After 18 months of loyal service, my TD2 speaker volume is about 1/2 of what it should be even with all volume controls set to max.
I've looked through the threads and tried the registry fixes and nothing works. I've even Hard Reset the phone so I believe it is not a software issue.
Anybody out there had issue with the speaker hardware and how to fix or get a new speaker part?

Hi all,
Did a search for Speaker and got back 5-6 pages...nothing similar to what I have here so I'll ask my question!
Over the last few days, I have noticed my ear speaker buzzes at full volume
Catch 22 because we all know the ear speaker is not the best so I put the volume down, buzzing goes, I can barely hear them. Put the volume up, managable volume but it buzzes
Now I actually do phone repairs as a living (though part time!) and come across many phones with the same issue. A speaker replacement is the solution however, phones are new as this tend to go back for a warranty fix.
The issue at hand is that we've never had to send back HTC devices back as I can fix most of them but this one is a little different!
First question is, does anyone have any experience in sending back to HTC for this specific fault?
Second question is, If yes, did it come back fixed and has it lasted to date?
Some phones the problem comes back after a short while - it is just the design because most people have the volume continously pumped up to full - on nokia's this is not needed most of the time, but on the Diamond it is if you want to hear them!

I've just started to experience distortion on high volume on internal earpiece speaker. External works OK, but on internal there is such a heavy buzzing that I have to reduce the volume to minimum, but then it is inaudible.
What happened to you - did you send it for repair or did you repaired it by yourself?
Anyone else experiencing this type of problem?
Hello, greetingz to all. I recently purchased used Xperia, and it worked well untill few days ago, when i start to have problems with microphone (in phone). The sound reception is very poor and people i talk to can barely hear me or not hearing me at all. I tried all and nothing works, except when i connect headset in vibration-only mode. Then the reception of the sound from the headset microphone perfect. But not when the sounds on the phone are on, or in any other case. I also tried does it record sound on video or audio for MMS - same thing, just crackling noise.
I would appreciate if anybody could help with this. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I did hard reset, i did reinstall software from SE Update (even i had most recent one), nothing happened.
Same problem here!
But i can use the headset when the sound is on.
Im afraid i lose my phone for a while, again. I had software problems before.
I think i will burn a good rom when it's back.
in settings->system->Microphone AGC
turned on ?
AGC == automatic gain control which mean the mic adjust it's sensitivity according to the volume of the surroundings
Rudegar,
i wish i read your tip before i brought it to the shop
but i think it would be standard because i also tried a hard reset?
there is also a crack in my xperia, so i sent it anyway
greets, robbin
Hello,
My gf's phone (Bell's Touch Diamond, DIAM500?) recently stopped playing sounds, including ringtones, there's no sound when the phone rings, if set to vibrate/ring it only vibrates, no sound at all when playing the ringtones or any other audio file.
However when in call you can hear fine using the earpiece or on speaker.
Volume is set to max, no mute or anything I checked all config everything is fine.
Tried soft reset and removed the battery to no avail.
Does the phone has two speakers? One for the earpiece and one for ring/system sounds? I'm trying to find out if it's a hardware or software problem.
I can't seem to find the Service Manual only for the GSM Diamond.
thanks!
Bump because I am having the exact problem. Someone please chime in.
This problem from IC Sound replace it and it's will work well .
i do get this issue
i need to tap the top of the mobile really hard and it starts working
Dear All,
from the beginning I am facing the issue with the volume levels on my Note 9 (Exynos version). The last two volume levels decrease the volume overall so it is like the maximum volume of the phone is at 80%. Anyone faced similar issue ? Any idea how to solve this ?
I have already tried the factory reset, uninstalling 3rd party apps, used samsung music apk but issue remains..
Yes, even mine but this is not an issue but a way to avoid to break the earphones or the phones speakers because the level of the sound will be to high for them. Also that behavior doesn't make distorsions that otherwise will be present at that volume level. The same thing happens (volume goes down) when rising the cursors of the equilazor when selecting costum sound or selecting valve sound option because all these causes distorsions at high level volume. Also this thing is generally used in all Samsung phones and I remember it since galaxy s5... So, not an issue at all.
I remember the same behavior happening even in all the old stereo systems amps and even car steroes when putting on the loudness function that boosts the basses and the trebles on low and middle volumes and goes out in the same way and for the same reasons as our phones near the max volume.... so, even old stuff and even not a samsung invention.
I don't know the answer but I did notice the volume changes in Pie, I was always annoyed by the fact that notifications weren't loud enough, now they seem too loud. Might be an audio bug.

I'm not on pie, still on 8 and it's not a bug for music . For the rest, like notifications, never noticed something and so I don't know.. maybe what your experiencing is a bug.
Hi,
I have suddenly experienced low volume while using the stock headphones that came with my phone. Weird thing is when I turn on the voice chat feature on a game that I play, the volume goes back to normal and when I turn it off the volume is low again. I tried another stock headphone (same model) and the issue is not present.
I don't believe that the headphone's hardware is the problem since the issue is not present when activating voice chat on games. There could be a configuration or setting that I need to configure.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.
