Bye bye everyone, waiting for HTC Vigor. HTC Thunderbolt user - Motorola Droid Bionic

There is one guy that called me an idiot because I was thinking in going to Sprint
In all honesty, I do believe the 4G Network from Verizon is amazing, and Samsung Galaxy S II is NOT 4G (let's say 3.5G or whatever)
Bottom line it won't reach 14000 kbps/s like the 4G LTE Devices of Verizon
So Samsung Galaxy vs HTC Thunderbolt, yeah it might be a better device but on the other hand the speed of the network is not as fast
So I don't see a clear winner, I will give a slight advantage to Samsung Galaxy S II on sprint.
I have to pay around $50 per month to stay in Verizon (since my family all have Verizon), so that was another good thing about them, it's a little more economical for me
But anyway, some guy told me that the HTC VIGOR will be an awesome device from Verizon, so what I did was
1) Buy cash $260 HTC Thunderbolt (new device, or as good as new)
2) I have my credit in Verizon still (I can use it when HTC Vigor arrives)
I would like to thank the person that recommended me the HTC Vigor, I was really disapointed with Bionic
For the people that said that I work for another carrier, haha, I'm just a user, and I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the BIONIC
Thanks guys, thanks especially to the guy that recommended the Vigor, I am 99% sure it will be a great device

Good luck...bye bye

Quit trolling you already posted a thread about this. Just return the damn thing already.

Good riddance, one dbag troll bites the dust with YET ANOTHER "gibs muh attenshunz" post. Don't let the door hit you. I take that back. Refrigerator.

Should I Sell My Nexus One?

I got this Nexus One by trading my G1 and $125.
Am currently on T-Mobile - contract up in March 2010
Ive been getting quite a few offers for my Nexus.
- Two people on craigslist are asking 300-350.
My phone is literally 10/10 condition and comes w/
everything , casemate case.
You think I should sell it for 300-350 now?
Should I wait till March 2010 when my contract is up? or do you guys think it will drop in resale value way more by then.
also do you think 300-350 is fair if cash is given

Do you need the money? Do you really want to sell it?
Only way I would sell my Nexus One is if I needed the money and I had another Nexus One already to replace it.
If you like the phone and don't need the money then why sell it?
Not a lot of better devices right now. Would hold on till contract ends or if something u like shows up. But it really depends on u'r needs: money, etc...
Practically all new androids are better than it. Choose wisely.

I am in a similar position, been offerend 350CDN for my Nexus but there really aren't any other phones out there that offer anything substantial over it to sell it... I like the Galaxy S, but until it is officially on Froyo it seems to buggy and really only has the bigger screen as the biggest reason to upgrade. I'm holding off until there is a substantial reason to upgrade.

I dunno guys, I love my Nexus too but I'd sell it if I could use an EVO or a Droid X on GSM I think. The screen pisses me off to end on the N1 the lack of accuracy, the effed up multitouch and the horrible performance of the screen in sunlight drive me crazy. This is an amazing phone but HTC had to go and screw up the whole package by choosing a ****ty screen. Coming from an iPhone 3GS I can tell you that this screen is by no means at par

Gladly! New androids as in practically every android made after the Nexus One.
Verizon - Droid X, Droid 2, Droid Incredible, HTC Merge, Droid R2D2, & Samsung Fascinate
Sprint - Evo 4g
Tmobile - HD2, Samsung Vibrant (if you can stand touchwiz) & G2
And these are the phones that I can think of off the top of my head. If you want to check out the European phones: Desire, Desire Z, Desire HD.
So to reiterate, yes the Nexus One was a good phone, very nostalgic, set the tone for the new devices that came out. But with that being said, the new devices that came out are better than the Nexus One. So read up, pick one you like, and either sell the N1 or hold onto it for sentimental value.

i don't really understand caring about wether or not you're on a contract. put the SIM in and use whatever phone. surely you're not considering LOCKING YOURSELF into another 2 or 3 year commitment for the sake of a $4-500 phone ?
as far as all those being better, the hardware specs are very similar. the carriers... oh man, CONTRACTS ! no thank you. i'll stick with the tmo pay-to-play non contract.

The no contract route is pretty cool. If there was a possibility of me leaving Tmobile, I'd go contract free. Since I know I'm not going anywhere, I apted to sign the contract.

Yea. Before I paid Google 500+ I did my research about my nexus, and the math. Figured up over 2000+ dollars saved over two years using voip and Google voice, so I bought my nexus flat out and have been smiling since. Benchmark test wise I'm still over the Droid X and along with evolution I don't like the size. The g2 has 800 MHz =( and I don't use QWERTY or HDMI out. So a year after the purchase I would make it again today =)
N1 running psfreedom recovery and MIUI! sent via XDA app =D
All those phones mentioned have identical processors. Nothing running 1.3-1.5 ghz out yet. From what the news was saying is that towards the end of this year and begging of next we will have faster processors on smart phones.
I'd say hold off on selling your nexus or if you do, you aren't really getting anything better spec wise, maybe design is what you are looking for.

Keep the Nexus !
If you are wanting to stay with a certain carrier, your Android choices can tend to become very limited. I've been with Tmobile for years, happy, not moving.
My phone choices.... I dont really see any phones offered yet as being worth
signing another two year contract for.
I mean nothing fantastically better that my Nexus.
Heres what I mean, two years ago I was on the original G1 prebuy.
The Nexus is very drastically better than the G1.
I just dont see the TMO phone thats drastically better than the N1.
And if you have a Nexus then you have TMO or AT&T and AT&T's Android phone selection is worse than TMO's.
I'm holding pat especially since the N1 gets the updates months before any other phone does.
MyTouch was supposed to get Froyo "soon", and months have gone by, still no update.
Its almost like TMO would rather just keep everyones attention on its once a month new phone release than update the older phones.
When I do get a new phone I will keep the N1 till I'm sure the new one is better.
I've yet to see that phone though.
^ very true.
What also worries me is that none of the announced phones that are due to be released in this Q of the year are a whole lot better than Nexus One.
But as someone else said, I love my N1 except for the screen. The screen pisses me off so much!!
The G2 and the new mytouch are good replacements for the N1 in my opinion. Granted I'm not too impressed with the new mytouch overall design, nevertheless, the specs are nice and the FFC is a plus.

To Revolution or not?

Hey all,
Currently a DInc2 owner and looking for a 4G device to play with. I can get a Revolution for $80 third party, no contract, etc.. Worth It? Opinions?

This is only my second Droid, so i may be biased but i love this phone. I had an OG droid for years before this so it was quite a change, but MT, Cubed, spc, and a lot of other folks have made this phone go from a pos to a really fun and versatile device. I'd say yes its worth the money, but again i have a limited base of comparison.

80 bux. Ya. Maybe try and shop around a bit more. There was one guy who could get his hands on one for 40 bux.
It is a great phone with mods. If you get one, well, welcome to the community.
Haven't played with the DInc2 at all. Had an OG DInc, and upgraded to the Revo. After modding it, it is a great phone. Does everything I need it to and more. It's perfect size; not as big as some of the monstrous phones that have been coming out, but large enough that it's comfortable to watch videos and browse the web.
There are some quirks about it, depending on what you want to do, but nothing that cannot be overcome, and there is a good community here at XDA to help out.
$80 is a great deal, off contract. Shop around to see if you can find it cheaper, but that really is pretty good. 4G phone, with 12GB internal storage, 16GB MicroSD, front facing camera and one click root? What more do you want?

I got this phone the second week it came out so I paid full two year contract price. But the looks I see on peoples faces when my benchmarks are higher than theirs is priceless. This phone has become so much more because of the people who develope all this software for it.

[Q] Upgrade Available after only 6 Months

I bought my Bionic on November 1, 2011.
Today, I received an email today from Verizon with the subject "Congratulations - You've earned a new phone!"
I thought that you were supposed to wait 2 years until you were eligible to receive an upgrade at the discounted price.
Well what do you guys think I should do? What would you do?
Wait for ICS on Bionic or get a new phone, and if a new phone, which phone should I get?
Do you have a grandfathered unlimited data plan?
If you don't have a grandfathered unlimited plan then either go for it or wait for something better to come out. If you do have a grandfathered unlimited plan then don't bite.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I am not grandfathered. I have 4GB for $30/month.
I just thought it was weird they offered the upgrade.
I thought maybe all Bionic users would be offered it, but I guess not.
The email was sent on the last day of the cycle, so maybe more people will get their email on the last day as well.
I might wait for ICS and more custom ICS roms because I already have desk dock, car dock, and extended battery.
Be careful too.. make sure its actually from Verizon... alot of viruses going round looking like that to steal ur stuff..
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I can attest to this early upgrade. Some times the main line on a family plan will get an early upgrade

I'd wait until Verizon has an HTC One.

If you were on unlimited I'd say bite and get a Razr Maxx.
Since you are on a tiered plan, just wait until you see a phone you like.
Yeah, I'd say wait since you're already on a tiered plan. Who knows what phones will be released later this year!

Hold out for an HTC One X or Samsung Galaxy S III
Dude! All the phones that were out six months ago are still the best you can get right now, they really haven't "moved" as far as what's available in quite a few months (which means you should expect something better any day now).
I know because I have a "new every two" available on my primary account and I'm going to wait until they get the SGS3.
Personally, from experience I know that HTC One "X" model will be a beast if you'd rather not wait for Sammy to show up on Verizon.
They have a habit of introducing nice phones right before they make the real monsters available. Expect that to happen again, as in maybe the HTC One X (and maybe other variants of the HTC One) first, then they'll introduce the Galaxy S3 after everyone they can suck the juice out of gets the HTC models.
It happened to all of us that opted for the Bionic: two months later they (Motorola & Verizon *****es) pushed out the Razor and Maxx not too long after that.

HTC One 5 million sold!

After hearing all the bad news about execs leaving HTC because the companys not doing well etc, etc!
Thought it's time for some good news:
HTC is close to 5 Million units sold (Shipped to carrier's) thats 50% of what Samsung claims.
The fact that HTC is having shortages is proof that those #'s are mostly in consumer's hands rather than retailers.

...yet.
This is still in the rumor mill. And it really does sound like it's gonna happen. They may not have released it to Verizon right yet because the demand would crush any opportunity of them meeting it. That being said, next month when the component providers kick up their orders, and HTC starts getting more produced, it's going to explode when it's been predicted to be released on Verizon. This will be huge.

..omg, I'm going to be so pissed. Not only would they be kicking dirt in the face of the other users but completely prove themselves to be liars about the "not enough room" crap.
They would have such a gigantic **** storm. I'm sure they'd get **** if they got a 64GB version though..
...be careful how you announce the Verizon version, HTC. All I'm saying.

S4 also has way more advertising and they bash apple in their ads. HTC just needs to kick up their advertising and promotions like Samsung has.
The s2 is a horrible device and I still get customers coming in asking for it because Samsung is advertising it still. I have to spend extra time to convence the customers that signing a 2 year agreement on the s2 is a terrible idea.

Supply and demand, Verizon should just announce it already. Remember the long lines Apple releases first created. It would be great if an HTC device could drive the same traffic to stores. If Verizon releases and says quantities are limited it very well could cause great success with a limited supply should the current devices in the market on other carriers (like the one I have on Sprint) continue to amaze everyone I show.

No, android fans are smarter than that. There are better ways of getting a bleeding edge device than sleeping on concrete at the stores doorstep.

Dear HTC Guys

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made this phone and community awesome ^_^. I just sold my One to a family member for a LG G2 pre order(back to the og evo for a month D: lol). Love you guise!
I need a family member to buy mine off my hands haha. I want to go back to iOS... sort of. Maybe go for an S4 or the G2. Hoping for the nexus 5 to work on sprint 100% too... that I'll get for sure if it does work well in the sprint network.
