from doixahn. Try to see if the Rom you are using is undervolted or not.
Will you try it on Custom Kernel?
BTW, which laucher are you using on it?
I flashed doixanh's OC module and it seems i used the Undervolt too because it is integrated into the ROM. I can't flash a custom kernel because my phone's manufacturing date is 11W48 so it would be a brick. I'm using GO Launcher EX.
No we mean the step you do. What are the step you do and setting you do to your phone?
try removing the OC and UV modules, and I suggest you to use Laucher Pro, it seems to be smother than other lauchers I ever tried.
To remove both OC and UV just open a root File Explorer (ES File Explorer has root access), go to /system/lib/modules and delet x8oc.ko and x8uv.ko if I´m not wrong. Them you test the rom again and see if you get better performance
It seems to be a bit faster now, I'm not sure yet
I got some free RAM with RAM Manager Pro, now i have the same as on stock ROM.
Well...I didn´t use any app to kill process or manage RAM on my phone, and It is smooth enough for me without OC . I´m using MiniCM right now, but it was the same on GingerDX
It seems to be smooth now, thanks for the help
You´re welcome bro. That is why me and other ppl is here
Fullwiping
I dont agree. I run v025, stock kernel, and i dont flash the overclock modules. It runs fast and smooth. Maybe u installed too much apps, widgets and kind
thanks for the thanks......
rom: gingerdx v025
kernel: stock
Sent by my W8 using XDA app...................
I found GDx (stock) a bit slow too
I dunno why.
That made me switch to PrimeHD.
That's very fast
And the magic is: when i sleep, i turned off data, wifi etc and my battery level doesnt change a single percent. 25 % when i go to sleep, and still 25 % when i wake.
thanks for the thanks......

Read the Alfs thread.....
The one with the label (no fps cap) means that it has had the 60fps cap on the X8 disabled whereas the one without the "no fps cap" label still has the 60pfs cap.
I recommend the fps-capped version because it has better battery life, V-sync (which prevents screen tearing), and relatively constant animation speeds. Less bugs have also been reported with the fps-capped version.
Thanks so much. (I don't read careful on Alfs's thread. ..)
