[Q] Wifi - Bluetooth not startable - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
since a few days I have a very strange problem. I'm unable to start WIFI and Bluetooth, it seems like the phone cannot initialize the chip. When I shut down the phone and restart it, it just "hangs" for a few minutes on the start screen (Touch Diamond 2 with the versions in red). I reflashed with several radios, HardSPL'ed it with 2.51 , nothing seems to work anymore...
Any thoughts ?

New ROM on FTP (logout 5.4.03) Now V5.4.05.HN

It seems logout has updated his WM5 ROM.
This is based on TuMa 1.4 but with the pre-installed applications removed to speed things up a bit.
I've no idea what's changed since 5.4.01 as there's no readme/changelog and don't have time to test it right now.
hi have download and tried this rom, but stop im middel off upgrating on my BA stop over 40%
wait for more info..
I upgraded successfully to this ROM just now. I was using the old Logout rom, so I hope this is a bug fixing update.
Will post feedback when I test it out.

Hi logout,
I have to say you nailed this version nicely. fastest ROM ever.
good work dude. keep it up. thanks you.
imatrix
Agreed. This is a really fast ROM.
Congratulations Logout, you just won the speed crown that used to be held by Ivan v4R2.1.
One bug I've spotted with the inbuilt taskmanager - don't use the "cpu usage" option in the menus. It hardlocks the Today screen, only a reboot returns things to normal. This is not a fault of the ROM though, and I'm otherwise really pleased with this new taskmanager, waaay more detail.
When I use Logout previous version 5.4.01HN, i tryin to use my XDa2s as a USB modem, when i choose wireless modem in program and change connection type from serial to USB like the documentation from wiki, and click start, but its shows error and I cant use my XDA2s as USB modem.
And can you teach me how to connetc internet using incoming and outgoing port on blootoh ini your newest ROM.
Thanks Mr. Logout you the best.
I am testing this ROM and, as the latest one, is really fast. The only problem I've found by now is that the phone suddenly after a soft reset refuses to start. Clicking on the antenna icon shows it is "Out of service", and there is no way to make it work again but hard-resetting the device (losing everything in the process, of course).
Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Can anybody help here?
Anyway, thanks for your work Logout.
thanks a lot
let's enjoy and debug it!!!
Great So Far!
Well, so far:
* excellent speed
* the voice speed dial works great with my Jabra 250 BT, HOWEVER it seems when I'm in a call only the audio out works on the hands free, you have to put your mouth next to the phone mic to have any chance at the conversation. Further testing pending
* active sync worked flawlessly
* Bluetooth still does not remain on during standby :-( ... the never ending curse continues!
that's all the testing I have for now, will try some more, but so far so good!
Thanks... logout ... i love u rom... Great job!
Thanks for Sharing
hi, all
i have reflash by ba an d now everything is ok..
just like to say that the speed is fantastic on this rom... thanks
and seens to be very stable.. i will continue test and report if i find a issue.
thanks again.
great ROM, but, after soft reset, it looses the time and settings(various registry changes i make like registering resco explorer and some other apps). WMP10 behaves a little odd in beginning of any song.
But, as said above, the ROM is indeed stable and works like a charm irrespective of the bugs mentioned above
kudos to LOGOUT

Taskmanager - don't use the "cpu usage" option in the menus.
Click to collapse
Task manager I extract from Hima 2.03, maybe CPU USAGE work in BA not well. Download new version & copy to windows\
If use backup built-in to restore data, after restore don't press OK to reboot immediately - wait a few minute to update registry then reboot.
A couple of things that I have noticed...
First of all.. Well done... The Rom seems to be very stgable, and damn fast!
OK.. a couple of bugs... (well.. maybe just me being an idiot!)
First.. I love the way that you have set the Ext_Rom to automatically install.. however.. why have you included the rst command in the config file?? would it not be easier to leave it out, and then power off and soft reset manually?
Second.. MS BT Stack & Wireless Modem.. Works great, about 85% of the time, and then reconnects saying PPP link protocol not connected in Windows.. hmm.. a quick radio reset and then it works again. It even connects WITHOUT the Wireless modem software!! (However, you need a soft reset or to activate flight mode to switch the phone back on!
SPB pocket Plus works fine,
The camera driver seems to work better than other versions i have seen, however i cant play back files that i have previousely recorded. They just show a series of still images!!
I installed a few games and stuff as well.. BTW Netfront 3 didnt work for me!
Keep up the good work!

Soryy, I found another bugs when i tryin WIFI in my class today. When I turn off, it on again, and again.
WiFi
Hi Logout
I installed your new version and started with testing. It's fast (exept PIE, but nothing new) und seems stable.
On my device, I got several problems with wireless:
Cradle-Issiue:
When my device is connected (and running) to the pc and I plug out the usb-cable, wifi won't work. Wireless is connected to my access-point, but no traffic, when trying surfin or sending/receiving.
When I power off the BA and then plug out the cable, wifi will work after powered on the BA. I use these also to prevent a soft-reset when I forgot to power off before unpluging.
Allways resuming:
When the device is powered off, while wifi was enabled, wifi will restart automaticly after power on. When wifi is disabled, it will also be restarted after the next power on.
The work-around for this: Set the "ResetOnResume" (HKLM\comm\tiacxwln1\Parms) Value to 1. For me its working.
Does anybody know, if the new ms-pushmail-service could be added on a BA?
Thanks for your work
Chris

and afther i take out the BA of cradel, i need to close activesync, becouse if i dont do this, afther i clic on power button, he after 1 minute, resumes im self on.
but is very stable, on morning i dont close activesysnc and put my BA on pocket. afther a few minutes i take im and a lot off programs if on i ongly need to close everything and put im again on pocket
i ongly made a soft-reset becouse off wifi..
thanks
Great rom Logout!
I it the fastest ported version, but has some bugs. When you enable speakerphone in phone mode the notification for it stays even after you ended call. I had some problems that i can not enable bluetooth and wifi , then softreset fixed this bug temporary
Crash
After trying to activate or deactivate wireless, my Qtek freezed. I had to softreset the BA:
The phone can't be activated. Also "no service" indicated, when clicking the antenna-icon - the same as bolopez wrote.
Also the Calendar, Contacts & Tasks can't be started (I synched them with the exchange-server). ActiveSync appearing, but not working.
Perhaps the problems could also be caused by activesync. When uncraddling the BA, it allways showed the icon with the two arrows in titelbar like in the state of connected with the pc.

problems installing 20070418_RUU_Trinity_LVSW_WWE_1.25.0.8_GPS_AKU3.5. 2

Hi All.
I just purchase a new unlocked HTC P3600 (1.15.405.5 is the verision that the device came with from the store) here in Canada.
This unit came from the store with the GPS icon available in SETTINGS/CONNECTION connections.
I have spent the last week reading, and reading, and rereading all you guys great posts on the new "cooked" ROM updates provided for FREE from some of the members/developers here, and the hints and tips for usability! Thank you all for this site and forum!
Now, into my question.
With the verision of the ROM that I have, is the GPS activated? I do see the GPS icon in the I have installed both google maps and live search which both software seem to have GPS functionality built in. I would like to get these programs to work with my built in GPS. However, it is a bit confussing when reading through all the posts on GPS to figure out what are my GPS settings that I should use from this particular ROM verision? I spent 2 hours trying every single combination of GPS program port (COM0-9 and GPD1-9) and GPS hardware port (COM0-9), with out success with either of the two softwares (live search or google maps). Both give an 'can't communicate with GPS' errors, with any of the combination settings.
FYI- I turned on the 'manage GPS automatically' when trying these comb settings. Each time I tried a different setting, I didn't do a soft reset.. just changed the GPS settings.. and then went back into one of the two program mentioined above and tried.. each time it fails with 'can't commicate with GPS'.
Question: do I have to do a softreset everytime I change the GPS settings? AGain, the device manual has NO documention on how to setup the GPS settings.. and the forums is somewhat confusing as I don't know if these methods are ROM specific or not.
Is there any utility that I can use to see if my GPS is activated/working under my current ROM?
Secondly, if my ROM is too old and I need an updated verision.. I have a small problem here too...
I downloaded LVSW ROM: 20070418_RUU_Trinity_LVSW_WWE_1.25.0.8_GPS_AKU3.5.2, which from what I have been reading here.. is a exellent ROM! But I have problems installing it...
My battery is 100% charged.. I am using my USB cable with my laptop (so powerfailure won't 'brick' my phone) running Win XP SP2 with ActiveSynch 4.5.
I make the activesch connection fine.. I lauch the .exe from the ROM.. i get past step 3 in the wizard... by clicking NEXT to install the ROM.. on the phone a verification prompts me to allow this program to run.. but as soon as I click accept/allow.. the wizard on the laptop immidately loses connection with my phone and says 'can't communicate'.. on my phone i get a red, green, blue and white bars with the text.. TRIN100, IPL_SSPL by Des, TRIN100, SPL-1.07.ds, and in the white area it says serial.
Thank god it didn't 'brick' my phone.. a softset brings my phone back to normal. I have tried this twice.. but same error problems...
I just want to get the GPS workings with my currently ROM with live search or google maps OR install this new ROM and get the GPS working with the same 2 programs.
If anyone can assist it will GREATLY be appreicated!!! I hope have i provided enough details for some of you PROs out there to assist me... lol.. hopefully I am not doing something stupidly wrong!
Thank you,
Chris
ps: In regards to my above post, I have tried the recommended baud rate of 4800, 9600, and even 57600..in the GPS settings again.. no luck...
Thank you,
Chris.
Hello did you upgrade the radio rom???
If not go here and do it,
you really nead that...
RADIO_ROM_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL.rar
Hi Audsim.
Thank you kindly for the note and the link. I have already downloaded it.
Is this all I need to get the GPS working?
Yes you have to update also the radio part to enable the gps on your device...
Ausdim,
Thank you very much for you help. The radio update ROM installed perfectly!
I thought I would also mention that I found a 'work around' for the LVSW install problem (referenced in my post above) for those that might have the same problem.
Every time, I would try and install the LVSW ROM... on the last step in the wizard, I would get an error on my laptop 'connection error - can't communicate with the pda' and I would get a colored screen on my phone.
Before, I would just unplug the USB from the phone, do a soft reset to bring the phone back to normal and try again.
What worked, is that I left the USB plugged in after this error. I close the install app down and reopenned it (yes the phone was still on the colored screen).. then I would go through the install wizard again..and it worked!!
Very odd behavour as I followed the provided installation instructions to the T, but atleast I got it working and all is well!
Thank you again!
Regards,
Chris

Problem: Bluetooth crashes / switches off occasionally!

Hi!
I'm having my BlueAngel (O2 XDA III) for about one month now. Generally I'm very content with it, but from the beginning on I'm facing the problem, that occasionally (several times a day, especially when using my BT-CarKit, but also when BT is switched on and inactive) BT switches off or perhaps even crashes.
After that I can switch it on again, using the Tray-Icon. But: Often the Bluetooth-Manager doesn't want to start during the first minutes after crashing (so I can start Bluetooth using the tray, but I can't configure it or create a new connection).
To fix the Problem I have already searched the Wiki and this forum - without success. I have also reinstalled the new Broadcom BT-Stack (1.0.0.3900) following the Tutorial in the Wiki - also without success.
Can anyone help me? It's really annoying, when I'm just holding a conversation via my Bury CC9060-Bluetooth-Car-Kit and then suddenly Bluetooth switches off, so that I have to pick up the BA to pursue the call, holding the telephone on my ear.
Greetings from Germany!
EDIT: I'm using WM2003SE as OS
I've found out s.th. else: A few minutes ago - my Bluetooth was running - I used another application on my PPC, when suddenly the PPC turned off. I switched it on again and had a look at the BT-Logo... and... of course, it was off! Very strange thing... BTW: I have already tried a hard reset.
No one got an idea?! Could it be possible, that I'm the only one who has ever had this problem?
hello, i have a similar problem and solved it deleting the overclock program from the ppc
What is the overclock-program and where can I find it? Thanks for your answer!

GPS start-up times.

I am on my second Diamond as the first one (Original HK phone from Expansys) had to be returned due fault. I now have a replacement (1.35 ROM).
The GPS on the original phone worked really well and started up quickly, even in doors. On the new phone the GPS is completely useless, to get it to connect initially took about 10 minutes standing in the garden. The last two mornings I have tried to use the GPS on my drive to work. Both times after 20 minutes the phone had not connected. This morning I even had the roof down.
I have searched the threads for a solution to this and tried everything including flashing the ROM to a later version, quick GPS, aGPS enabled and disabled, HTC GPS tool, Tomtom 6, Tomtom 7, Google maps and GPS tuner.
I'm now at a loss as what else to try, than sending the phone back for another replacement.
Is there anyway to set up the internal GPS manually either via software or registry tweaks or any other possible solutions to this.
try upgrading to 1.37 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402284
work perfectly for me, with quickqps updated, it will fix under 10 sec in IGO8.
I've tried 1.37 and the TLR Rom, the probelrm is still the same. The frustrating thing is that it worked really wel on the first phone.
Careful with one thing: GPS Autoattach (getting an IP from the network)
I tried this tweak with my diamond (enable or disable with schap's advanced config)
With Radio On (no flightmode) ans GPSAutoattach On, I get fixes as fast as 10 to 15s
With Radio Off (flightmode) and GPSAutoattach On, I get fixes as long as 40s.
Yes it seems weird because if you have no radio, you can't get an IP from network (so in this case GPSAutoattach is useless)
Turning GPSAutoattach Off (to save battery) I got no fixes at this moment (i gave up after 1min1/2 ) Radio On or OFF
Perhaps something wrong on ROMs about the GPS/AGPS.

diamond freeze on gps startup

Hello, recently i got a real big problem with gps, everytime a software tries to use it, it hangs the device, for example in igo8, it hangs at the voice that says no gps was found or something like that, it just hangs in the middle of the voice message, and then it becomes usable for another 10 seconds after 40sec, then back to freezing point...and it goes on like this even if i succeed in closing igo8, it still continues to freeze/unfreeze on the same pattern, until i soft reset. Even after updating igo to a newer 8.3.2 build it still does it. Also tried Googlemaps and it does the SAME THING when trying to find sattelites after selecting use gps. I must mention that it worked fine everytime, and it started doing that recently. A-gps is disabled. Please helpp! I'm a real noob driver and I always need navigation assistance!(
tried htc gps tool today, and it hangs the same way when opening com4 port on baud 57600..
LE: Got it working after trying everything except updating quickgps, after that it started working again, probably the previous update corrupted some of the settings in the gps. I never would have thought that would be the reason of this problem.
