Im having a problem i cannot make calls with my phone .i thought it is a problem with the sim card but it worked fine when i tested it on another phone.ican receive calls ,use 3g,wifi.....etc...but cannot make calls.itried another dialler app ,problem not solved.i tried changing the mobile network under sittings with no succsess

How stupid .i have just remembered that three days ago i changed call sittings hide

stupid or not, you just helped me solve my problem.. although i don't remember messing with the settings, but i also was unable to make or receive calls. i tried different roms(both gingerbread and froyo), kernels, and modems, but to no avail, and lastly i read your thread, went to settings, pressed hide, then pressed by network, and boom, it worked again..

No, I it didn't work.. The problem persisted. turned out it was a csc problem.. flashed the csc for my region again and the problem is gone now..

My friends tell me that they can not call me, and always just goes off the mailbox.
when I see on the phone, I have full network and everything looks ok .
When I put the battery off the phone and take it back on it again it works .
what can that be ??
I've got the same problem but it seldom happens. I'm using the standard ROM and radio. I'm wondering what might cause this problem.
Your phone will show it's busy if a gprs connection is downloading data as voice and data can't coexist together. If using HSDPA then they can work together.
Are you using push email?

hi guys..even i am facing the same problem from last 6 months. i've to restart my phone one in a day. the gprs oe edge gets busy and phone comes not reachable. i've disabled both of them. still the problem persist.
please help me to get rid of this.

I have same problem.
I think this is OS problem.
So I enable 'divert when not reached'
to divert missing call to 2nd phone (Nokia)

Try installing new RADIO Rom. The problem could be the radio rom, or its reception in the area.
Hi, first i apologies for my bad english, im argentinian.
well, this is the problem, i cant sent SMS, i recieved... can make calls, connect via 3G to internet, wifi, all is working fine... but i cant sent any sms...
i tried flashing to stock rom and kernel (i had ginger xd, alfs kernel) , restoring with pc companion, but nothing, doesnt work
any ideas??

Check your message center number. It is fixed for one operator. please check it.

it wasnt the message center number... the problem was the sim card, i changed it and start's to work fine
Even still, i think all x8's have one common problem,
The SMS, after using and hsving my phone on stock rom for 6 months
the SMS functionality went, I fixed it and so on.
Then, two weeksago, my brothers white X8 lost its functionality, and its still not fixed.
And also a month ago, my friend lost his sms functionality, he fixed it but not completely.
Problem? And I checked the date of manufacturing on the phones and they were all different and spaced out
By a few months each.

next to it if the box is empty....

and then Update....

The empty box must be filled with ur sms centre no....

Hi all, I have been using the Stock Extra from the here for a number of weeks now with no issues. Until yesterday when my galaxy s stopped making or receiving calls or text messages, I get an error message saying text not sent & when I try to dial out it goes straight to call ended. I have tried a restore which didn’t help and I have even went back to XXJVS Rom 2.3.5 but still no calls or texts ! I rang Virgin mobile yesterday and they did all the usual checks and they said it must be a setting on the phone causing the problem as they cant see anything being blocked or barred. When I use my card in another phone it works fine ! My wife’s sim card wont work in my phone either so it has to be the phone ! Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem? I am Desperate now I have only had the phone 3 months!

Did you try a reflash with Odin? Never seen this problem before.

Try a different modem firmware...
I had several issues with several different ROMs but in most cases anything to do with calls, data, wifi, GPS, or BT were solved by flashing a different modem... I didn't notice which country or carrier you're using but I'm in Canada using Rogers and the best modem I've found for signal strength, and keeping all of the other radio related functions working has been UGKC1 This is dependant on where you are and who your carrier is though.

I have this exact problem with a Galaxy S I just got back from a RMA - the antenna was dodgy or something and it would get poor signal everywhere. Now signal is fine but it won't make texts/calls, again not the SIM.
Does your mobile internet work? Mine does which is weird..
Have you also checked your APN settings??
I can only make phonecalls through my bluetooth headset. If I switch bluetooth of and try to make a phonecall with the receiver, speakerphone or cable headset there is no sound. The cable headset and speaker plays all other sounds ok and when testing the receiver with *#0*# it produces sound. I do not have any obscure call recording software or like installed. Running stock rom.
Any suggestions?

did you guys had this problem when the device was not rooted? becasue untill I rooted mine everything was OK. after root probelm occured. I am going to stock original rom and unroot mine a I wonder if it makes any sense.. I hope it does because I am getting desperate... If that will not work I will returnt go on warranty.
I did a repair through KIES and that fixed it for a few weeks but then it returned. My device wasn't rooted. Now I'm waiting for a good stock ROM without Samsung's bloatware to flash to.

did you try to contact samsung support ? or warranty? This phone is otherwise useless for me without its basic functionality.. if it has this bug also on stock ROM that its Samsung problem hm?
I've had my S4A since July, rooted it within a week and have not had a single problem with it. I'm on MF3 if that makes a difference.

Although it sometimes disappeared after a hard reset, it soon came back after installing a few apps and changing some settings, none of which have in principle anything to do with phone functionality. One option would be to make a call after each change but it would be a very long process...

Yesterday upgraded ro Cyanogenmod 4.3... The phone worked perfect..a nd in the morning again the same ****... Phone is quiet.. It is possible to make bt headseat calls only.... I do no know what to do...anybody any idea before I finally decide to solve this as warranty claim?

So, yesterday I have tried to put sim card from another provider to check if it is not a provider fault...and guess what.. the phone works normally with another providers sim card. I contacted my procider and reported this problem and now I am waiting for their feedback... hopefully they will find out something to make it work..

So the provider made a check of signal and sim card and confirmed that everything is ok.. today i got a phone replaced.. so now i wonder if this problem will dissaper with new device...

I just installed the new stock 4.4.2 and same thing, worked for a couple of calls and then bye.

Hi, does anybody has a Fix for this issue? It is getting really annoying and happening to a bunch of people in active S4 and the normal S4. After a new flash or sometimes randomly it works perfectly and then suddenly it goes silent on calls again.

Exactly the same problem. No problem until I started using my helmet's bluetooth. Only thing that works is to switch off bluetooth after using, restart phone and then about the 3rd 4th call, sound comes back on again. Comes and goes after that.

Same problem with sound. Was from the very beginning with stock rom, also now with CM 10.2.
It's kinda annoying to have a phone without a proper call functionality..

I've been having this for about two weeks. and I've looked in almost every forum and could not a solution that works.
I've done everything from hard reset, factory reset, not installing viber/skype, tried using soundabout, change the network settings, and probably a few more suggested solutions that just doesn't seem to work.

Hey guys. I asked before about voice call delay problem , but no one helped me. The problem is when i try to make voice call it take from 10 to 20 sec before make the actual call (the first ring) and after many tries i found that the problem caused by marshmallow update because i tried several times to go back to lollipop and the problem never appeared again . Can any body help . Note : before you ask you ask about factory reset or clear cash i tried to do it several times but didn't work !!
It's your network operator/cell site issue or the issue exists with the operator number you calling.
