Firstly download x8oc module, search it in the forum
Secound: push it to it's place (the thread is clear with this)
Third: install setcpu, or anything like that.

[Q] Please give me a little help on OverClocking... :(

I'm using the stock 2.2.1 rom and flash via RSDlite. The sfb file was from the top thread of this page. And when I use Androidiani 3.3 to overclocking my milestone, and reboot. The phone still running at 550Mhz. when I use Milestone Overclock to OC the phone, the phone can be overclock but without "steps". The phone can just have two frequency, 250Mhz and 1Ghz. Can anyone find out a prefect solution?
1. Is your phone root?
2. You can refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683451
1.yes
2.in milestone overclock it call me to use SetCPU...any other way to not using it?
Procedure to overclock stock 2.2.1 with AOR 3.3
Froyo 2.2.1 Modding Menu -> Install Mod - Conservative or Install Mod - Interactive
Froyo 2.2.1 Modding Menu -> Menu Overclock ( Choose the one you want )
Froyo 2.2.1 Modding Menu -> Install Mods Autostarts - not needed in many roms
Reboot Phone
ha great!! it works!! thanks!!
one more thing to ask, can I know the voltage level of the overclock setting? where can I edit it?

This ROM has integrated OC Daemon to control the screen state scaling. Therefore you do not need setcpu by default. However, it is a choice for you to choose to either install it or not because installing it would disable the daemon but you get to control the governors yourself and also clock it according to your preference at ease.
Do everyone know which kernel the best for OC
i've flash - jdkernel_vivo_nightly_07-26-2011 - can OC up to 1900Ghz but sometime its freeze and need to unplug battery.
so i uninstall and using only ROM - Cyanogen7_vivo_full-68- nighlies update
and RAM_Optimisations_777-CWM then Set Cpu to 1497Ghz
need advise - im noob

rcmix 3.0 is my personal fave at the moment.
Awesome battery life, can oc to 1.9ghz as well and is smooth as butter
Can you use the rcmix 3.0 kernel on a aosp rom like cm? I thought sense kernels didnt go so well with aosp roms..id
go with the tiamat kernel for aosp roms like cm.

[Q] Cant overclock in GingerDX

First of all im saying that im new and noob in custom rom section. my 1st installed custom rom was KuyaDroid. in that rom i was able to overclock my x8 in cmmod/performance section. but i cant do it in GingerDX.
My GingerDX installed process:-
1.first i installed "update-GingerDX.v019" in xrecovery via install custom zip,
2.then i also install "addons.modules.for.stock.kernel" by same process and full wipe and reboot.
i found that Duell touch works, but i cant overclock it like in kuyadroid. Now plz tell me what should i do?

Gingerdx does not have the overclock module but you can also overclock your x8 using dx's overclock module.
Then what's the use of "addons.modules.for.stock.kernel" that i installed by xrecovery.isn't it have dx's overclock module? i found x8oc.ko module in system/lib/Modules.then it means its not working. what should i do?
First if all you should install gdx with cwm, second ir you wanna this options you should install custom kernel, otherwise download from market some app for overclock your cpu
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Thanks for ur reply guys.

please tell settled or not?
put x8oc.ko in system/lib/modules/
by default its 691MHz, to change speed, use SetCPU or CPU monitoring app.

[Q] Overclocking GingerDX

Hi!
I know there are several threads, explaining how to overclock an X8 with GingerDX.
I wouldnt be asking this if I had already done it.
Thing is, I downloaded the OC Module (v004), pushed it to system/lib/modules, edited the hw_config (although down below there was a line with "insmod blablabla x8oc.ko) and I still dont know what Im missing, but on both SetCPU and Antutu CPU Master, Im still limited to max 600mhz.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advice everyone.
PS: Im using GingerDX v020 with LinuxDXv004
EDIT: Oh nevermind. I found out you cant overclock with LinuxDX. Thanks though

Now we see....what happen when opening new thread without deeply digging on thread...

can't overclock more then 748mhz using nAa11 nd custom rom xperience v4

Sent from my E15i using xda premium
oh dear, if you cant overclock more then, you cant overclock more! Its just tough luck mate
More is not a good idea for daily use... You will get some lag in multitasking..
Best for daily use (to my point of view) is 122 / 729.. More my phone was very laggy sometimes..
how to overclock in the first place?
can someone please give me the link on how to do it??
thanks!
Bah,
Go on parameters > cyanogemmod > performance > CPU : select your frequencies, check overclock and keep on boot and reboot.
If you've got the good kernel (as naA), that's all
i'm using gingerdx v22 with stock kernal
and i can OC it To 787
but i prefer 748 or 768
it's just luck!
but 748 is good, isn't it? at least for me
You can try and play with various governors,i think some go higher....
Guys, in general, there are 2 kinds of X8 concerning hardware.
If you got lucky, then you can overclock your X8 up to 806.
On the other hand, if you are unlucky (like me), then you will NEVER be able to have a stable OC over 719. It is just a matter of hardware
i could see the min and max frequency, but i can't edit it..
when i press it,it only shows a cancel button..
is it because i have a locked bootloader?
been searching yesterday about unlocking bootloader, and it's too risky(well, i've had enough rooting my x8.. LoL)..
and regarding to the governors lists, the frequencies does not changed even though i chose a different one..
needless to say, it's still 122-600Mhz..

i'm not stupid; i know what the search button stands for!

or no..for me it's the same..but i use alfs and i can go up to 768mhz..in nAa i only can 748mhz..
then OP, CHANGE KERNEL!
I don't think you can overclock with stock kernel
You need to unlock your bootloader to have a custom kernel. Then you'll can overclock

Follow the steps in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313) and then you will be able to overclock your X8, even without unlocked bootloader.
if ever i did it, and somewhere in time i want to return to the old one, could i just delete this module??will the phone frequencies return to default??

Yes, you can delete it, but not necessarily. You can change the frequencies manually in Settings > CyanogenMod > Performance > CPU, or you can either install SetCPU to control them, so you can keep the module if you want to overclock it again later.
I can Oc to 691mhz only ....
guess am the most unlucky here... ;(
I can overclock to 729 mhz!!
After dat phone works like a charm!!

nice to hear that..thanks!
anyway, when I went from v22 to v23b, the x8oc.ko on the module folder has been deleted..so i guess(not really sure) that it would be deleted when you install another rom..
