System checking and boot endless - LG Optimus 2x

Good evening,
my phone was on, I got an error trying to activate the wifi so I switch off the phone.
When I turn it on, first it show the "Lg system checking" screen, then it start the booting sequence repeating "lg" and "lg + progress bar" endless.
Same thing happened two weeks ago, and I had to hard-reset to get it switch on again.
Is there a way to recover from this situation avoiding another hard reset?
This behaviour is supposed to be normal?
Thank you for your help,
MJ

I got the same problem, I really don't know what the problem is, I thought I was the only one with this problem.

I had it several times
Last time however I somehow managed to get it going again so its not allways impossible.
Try to let it charge for some time first. Then take the battery out and wait a while. Reinsert and let it restart. It will probaby hang again. I did this several times with combinations of holding in button combinations while booting (but not power plus vol down!). I also did combinations of having the charger connected or not.
I needed maybe 20 tries before it booted up.
Good luck!

Galaxy note wont turn ON.

Hi, I am using a galaxy Note in India and it is about 14 months old. I was working on internet and it freezes in between, so this time it wont even turn off or give any option when I pressed power button so I took the battery off after about waiting for 10 min. Then I turned it back ON It gave me error Encryption Failed Reset your phone.
I again tried to restart the phone, Still the same error. I again tried to restart and this time it wont even start Nothing happen just a dead screen.
1. Battery charge is full
2. it wont turn on and when pressing vdown + middle button + power button nothing happens just black screen always.
3. Taken the battery off number of times and then also tried, No Luck.
4 Even the computer wont even recognize it.
Its just a Dead Screen no movement in screen tried all possible step No luck , it all happened suddenly.
Its just the same as it came from company (No Root not even opened its just like new phone.)
Not able to understand what can be the issue, Please help..!!!!
Thanks

How are you sure that the battery is good and charged. Normally after one year if the usage is heavy, the chances of battery down happens. So make sure battery is good. Secondly you mentioned volume down button, how about vol up button ie recovery mode?

This happened to me as well last week. Tried everything but failed.
I did below steps and my phone is up & working
1) Remove the battery and keep it in a dry place for 4-6 hours (Very important step to make this work)
2) Place the battery back into computer and do not turn ON the phone
3) Plug the phone to wall charger and charge the phone for at least an Hour (I kept for 2 Hrs)
4) Remove the charger and gently press the power button for 15 secs
5) This should turn the phone back ON
Above steps helped for me. Let me know if this worked for you also

Ankush,
In your case I can think of only 2 things
1) If you have CWM installed then
press and hold "Volume UP Key + Power Key + Home Key" all together for 30 secs (may be a min) and see if you get recovery screen
If yes then all is ok & you just need to flash a new ROM
2) If you do not have CWM then
press and hold "Volume Down Key + Power Key + Home Key" all together for 30 secs (may be a min) and see if you get a custom screen
If yes then you can install custom ROM (or original ROM) using ODIN.
Let me know if anything helps you here

This step kinda weird.. Since I my note never get wet. I hope it will work.. I tried it later.. I dont have much budget to upgadet to Note 3 now. :crying:
Same kind of error
Over the night my phone closed. When I try to open it, on the screen apeared "Insert PIN to decrypt your ~something~ ". I never encrypted my phone so I tried to restart. I got stuck on the samsung logo. Then I removed the battery and put it back in and my device never started again. I have 2 batteries and none of them worked. I can charge the batteries independently and this is not the issue.

Have the same problem right now.. did you find a solution eventually?
Same happened to my device today. Had trouble with some apps before. Wanted to play back a two days old backup. But my phone never woke up again. Shut down forever. Never got to recovery. Had the latest cm11 nightly. Now its dead! RIP. My dear friend. We've gone a long way together. Never intended to replace you anytime soon. But I can't be without a Phone. Moving on to Galaxy S5 now. Hope it can fill the gapp.
Same here, completely dead after a reboot. I took it apart but I see no damage or signs of burn damage anywhere on the motherboard or other components. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot and find out specifically what happened?
i am not sure, mayb the phone is design to last for only certain years, new apps launch make the phone in applicable for be running with latest apps and everything. Or mayb the phone is design with a timer to self destroy its chip or component after specific numbers of days being used??

[Q] Stuck in aroma, holding power for 15+ seconds doesn't work

Was attempting to install busybox through recovery ( from here).
The installer is based on aroma I believe and it froze during install. I see this is a common issue. Regardless, I was going to reattempt the install but I cannot get the phone to reboot. From what I've read, holding the power button for 15+ seconds should do a hard reboot. The capacitive button lights start blinking like they should but no matter how long I hold power, the phone won't reboot.
Do I need to wait for the battery to completely drain or should there be another way to force it out of this state?
Thanks
If it's plugged in unplug it, and make sure you're only holding power and not any other key until it reboots
Keep trying

Thanks. It isn't plugged in. Been trying this for about an hour now, sometimes holding power for over 2 minutes. The lights keep blinking as long as I hold the button. They stop after I release it.
Looks like I'll have to play the waiting game

Yep. Just checked on the person from yesterday and after it died he was able to get into recovery and then fix it. So it's something weird
Here is the thread not much info though but he had to let it die
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247888
Also it resets around the 15 blink of the capacitive buttons so if it's blinking 30 times something is not right wait for it to die

Thanks for the link, didn't spot that one. I guess I'm having the same issue. I don't mind having a non-removable battery but it's unfortunate in this case. The screen is staying on so I hope the battery runs out earlier rather than later.
Try to push the Button several times and then hold it, or hold Power +vlm down ans release ans push vol again.. helped me many times i think... dont give up..
I tried just about every combination but nothing worked. On a positive note, the battery died and I was able to boot normally once again. No issues since.
Next time press and hold both volume up, down and the power button

Well, another one to add. Stuck in Aroma, and Hard combinations doesn't work. TRIED ALL OF THEM.
Was stressing over, plugged the phone in, launched the ALL-IN-ONE, clicked the reboot command.
I thought the Hard button combination was hardware : that is now proven wrong. Ugh.

Adb reboot always works. Had to do it twice already to get out of aroma.
Hard combinations only work sometimes sadly.

I know it sounds weird, but there's reports that shining at light at the sensors and/or working in a very bright room seems to help with the soft reset procedure. I have no idea why and it sounded like coincidence to me, but what do you have to lose? lol
I also faced the hanging aroma problem and holdon the power button for a long period of time (15 seconds) worjed for me the firs time i tried, the second time it bad some problems, but i kept pressing the power button.for 15 seconds and it finally turned off.
Hoep this helps.

Simulated battery pull doesn't work on my phone

So I made the mistake of dirty flashing the new viper rom 1.1.0 on top of 1.0.4. Got stuck in a boot loop then on the viper screen. Yes it's my fault for dirty flashing however I was stuck on the viper logo for over 30 min. I tried holding down power over 10 seconds a bunch of times. Kept trying & trying. Waited a while it finally took a reboot after dozes of trys. So my phone is not taking the simulated battery pull correctly. Even was the rom was working perfectly I would try it while booted & the screen would come up to keep holding to reboot but the phone would never actually reboot. It always worked perfect on my evoLTE and the entire point of it is if your phone is jammed up you have an out. So if it's just my phone it must be a hardware issue, anyone else have trouble with there phone? If it is just my phone I wanna get it swapped out cause it can lock up even when doing everything right and I don't wanna have to wait for the battery to die.
Try with the down volume key pressed as well. Sometimes the power button itself hasn't worked for me. But with the volume key it always works for me.

I tried that too many times. I already re-locked, flash backed to stock gonna bring it in. The phone just refuses to accept a force restart. I attached a screen shot, the phone will just continue to sit on that message until I let go and never reboot.
Just got back from Sprint store, of course it works perfect every time I'm in there. I can't expect them to swap it when it's working. I hate going there, the guy says to me just hold the button to the menu comes up to reboot it. Tried explaining what a fail safe was he didn't seem to get it. Gonna unlock again and just be careful about dirty flashing it was my fault that it got stuck in a boot loop anyway but I still expect the fail safe to work, it always did on me evo LTE

Bricked Xperia T

Hello, I'm having trouble with my Xperia T.
It's an unlocked bootloader with the latest DoomKernel on, CWM is installed and the FW is .145
It worked fine 'till today morning. Last night i put it to charge with a nokia charger that i've been using before and this morning it was non responsive and the green light is permanently on. I tried hard reseting it for a number of times, still non responsive.
I'm running out of options. Any ideas?
Can you get into fastboot mode?:
Unplug und plug in the USB-cable. Hold Vol+ and the ON-button at the same time for a couple seconds until you feel a single vibration. Let go of the ON-button but keep the Vol+ pressed. You should be in fastboot mode again indicated by the blue LED.
If that works, you can reflash the original kernel.elf or boot.img with fastboot in order to get the phone working again.
I am familiar with the fastboot mode and also to the flash mode.
The phone is unresponsive to any key stroke combinations. I've done the Off+ Volume Up or Volume Down or even with all three at the same time for more than 20 seconds and it does nothing.
The phone should be on since last night i charged it whilst beeing on.
I'm starting to think to phisically remove battery...
Did you try everything from the recovery thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
You said you did a hard reset. Are you sure (three vibrations)? If that is the case, maybe this is your problem (from the thread above):
ATTENTION:
If your phone is not working but you see a led or have bootloops DO NOT USE HARD-RESET. This can make your phone lock/freeze up until the battery dies. It took 51 hours for mine to die.
However if you get stuck on a boot screen or get bootloops a SOFT-RESET may work to reboot.

I had to do a hard reset too once or twice. But mine never locked up. I don't know which conditions lead to this behavior.
So try to wait till the battery is completely dead. Then charge it for a while. Turn it on, and it will get stuck at the faulty kernel again. But this time only do a soft reset (single vibration), combined with the fastboot key scenario (like I described above).
If nothing works, maybe the rubberband trick might be a solution (also in the thread). But I have never tried that (never needed to).
I tried to do the hard reset but it does nothing. So after 24hrs the green led is still on and nothing happens no mather what key stroke i try
Update: I disassembled the phone and did the hard reset manually and all is well for now.
Thanks for the replies

Alright. Glad you got it working by removing the battery. I guess it's true then that it takes forever (50+ hours) for the battery to go empty on a stuck hard reset.
No, actually mine was 80% after 30 hours so i guess it will take more!

Power Button failures are hard to recover from. Keep trying the battery trick. It will boot up suddenly. If you want, you can also try holding down the volume down button so you can go to FASTBOOT immediately.
I once thought my nexy died when the power button did not work, but repeated attempts finally booted it up. Good Luck!
