Built quality - Motorola Droid Bionic

Anyone else notice by the volume rocker switch that the phone case itself around the switch is not sealed properly and its coming apart?

Mine is fine. You sure its not your battery cover? Sometimes it needs to be is snapped in all the way.

Battery cover vibrates

Anyone else's battery cover slightly vibrate when you gently run your finger over it? Only happens when the AC usb charger is plugged into a wall outlet for me.
Thanks!

My, and my gf's Cappys definitely don't do that ._.
Every once in a while, when I have it on vibrate and I'm putting it back into my pocket, I get the vibration. It's odd, but on the iphone 3G and 3Gs, when it is set to vibrate and you press on the back by the sound switch, it'll vibrate, too.
Sounds like you have a short circuit... My laptop has a magnesium palm rest and if it's charging and you touch something metal and run your finger over it it feels like it's vibrating.

This isn't the internal gizmo vibrating it. It is more like a natural frequency. Think making a tune on a wine glass. Very low frequency though.

If its a short. That could explain why sometimes my battery runs down really fast.

It is a short or grounding issue. The vibration intensity changes if I put my bare feet on the carpet or not.
Taking off the cover, I found that the metal sim card slot is actually whats vibrating.

Battery door creaking

So, after recently replacing my phone, I received one with a really noisy battery door. I mean the sliding mechanism to take off the back plate. I've tried to cope with it, but it makes my vibrate unusable due to a huge increase in noise. Also, barely squeezing the slider part makes it creak annoyingly.
Does anybody else have this issue? If so, do you know of any remedies? I'm starting to get really annoyed with this, as it makes my phone feel cheap and I can't stand not having vibrate on during classes.

What you can do is put some tape or glue a thin plastic on the inside of the cover to create pressure that should prevent it from moving. It will be on the inside thats way it doesnt look cheap and it will fix both problems. Let me know if it works

Gah! Can't believe I didn't think to try this. I put a couple of pieces of card stock under the door and its gone. Thanks!

[Q] Somehow my loudspeaker keeps going out.

I have to tap/smack lightly on the back of the phone and it will come back in. I assume something has come loose. Is the connection easily accessible on the phone? Or am I going to have to get a different phone?
Pull the battery cover off and firmly press on the speaker assembly...

[Q] Does anyone feel that the battery cover is too loose?

Is that by design? Maybe just bad design? Or is it just my phone?
I feel like mine is loose too. Always coming off randomly. A case should fix that problem though.

It is a bad design. One side squeaks when I press it and it is too easy to knock off without a case.

The back on mine seems fine. Does have a squeak on one side, but stays firmly in place.
Mine 1st vivid felt a little loose....I just tweaked the tabs on the cover til it felt solid. Worked good, just be careful not to
Break them.

I have noticed recent shipped models have had the metal hooks slightly bent inward it does seem to have a more snug fit

Yea way to loose. My otterbox commuter fixed my problem. No more worries about losing the battery cover.
It's kind of loose, but when mine gets loose I just pull the cover off and put it back and its tight for another three hours or so.

I think the battery cover issue was resolved. My replacement units battery cover had thicker clamp tabs, doesn't squeak of make my phone feel like a cheap knockoff.

Yeah. I am not encountering either one of those problems. I also got the Seidio Active case on mine now.

Mine Vol- squeeks a little. As far as the battery cover goes I don't feel as though it's too loose. It requires an acceptable amount of force to slide it off, and clicks securely back in place
I lost my back cover for a day, found it in my car, I took it off my car Holder and when I took it off, it fell under the seat. I immediately went out and bought a cheap back cover.

Ditto here.
Just bend the metal tabs of the metal cover up so they are tighter against the plastic housing of the phone. I did this too and the problem is solved. Only need to bend them about 1-2 mm.

IIRC, HTC's policy is that they will send you one free replacement.

cover loose
Funny for HTC to go through the trouble of making a sturdy looking metal cover to have it function like a cheap peice of plastic. Doesn't matter how light the fall, the back come's off my raider. It appears if you tweak the side tabs on the cover you'll get a tighter fit, don't break them though. I haven't tried that yet, however.
Remember there was some drop test for this in one of the reviews out there. When dropped heads down, the lid comes off even it's dripped 3inches.
Still like this better than Samsung plastic backs that start warping and squeaking after some taking off and snapping back.

That is good to kow
I dropped my phone enough that all the tabs are bent slightly outward. Now it seems pretty tight. Problem solved

Case + EB40

I've installed the EB40 in my Atrix when I first got it (This one is a replacement, hard bricked last one), and I bought a case at a mall recently. I found it on Amazon to show you guys which one: http://www.amazon.com/World-Motorol...031344&sr=8-5&keywords=hybrid+y+case+atrix+hd However, I have recently had issues with it causing my speaker to cut out, I'm assuming because the plastic pulls the back away. Would there be any way to fix this or would I have to go without a case/get a new case?
I have am otterbox defender on mine and have used the commuter along with ballistic case and they all work without cutting after the battery mod.

In an attempt to get an answer, would possibly cutting the plastic a tad more solve my issue?
Sent from my MB886 using xda premium
Cutting the plastic over the battery so no plastic is covering it anymore would definitely solve it.

Yes that will do it.. or you can just push the screws very tight

I tried sliding the battery under the plastic lip and after connecting the battery post the phone wouldn't turn back on. Finally got the phone to turn on but anytime the phone fc or got turned off it would be hell to get it turned back on. I would have to take the back cover off and move the battery around. I finally cut the plastic back about a half inch to where it wasn't putting pressure on the battery and haven't had a problem since. Just my 2 cents.
