If you applied the jacked up metamorph I added 1.1/1.1a you will need to SBF to get your **** right, sorry, I warned you. After you get SBF'd back to stock you can re-root and apply 1.1d. No more surprises, PROMISE!
After seeing a lot of requests for a Gingerbread theme I decided that since
MetaMorph seems to dangerously be working why not give it a go and just
compile a large Gingerbread theme for it.
Note of caution: Using MetaMorph can potentially softbrick your phone,
in all my testing I have yet to do so, but just know it is a possibility. I am not
responsible for anything that happens from you using this MetaMorph theme.

- Added other missed notification icons
- Removed that MMS icon (obsolete)
Thanks testing out now!!!
Edit: i extracted it to AndroidThemes and when opening it using Metamorph I can't find the .XML. Also, when trying to unzip using the original .zip file in metamorph, it tell me that the theme control file is missing?\

Yea I edited step 4....it seemed a little ambiguous at that point I should have
screened it step by step. I'm cloning the CM7 repo right now for the other images I need.
Donating soon!
I'm totally wiped after work today...i'm cloning every repo I need, including the
documentation on what gets compiled where and then i'll update tomorrow in the
AM with v2.
Also going to be adding multicolor themes...(cyanogen, red, white, pink, etc.)
OK, so my WiFI, Battery icon, and black notification bar seem to be going well..
HOWEVER, for my signal bar, when I boot it up it shows the Gingerbread style signal icons, then after approx. 5 seconds it disappears and shows the stock icons.
Could Jewremy's Mods have affected this?

OK, let's run over this again...
- You SBF'd to get rid of Jewremy's Mods
- Re-rooted
- Re-applied the MetaMorph
And still no success?
Bear in mind, I haven't used Jewremy's mods.
After some looking...it will be easier to mod Jewremy's ModKit...and update this thread with
the modded version, if he'll allow it.
Yeah--Of course I could've just pushed the old framework-res.apk back onto my system, but there was so much edited crap inside the old framework-res.apk that I decided to just SBF.
Yeah, you can see the changed signal icon for like a few seconds when the phone boots up but right after, the icons change back to the stock icons. The same thing is happening with the 3G icon.
I think it will be easier to use Jewremy's ModKit to apply these mods. having the SystemUI.apk constantly force closing and stuff is going to give people a tough time!
It sounds like it has something to do with when the phone syncs with google, it changes to the stock icons. Did you change those also? There are the white ones, and the green.

Well after visiting the idea a little more thoroughly...i'll feel much better using
metamorphs...i'm looking through Jewremy's stuff trying to figure why they
default back to the stock, especially if the values/images have been
changed/overwritten on the SystemUI.
The changes metamorph makes are not as system intensive as Jewremy so
from a theming perspective not using his mods may be a price to consider
when using metamorphs. Nothing against him or his mods.
I've decompiled SYstemUI.apk and i'm sifting through what I can in it right now.
I left out icons in the metamorph unintentionally, working on releasing the newest
now...to be exact I included icons for 'fully' whenyou ryou are connected to Googles
servers but left off the default ones...been months since I themed anything. New 1.1
zip in 20 minutes.
I've received permission for you to use Jewremy's ModKit for use in your themes.

@kshen, the reason you were getting that error was because I left some important icons out

This was created for the Vibrant, but I see no reason why it would not be compatible with the Captivate. Enjoy.
This Metamorph changes the status bar and status icons to the Sense theme. Make sure you are using the latest version of Metamorph (1.9.13 or higher). I'm not responsible for anything you do to your phone.
WARNING:
Make sure USB Debugging is enabled in Settings -> Applications -> Development.
If you're using the standard TouchWiz launcher, this morph will remove the Messaging icon from the bottom dock. To get it back, open your applications, press menu, view type, customizable. Menu again, then edit. Find the Messaging icon, drag it back into the dock, then menu, save, menu, view type, alphabetical grid (or whatever you had it on before.)

Yeah, the battery uses the HTC scale to show level, not the completely retarded Samsung scale that always shows damn near full.
This might be a dumb question, but I'm new to android so I'm gonna fire away anyways. I really prefer the way this made my notification bar look, but there is one thing that seriously bothers me up there, although it isn't directly related to this thread.
Is there any way to change the notifications for apps in the notification bar on the left side? In particular, I hate the way the juicedefender notification looks, and would like to change it to something... less colorful. Is this possible?
Short answer: Yes, if you're dead set on doing it.
Long answer: Metamorph wasn't really designed for Market apps, but it has been done. You would need to create an icon, and then build a metamorph zip around it. You could also pull the app from your computer, remove the icon, replace it with a new one, and resign the zip file. If you're not sure what you're doing, both methods will be a pain in the ass, but luckily there are plenty of tutorials on XDA.

Thanks, I sent you a PM to prevent the further derailment of the original thread.
On a more on topic note, every time I look at my notification bar I like it more and more. The battery icon does seem more accurate, and it didn't affect the brightness control swipe action.
this WILL work if using a launcher separate from TouchWiz right? i use LauncherPro, and just making completely sure before i try using it.

Yes. This modifies the system framework, not the launcher. Technically this morph will work on any HDPI android phone.
What do you mean by not supporting market apps? I can't put apps on the home screen?

is there anything special I need to do to calibrate the battery icon? I'm at 67% battery right now and it's showing the same scale as the old samsung icon (i.e a sliver shaved off to denote the battery is between 50%-75%)
Do I sideload this onto my captivate or how do I install it??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Install Metamorph from the market, and move the file in the download link to your phone. There will be a folder called AndroidThemes on the root level of your SD card. Open Metamorph and locate it, the hit extract. After it extracts, select the applications you'd like to modify, or just hit Apply All.
Thanks Man I Got It And It Was Completly Easy Greatly Appreciated

I was explaining to a previous poster that Metamorph wasn't designed to be used to theme market apps. You can put whatever you want on the home screen. This morph just replaces the images. It doesn't change functionality at all.

It's possible that the Samsung battery fiasco runs deeper than just the images. I thought mine was showing a more realistic scale, but I could easily be mistaken.
I ran this and my phone just cut to black after applying 4/4 and now won't start?
edit: sorry, stupid, gave it time, pulled the battery, restarted... it's working fine... I just got a big over-anxious
It will soft reboot after applying the framework-res package. As long as it's allowed to run, you will be fine. If you did something stupid, such as pull the battery, you'll need to push framework-res.apk to /system/framework over ADB from recovery in order to get it to boot again.

I sat waiting for a solid 5 minutes with nothing happening. I tried holding down the power button for varying periods of time, to no avail. Plugged in/unplugged USB: nothing...
Eventually said "**** it" because it wasn't responding to anything, and pulled the battery. Replugged the battery, booted fine, the new framework installed just fine.
edit: I should note that I have removed the standard e-mail.apk (not the gmail one) and it tossed out a comment saying it wasn't there, but I assumed it would just skip it and move on (that's the only thing I could imagine that would cause it to sit at the black screen for so long)

This should work for most builds. If you dont see your ROM build in the flashes then this is what you will want to try! If your current ROM does not have 1-100% battery then use "No Batt" version!! Remember make sure USB debug is on, and for Froyo if you get a FC or a crash then soft reset. When phone is back up continue on to the next part of the theme! You can either to it the hard way, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812541
Or, what I would personally recommend.
Take my Metamorph file and using winrar or 7zip double click the file to open it.
Take the file you want to use and rename it "status_bar_background.9.png".
Replace the old file inside of MMDarkness/twframework-res/res/drawable-hdpi with the new one you just renamed, close the file, and place it on your phone.
Using Metamorph find the new theme, If there was an old Darkness theme then "Replace" not update, and then theme the twframework-res theme.
You are done, soft reset to see changes!
Do you have to change the size of the graphic before injecting it into framework.apk?

Was I only supposed to put it in one framework? I put it in twframework-res.apk and also framework-res.apk
I didn't try it your way as I didn't put your theme back on after my earlier restore. I had done something and my nandroid was of b6 which had your theme on it but didn't realize it was b6 so I restored then updated to b7 and didn't put your theme back on. To make a long winded explination
I have applied the morph (great work by the way, made my first one today lol) but the top buttons above the dialer didnt change. I still have the default blue. Do you know what the png is called for that one? Also on the lock screen once you slide it over to unlock it the back half turns back to green green?
First off, just wanted to say this is originally based off of jonathanphx1's DarkHorse theme. He has done a awesome job with it and i'm taking it all and evolving the Monster Theme around it.
This is my first metamorph theme, so its not all perfect yet. Still need help with one main thing. Thats figuring out how to compile 9image files to fit the widgets properly. But anyways heres my first version of what i've gotten so far. Just make sure to nandroid up before applying just as you would anything else. This replaces the pretty much everything in the framework-res area. I've gotten a few apps done. Still tinkering and tweaking a few things to get things perfect. But of course wont ever be perfect lol. But for now this is what i've came up with.
This is my first version 1.1

Version 1.5
Changes made:
New lockscreen icons
New status bar icons (3g, signal bars, car mode, usb, debugging, phone, vibrate)
New look to the overall icons in settings, menus, and apps
New apps themed, (phone, Mms,) credit to the icons in Mms to developer of Watermark'd. I did the mms and sms notification icons myself. took rest of the menu icons and such that are in the app and redid the looks of them.
*Facebook widget isnt quite perfect like it should look. I'm having difficulty getting the .9.png files right. there a pain lol. But it is still functional. Same thing goes for the settings toggle widget, the background isnt working or looking like it should and still working on it. Its still functional. Probably look better if you leave background off in settings lol.
Version 1.6
Changes made:
Added new app
*DeskClock.apk
Fixed the power toggle icons to match the status bar icon toggles, plus changed few icons (reapply the settings sub theme)
Changed the Mms icon (reapply the Mms sub theme)
Changed the color of the divider lines in menus (reapply the framework-res sub theme)
*Still looking for a fix with the facebook background widget files.
Version 1.7
Changes made:
Added couple apps, nothing big
*AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk
*Bluetooth.apk
*XDA.apk (make sure to rename the app in /data/app to XDA.apk and move it from there to /system/app and reboot, then apply the theme)
Updated some apps
*Browser.apk
*Calculator.apk
*Calendar.apk
*Camera
*Contacts
*DeskClock.apk (fixed a file that was messed up)
*Gallery3D.apk
*framework-res (couple files i redone, nothing major)
Latest Version 1.8
Changes made:
Added couple more apps
*Music.apk
*LauncherPro.apk (it is the updated version of 0.8.3, make sure to rename as you see here and move to /system/apps, reboot, and apply theme, reboot)
*Updated Facebook.apk (still not perfect like it should, but better than before thanks to scott2hot97 for the tip)
*Updated Contacts.apk (changed looks for the quick popup)
*Updated the framework-res for a few files and to finally get the notification menu to match lol
Added themed keyboard thanks to gimpsta's keyboard generator
*You can either install the .apk or upgrade it. (its just a themed over version of HTC IME Mod)
This is the bootanimation...
* I changed the version file names so it wouldnt be confusing as to which version is which to download. There is nothing different, but the filenames there self.
I added the bootanimation.zip along with the .xml theme notification colors (Monster_Energy_CMTheme.zip), dock, and the word text on the launcher pro icons (which came from someone on a droid forum i found, but changed the colors to my own as seen in the pix)
Future updates will hopefully have the fixes for the facebook, settings toggle widgets. As soon as i figure out or hopefully get some help with the bg files. May probably have new icons for some things. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
took this post and added it to main top post

the clock is actually wp clock live wallpaper. and here is the dock. The Facebook.apk works with this download apk file. Put the app in /system/apps and make sure its named Facebook.apk and reboot and apply the theme. Just make sure to uninstall the old facebook first.
thx ill give that try
ok everthing worked now still confused what is wp live wallpaper and where can i find it
Were you talking bout the clock on the screen or n the status bar next to battery icon?

yes the clock beside the battery icon

for the clock and other notification colors, the attached zip needs to be extracted and the .xml will go into the cmTheme folder. In the cm settings, apply the monster energy theme and reboot.
Just wondering r u themeing other apps on this theme and my clock still does not have that font as above pics the color is right

The font isn't in the theme you gotta download and install it seperatly

yes i'm in the process of doing few other apps. the font wont change cuz thats part of something different when applying fonts. Get typefresh from the market and the font i use which changes everything you see on your phone is called nightmare from dafont.com. apply that to the droidsanbold and that will change 98% of the text you see on your phone to that font, including the clock.

yes thats correct. if i knew of a way of including that in the theme i would. But i probably wouldnt want to just in case people wouldnt be able to read the font or see it clearly. Cuz when changing the fonts, it changes bout 98% of everything text you see on your phone.
is this theme compatible with froshedyo vanilla where did u get the clock in the v1.5

Idk say its compatible with it, I'm using kaosfroyo v39. And the clock is from beautiful Widgets. But the one I have, I took the version of the clock from someone else that uploaded that n I customized it a lil. The one you see isn't available.

ok cuz i really like that clock is kaos froyo a good rom i havent tried it yet ive been stuck on tazzs roms
Yah its pretty good. Its the only froyo rom I've had, after installing it, just flash the GPS fix n the newest gapps update n your set.

hey i promise last question for the launcher pro text icon where can i get those?
I spent a while looking for a blue theme yesterday and didnt find anything in here, so I moved to other forums and found the beautiful MattedBlues theme. I decided to port it even though it was for cm. It came out pretty nice, but I left the notification bar black since a gradient on the notification bar came out really low quality. I'm willing to update this and encourage you guys to find things to change. I packaged this in metamorph so it would be really simple to install, but if you're new to it, i'll give a short tutorial below. There's also an cwm zip for kb1 and cog now.
SCREENSHOTS:
I only themed the framework-res and twframework-res, and metamorph only changes the included files, so all of your prescious lock screens are safe
Morph for JPY/JS7:

I ALSO made accompanying boot and shutdown animations. It's just a blue version of the ones in serendipity, but I think it adds a nice touch

Tutorials
HOW TO INSTALL THEME:
Install metamorph (I think you need busybox too, so install that if you don't have it)
Download zip file
Move to SD card
open metamorph (press start checks)
press unzip/extract new theme
select zip and press close on window that pops up
press apply all and continue
WHEN IT PROMPTS YOU TO REBOOT, SAY NO. (you can, but then you have to repeat this process)
press pick existing theme and press BlueGB
Press blueGB.xml and then close on window
Apply all, continue, blah blah blah, when it prompts you to reboot the 2nd time say yes.
I think I read in a swype theme thread that you should always apply themes twice with metamorph. I ran into this when I was testing it and had to apply the theme twice to get it to work, so just do it to be safe.
HOW TO INSTALL BOOT ANIMATION:
1) Download the free app "Boot Animation Changer LITE" from the market
2) Plug phone into computer and turn on USB storage
3) Go to bootanims/stock
4) Replace bootanimation.zip with the one in the OP
5) Turn off USB storage
6) Allow su permissions, click on animations, scroll to STOCK, and press "Change to boot animation"
7) Let it do it's thing and restart. You should have the new boot animation!
This looks awesome! Will be using this for a while
Also, why did the title bar look like a bad resolution? How did you uncompress/recompress it?
Be sure to not use any compression at all... just put it in a zip file with no compression, otherwise it will make your images look bad...

EDIT EDIT: Still didn't work
Can someone make a KB1 compatable version?
with no clock !!
Man that's weird, looks bad without compression but with compression it looks a bit better... I'll mess around with this for a while, you can try it (just another morph to put on top) here if you'd like. As for KB1, could you do a nandroid backup and test it? AFAIK (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG) it should work for most of it, and extra files in the framework shouldn't get it stuck on a bootloop. If you tell me what's not themed, I can try to fix it.
EDIT: Oh, and comparison
WITH COMPRESSION
WITHOUT
Is there a way I can edit this myself to make my serendipity orb unlock match?

Well, the images would be simple enough to recolour:

But then you have the day of the week coloured... that I don't know about.
Oh and it's red because redrom was easier to dl
EDIT: Almost update? I still need to fix the toggle things.

running this on uckb1. the toggles are off a little (mixed between old and new tw-framework), and whenever you have five bars of reception, it reverts back to white signal bars (serendipity is based on an i9000 framework, i believe, which only has four signal status bars).
i'd like to see this for uckb1 completely, but it does give me a solid black status bar, for which i'm eternally grateful. thanks much
EDIT: for boot and shutdown animations ... bootanimation.zip goes into /system/media, intact (use root explorer. your quality of life will quadruple after buying this app). shutdown.zip gets extracted; take the folder inside (shutdown) and put in /system/media/video. again, use root explorer.

Haha already running redrom, but just put yours over it. The red was glaring into my retinas.
Hoping this will work nicely with my new cog 4.1, first time I flashed so I'm trying to customize it and get further away from samsung's stock
Can you guys on kb1 post screenshots of the toggle icons and other things that aren't working? Also, I think I'm almost done with v1.1 with the semi-transparent notification menu and maybe some additional app theming, but since some of you like the black statusbar, i'll leave the original up too. I'd love to get this working on kb1 I'll look into the blue orb screen and do the best I can.
hopefully that's clear enough. wifi, bluetooth, and gps are on, silent and auto-rotation aren't. the notification background is stock.
thanks for the effort - just my two cents, but i'd love a transparent notification drawer background with black status bar.
edit: the battery icon reverts to touchwiz animation while charging.

Could you try this? It should give you the transparent notification menu. As for the toggle icons, I know exactly what's wrong but it may take a little extra time to finish because I'm going to use different icons (without the little bar thing).

Would you be ok if I just made 4 bars show up as 3 and 5 show up as 4? That's the simplest solution I can think of. I'll try to fix the battery thing right now, too.

i think that's what most themers have been doing, or some variation on this.
Try this?
This Is mainly for everyone running virus rom. Or anyone with stock framework and htc.resources.
Shouldnt matter if you are/n't running the power control notification mod.
Use at own risk on any other ROM. Only attempt if deodexed and if they didn't change scripting in framework.
Confirmed working on:
possibly BAMF 1.6.3
Blackhole
Lightning !!!!May need wipe!!! Make back up before attempting, if it doesnt load right, boot to CWM and do a data/cache wipe
If you test on another ROM and it does work let me know so I can add it to the op.
Includes all of virus' blue theme, plus many extras
Its a W.I.P so subscribe to the thread for updates
flash .zip like normal. It is tested and working however like any mod do a backup first and use at your own risk.
If you notice any broken images, or ones that just dont look right please let me know
Change log:
v.5 - added my themed images to B3 Included framework and htc.resources
added my notification pac
v.5.1 - fine tune colors and images in framework and resources
added themed wireless tether
added extra theme parts to LP (for consistency)
fixed fc's of apps that are pushed
notification sounds now push to sdcard/media (no longer need to reinstall after new rom flash)
v.6.0 - like always more tweaks in framework and htc.resources
Bonus apps (Facebook &pandora[direct from B2, and updated], themed wireless tether) pushed to sdcard/epidemic now
uninstall old apps and install these if you want
Camera
Music/htclockscreen
2 versions of aosp lockscreen (if you want clear tabs install the .zip located in your sdcard/epidemic)
matching blue boot animation
pushed "widget.txt" to system/customize (thanks cy_n_ic) go HERE for a list of what you can have as toggles
Included JsChiSurf's power control app for toggle configuration from HERE
Market (darker background that was requested and themed buttons)
---- animated sync didnt make the cut this week.
*******UPDATED PANDORA BELOW *****************
If you dont want any of the additional apps that are pushed to the sdcard just delete them after flash

I had already done something similar with the battery circle but nothing else. The one problem I have with the theming of this rom is that there are no colors on the arrows when you're in 4g. If you could do this that would be great. Thanks.
Did you already have a post with this mod or did you just do it yourself and not share?
What is the icon for 4 g? I dont have 4g here so i have never seen it.
This thread may help you find the location of it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917515
I would love the 4g colored, it all white atm.
you posted that right as i started extracting htc.resources
This is how the icon looks currently with data moving
I posted a few all blue batteries and an all green before in this forum under a request for a circle battery. I wish I knew how to change other icons.
Found em. ETA 20 min to a working .zip
The charging icon is also white, not sure if you want to change that or not.
Would it be possible to lose the "LTE" vertical letters? makes it look cluttered.
Or, make the 4G larger, lose the lte and the arrows. Then, make the 4 blue for up and the G blue for down. Not sure of the difficulty level here, just an idea.
Thanks in advance for doing anything. XDA and its members are the best out there.
If it is done can it be a separate zip just modified from the original ideas? I like the LTE and the arrows

Gimmie 10 and ill whip it up.
I like everything about the mod except I miss the way I had my battery show the percentage every second or 2 when the battery is being charged. Love everything else. And I don't mind the LTE being there.
If you don't want to change that could you let me know the hex code you used for the rest of the blue so I could try to change that? Actually, either way could you tell me the code? Thanks.
This should work on all Sense ROMs out right now, not just Virus.
Thanks for the mod, it looks great. Is there any way the charging and bluetooth icons could be shaded the same blue?
I say virus because he themed a lot, so it still has all that in there. Im not touting this as a full theme because that would be ripping off his work basically.
im working on the charging right now.
bluetooth isnt blue when connected? framework images show it should be blue when connected.
I thought it would be but i was connected sending a photo when i took that shot and it was still grey.
just checked. mine goes blue when connected and paired
thats really weird, maby it just never connected on mine. ill leave that issue alone for now lol. thanks for checking
