I've tried most all of them (the newer version of them)..
GingerDX wow it's really fast bro.. but just a little lag in game (running Overclock at 320-787Mhz, and undervolt, VM heap size 32MB, sdcard cache 4096)
GingerCruzt almost have same fast but in homescreen it have a little lag (delay 3 seconds a think)... but in game is awesome than GingerDX (running Overclock at 320-787Mhz, and undervolt, VM heap size 32MB, sdcard cache 4096)
GingerXperia same as gingercruzt but have some bugs,...
(running Overclock at 320-787Mhz, and undervolt, VM heap size 32MB, sdcard cache 4096)
#edit: using Xperia Active louncher
Did you try GingerKaskus?
It´s meant to be used for gaming.
I tried it already, but it bricked my phone, so I just want to know how it is when it didn´t brick your phone.
By the way:
It´s a fact that you have a better sdcard read/write speed if your SD cache is only 2048.
There are apps on the maket you can use to set the value (but because of the fact you know what your cache is, I guess that you already have such an app)

I keep getting a low on space error. Have tried clean installing CM6, but always run into the same issue. Have a total of about 90 apps installed, almost all of which are installed on my SD card (class 6 8GB). The only apps not on the SD card are homescreen widgets and core/system apps.
Android: 2.2.1
Mod: CyanogenMod-6.1.0-RC1-N1
Kernal: 2.6.35.7-cyanogenmod
Build: FRG83
Baseband: 32.50.00.32U_5.12.00.08
Download Cache Max: 94.98MB / Free: 46.57MB
Data Max: 196MB / Free: 16.73MB
External Storage Max: 7.08GB / Free: 4.98GB
Total RAM: 406MB
Free RAM: 141MB
Threshold RAM: 16MB
Well, you have lots of apps, and their data and cache aren't moved - so you shouldn't expect anything but what you got.
Solution? Install DarkTremor's Apps2SD, repartition SD card (add EXT), move all apps to SD-EXT, and move Dalvik to /cache.

My app drawer shows 124 icons and got still 58,9MB (~30%) free internal memory
Probably cause I flash lots of apps to /system/app..
Max 946mb EXT2 Space for lag fix?
i had been go thru the china website abt lagfix, is it can set to max 1.65g for the EXT2 space?
thanks.
nope it depend on you free space.. mine is 1.6ghz i remove does "trashes" or you can back up them to your memory card.. then restore using root explorer
Thanks for ur info. But i think is better wait gingerbread update first, only i decide to do lag fix or not...
Hello everyone, after temp fixing my laptop with ubuntu I mounted my stock SD and I figured out that it didn't have any ext3 partition only a fat32 partition...
Now I'm wondering what isthe best use of partitions on the sd...
From what I've learnt in various 3D ( unluckily outdated):
ext2: seems to be good, fast, linux native, no journal ( no useless data written on sd)
ext3: like ext2 but with journal ( dunno if on latest stock rom is optimized)
ext4: not supported by stock rom
swap: it might shorten sd life, but I didn't understand if it's really useful nor if is supported
fat32: useful for photos, videos, write data easily with windows...
Concluding and considering that I'm using latest stock rom(for the moment): ext partitions runs app really faster than fat32 and allows all app's cache to be written on ext partitions rather than internal memory?
Swap partition is worth of it(in which size?)?
[OT]Aside from benchmark in daily use there is difference between class 4 and 10 cards???
Thank you, and forgive me for any grammatical error ^^
What's the reasoning behind wanting ext partition on your sdcard? Do you really need that much room for apps and cache?
I think internal storage is much more efficient (faster) for loading apps.
As for swap, really unnecessary on this phone, performance will decrease hard, ram is much faster than flashmem and android's native task killing does an adequate job of freeing ram for active apps to run.
Also benchmark on the sdcard measures 2 things, read speed and write speed so faster usually equals faster. That said, you're probably not going to notice a huge difference on stock rom unless you transfer a lot of files to your PC.
Oh well, I've still a lot of free space, it was asking for the future ^^
BTW thank you, I've cleared all my doubts!
If yes tell me what to set it too.I have minicm 7 and have compcache disable
and sd cache size 128kb all our defaults.

use SD cache size 1024 or 2048 for better result and compcache 18 % .... hit thanx if I helped.
thanks bro 1 question is this tested to speed up our phone i mean do you get any performance increase?thanks again
How to enable A2SD and Dc2SD together on MiniCM?
CyanogenMOD Config > Performance > A2SD Modes
I can only choose one option =/
dc2sd includes a2sd, is apps + dalvik cache to sd
Stupid Question: Which one of them is better to use? A2SD or DC2SD?

Neither! Unless you're pressed for ROM space to install new apps (all too likely with the miserable space SE alloted) - in which case A2SD is the way to go. Rather than DC2SD, increase the size of your EXT partition if pressed for space (I know no true justification in moving Dalvik cache to SD). You might even notice a lag (mild to significant) when launching larger apps stored on the card.
But it's pretty harmless to have a128MB ext partition - even if you don't need it right away. You never really can tell.
