[q] galaxy s plus gt-i9001
Hello to all!
Is there a lagfix for Galaxy S plus ? Is there anything for this phone, custom roms or at least some themes? I have searched this forum but nothing pops up. I would realy like to play with it like I did with galaxy s.... For now my old Galaxy S scores more points in quadrant standard than Galaxy S plus..

It's true that back battery cover made of metal or still plastic as in original galaxy s? If yes can you give some photos of it

Nope! My came with plastic back cover. It has a little different pattern, but still plastic...was expecting to be out of metal. Battery is 1650 mAh and the metal frame is in light chrome, not in black chrome like the gt-I9000.

Galaxy S Plus I9001 Q&A
Hello to all!
I'm looking for a custom theme for galaxy s plus. I didn't find any yet. I really like the Criskello theme for sgs 9000. Is it possible to use a theme that's created for gt-i9000 or can I break my phone with it? Can somebody help me please. Is there also someone that can tell me how to convert the data system to ext4?

First time ever i hear about a a gt i9001 .
How does it differ from the i9000 ?
Have you confirmed that custom roms for i9000 doesnt work for i9001 ?

wow nice thanks for photos! well at least its not so shiny and finger print magnet as original galaxy s back cover......Does back cover fits on original galaxy s?

The back cover is also shiny. Maybe the picture isn9t so good. The structure seems to be underneath a transparent glossy layer. So also not finger marks friendly. Cover fits the old galaxy perfectly. It's totaly same size and shape.
The difference between gt-i9000 and gt-i9001 is in processor speed and gpu.
I haven't confirmed that custom roms for gt-i9000 don't work. I do not have a full rom to flash it if anything goes wrong..
If you know someone that can help...more than welcome.

Does the Galaxy S plus have another CPU or it's the same but overclocked?

I'm not shure. In Quadrant standard under system information it says CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 2(v7l) Max freq 1200MHZ cores 1, architecture 7, bogo mips 799.53 hardware GT-I9001 Board, revision 2

so they just increased the cpu hz to 1200, anything else different.

Battery 1650 mAh.......and GPU Qualcomm, Adreno (TM) 205. As far as I know nothing else..

No one??

How to root samsung galaxy s i9001 plus??????

Anybody????
firmware: 2.3.3
baseband: I9001BUKE2
kernel: 2.6.35.7- perf
[email protected] #2
buildnumber: gingerbread.BUkE5
How to root??
Please help nobody knows that...??
score is 1200++
my 3 button combo doesnt work
Can anyone help me??

WHats your quadrant score?
It cant be slower than a normal sgs unless your comapring to a rooted or custom sgs
Maybe i9000 roms will work on it, as long as you use kernels that allow you to O/c so you can match the speed
i 9001 the was missing the original galaxy s had but I forget what

Jp! My three buttons combo also doesn't work. Do not know how to get it in Download mode to flash the new firmware....

Hi,
I also had i9001 and if you cant enter download mode try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879701
"adb reboot download" this command should help after you successfully installed SDK.

[Q] DEFY+ or SGS ???

heyy people can u point out wich one to choose from SGS or DEFY+ ?
all i know is both having 1ghz cpu...but want to know which one is better for gaming with option of future updates...
thanx alot people
Defy has 800 MHz as standard and this is the sgs forum so i'm sure most people will vote for the sgs Read up reviews and watch reviews on youtube for the most help. Type defy vs sgs on youtube and you might find some good reviews.

Hello asn39!
First of all i want to classify the advantages of SGS over MOTOdefy+
-->1Ghz Hummingbird & 1GHz bump from TI-OMAP-3610 to 3620!
1) The point here is the Hummingbird has a GPU PowerVRSGX 540 that is superior over PowerVR SGX 530.
2) You have an overclock of 1.7 GHz paired wih a 40MHz increase in GPU.
3) It beats the MSM8255 in terms of FPS...
-->SUPER AMOLED screen!
--> No of ROM[20+Mod]'s and Kernel[8Mods] packs availability for SGS i9K.
-->Enchanced Sound from SGS coz of Voodoo v10 FIX'es.
-->Hack's and Mod's for SGS are under development.
now you have to decide whether to take SGS or Moto!

Totally agreed SGS has best gaming experince and high video quality with smooth and soft touch....and too fast

The SGS is highly individual and one of the flattest phones. Furthermore it's very light and well to handle. One big advantage is the stability - if it is having contact with the floor, it won't give up being a gentle friend ;-)
Get it, love it
SGS for sure

[Q] i9000 or i9001?

I want to buy a Galaxy S but... which is better? Galaxy S Plus has a few custom roms.. But its 1400 mhz.. hummingbird or scorpion? I'm a noob on these smartphones. some people say Galaxy S's processor is better than SGS+'s.. Which could I buy? Thanks.
I will recommend paying a few more and go for galaxy r .
Samsung Hummingbird is the best single-core chipset. ARM Cortex-A8 with PowerVR SGX540 = awesome combination.

The sgs+ is better compared to hardware, (there is the + for) but in my opinion the sgs is a better choice cause there are more people with this phone.. more people = more devs = more custom roms
And if you can pay more.. sgs2 is a much better choice

I agree with you. i9001 have a better hardware but have less devs working on them!
i9000 by far. Much more software, and in my opinion better machine.
BR
I'm running 1400 mhz on stock voltage of 1000 mhz. And -125 mv undervolted all of other frequencies.
Also I have a hummingbird + powervr 540 gpu
So I have Galaxy S+++
I9000 to the win

i9000+ will provide better web experience from the start thanks to higher cpu frequency, but you can oc i9000 to get pretty much the same effect. You need to decide whether you want customize your phone or use as it is straight grom the box. In terms of graphics i9000 crushes the i9000+, because it's powered by powervr540 while i9000+ uses adreno205 which is older and slower. Also there's the community backup thing. i9000 is one of the most popular and supprted android phones and this will continue even though much more powerful devices are released. It's just so user friendly in so many ways you can't ignore it. My vote would be for i9000, but it all comes down to what do you want from your phone and what are you going to use it for. Either way you go, you'll ebd up with a great sammy phone.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
i9001 is a nice choice, but i9000 better because of community and official samsung support.
I'll recommend u to look at the LG Optimus Black - it has almost the same price/specs but it's a newer model, so u'll get a support for a longer time...
I was in same situation as you, I choosed i9000 and I don't regret it - you can OC the CPU and the PowerVR SGX540 is much better than Adreno 205 + more ROMs and mods, bigger community, more people with this phone. I get around 3500 score in Quadrant benchmark.
..
Look guys i know all people owning the i9000 are very proud of the powervr sgx540 gpu it uses, but actually adreno 205 is better than sgx 540, samsung has recently updated the adreno 205 gpu drivers in the galaxy w which uses the same chipset as the i9001, those who have the i9001 can download these egl drivers from here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376462"
i have personally tested both the phones. the i9001 is in fact a good choice, the 1.4 ghz snapdragon cpu is the best single core processor i have seen, I don't want to hurt anyone here but all phones get old after sometime, the i9000 cant stay on the top always, and now we have the dual cores ready to woop our ares anytime
galaxy s i9000
for sure
DO THANK if you feel i helped you
Definitely the I9000! The latest stock rom (JW1) is incredibly smooth!

The Adreno 205 is not better, it's a piece of crap actually. 265m fillrate? that is the same as PowerVR MBX lite. PowerVR GPUs have much higher fillrate 1G fillrate which ensures gameloft games can be rendered with A.I. with lots of activities on screen. Adreno 205 renders OpenGL benchmark at very low choppy frame rates with disappearing polygons while PowerVR GSX 540 runs it smoothly without graphics glitches.
The 1.4GHz snapdragon processor is indeed better for multi-tasking, but what is the use of a faster processor with a combination of a ****ty GPU?
Not everybody is dependant on a gamer GPU. I personally don't play any games at all on my phone. So this depends on what you want your phone to deliver.

Isn't that only available for Roger's network in the USA and not worldwide?
you can't get the answer here... because most of the guys here have Galaxy S i9000, so they have to defend they're own device lol!!! and for all you guys here who doesn't know anything about "GPU's" i can give you a quiick info. here is a simple benchmark by two of the most respectable benchmarking groups anandtech and mobiletechworld.

PowerVR SGX540 is a beast but Adreno 205 held its floor against it and wins by inches at the majority of categories. (slap on the face of the sgx540) users hahahahaha :silly:

I don't think it's the same arm v6. I've watched the video of Galaxy Mini 2 and it can play flash on the browser!
And, yes. of course we expect the newest software for every new Android device.
Mini 2 have a very bit upgrade from Ace...
but it still a good device to replace Galaxy Mini.
... that about apps for mini?
From what i've heard. It would be upgraded to the latest version of android Ice cream sandwich and that sounds greatt..

[Q] Optimus Black vs Samsung galaxy S1 I9000

I have the possibility to exchange the Optimus black with Galaxy S i9000. What do you think, should I make the deal?
hhmmm....let me seee....
OB...............................................SGS
5MP + Flash.................................Just 5MP without flash
430 MB of RAM.............................380MB of RAM
SGX 530 GPU...............................SGX 540 GPU
Official ICS....................................No Official ICS
inly FEW active development..........Strong develoment and community
total score : 3 total score : 2
i know there is other factor to choose one of them....but actually, I like OB, camera and flash is my main priority(I have galaxy ace before OB, and I buy OB because of 720p videos), and plain offocial ICS with my own tweaks is enough for me.....
but ultra stable CM 9 & 10 and SGX 540 sound very appelaing to me....but 380MB RAM???? come on??!!!......actually, I am as confuse as you......
I'm considering the exchange because 3d games(GTA,Asphalt 7 etc) on OB don't work to smooth.I guess on Galaxy S I won't have problems ,because of the better gpu sgx540.
Lol... Samsung Galaxy S1 is a piece of sh*t.. I remember that I sent an app to my friend and his phone locked .. he had to remove the battery.. on my OB this never happened.
And OB has flash, S1 doesnt` have.
I just say NO .

[Q] MSM7225A in Galaxy Mini II?

Hi,
I have a question... Why in my phone is MSM7225A CPU?
i.imgur.com/BrmYtPK.jpg
It's ok?
Please reply.
Greetings
The only difference between 7225a and 7227a is that 7225a is clocked at 600mhz while 7227a runs at 800mhz.
I don't know why it's labeled like that, but Mini 2 is definitely 7227a
But how it's possible, that I have MSM7225A? ;|
It's theory
Samsung are scumbags. oh sorry it's well known
and back to theory, there are 2 motherboards(fact), one with 7227A and other 7225A(your photo as proof ?). Maybe that is the cause of whitescreens bug on CM ?
Well, thanks to you we have some conspirancy background and samsung scam proof.
Yeah , is true you have 7225A .
Want to see a real clue ? Look .
Look at this video from youtube, he is disasembly mini 2 .
youtube.com/watch?v=QXFTHe82ZPk
go to 9:00 and you will see the motherboard and the processor on mobo at 9:07 .
