usb appear on the screen in three colors
and i can install rom

Then have it easy, the last instalte handle dft rom 7720 to bring a utility with which you can install applications through the internet xap directly on the phone, this would help you reinstall the application that has left your phone so, understand what I'm saying?

It happened to me the same thing to you with the application and fix usbmodeswicht.xap installing this rom I say.
Me neither synchronized with my zune and solutions as well.

Understand what you say
But not having any space to install the program on the phone

nstall the rom I said and then using data through wifi or internet access and the page where you downloaded the xap that have blocked the USB port, it is probably usbmodeswicht, reinstall the application and put it back in so zune .
Surely what's happened is that you have put diag mode.

ok
i testing

Usbmodeswicht.xap installed using:
First option - Internet phone browser for the web where is the xap file, click with your finger on the file, download it and install it, again put it to zune and fixed.
Second option-rom Once you have installed using the qr code reader by clicking the eye icon in the browser that bing (magnifying glass), open the QR codes on your PC and read it with the phone, you automatically install the xap you have selected, ok?

This program does not install
I wrote the address on file in Internet Explorer
But the file does not download
I said before, this is not feasible due to lack of space
If a ROM is probably too small to fill that space does not
It would be
With a ring tone
Without photo
Without app
Without additional languages
Etc.
A small ROM
If space is on my phone it works
Even the Zune is connected and
The program is installed and running
Now what should I do?

I have the same problem.
I have the same problem.
please help to fix ,

There are multiple warnings to NOT install that xap as it pretty much breaks the phone. Your only real solution is to dig through this thread and see if there is a solution.
Apparently Xboxmod has found a solution near the end of the thread.
AND I REPEAT DO NOT RUN THE STORAGE TOOL XAP
It WILL mess up your phone.

Is a solution that requires no space
For example, when changing ROM
Or from the boot menu is like HSPL
Or a secret code
Or a factory reset (not factory reset Windows)
I do not know

Thank you for your help.
But this solution was not helpful.
My Problem and all who have this problem still not resolved.

I got up and test solutions that did not solve my issue:
1 - changingROM (several different ROM)
2 - changing memory (and its format)
3 - Factory Reset in Windows
4 - Connection Zone
5 - Use "WP7 Update Cab Sender" (because the space is needed) in the ROM 7713 (Must first be connected to the zone)
6 - install app of Internet Explorer (such as the need for space) in the ROM 7720
None of these solutions was not helpful
I do not know

[Q] Installing 1st app without adb

The only cell phone service I can afford is Tracfone for my used HTC Hero, so I’d just like to use the HTC to run apk apps. I understand I need to get some kind of apk installer on the HTC. However, not having a phone-Internet connection, I have to install (including my first app (an apk installer) from my SD card or via USB. I’ve read I can do that with the Windows adb program, but to get at that program I have to install over two gigs of Eclipse (whatever that is), SDK, Java itself, and then the Java updates. Is there no other way I can accomplish this?
Would flashing my HTC with a different ROM give me a way to accomplish this? Would that easier than the Java/Eclipse/SDK route?
Would it work if I could find someone to install an apk installer on another MicroSD card for me? I would really appreciate ANY suggestions you may have.
Thank you
Trish
All you need is the drivers for the phone so it can see it and the SDK. Once you get that you can use the adb install command.
It is possible that one of the ROMs still active here might have a file manager already installed. If that's the case, you can install it through your SD card. Usually the cyanogen ROMs have one installed. Have you tried one yet?
Installing 1st app without adb

ONCE YOU GET THAT YOU CAN USE THE ADB INSTALL COMMAND.
You mean I needed Windows drivers so the SD card is visible in Vista. It is visible now. I can see the files on the card.
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ONE OF THE ROMS STILL ACTIVE HERE MIGHT HAVE A FILE MANAGER ALREADY INSTALLED.
This sounds very encouraging to me, but how can I tell? I’m not a developer, just an aspiring Android user. I see no Icons that appear to represent file managers, but when I go to Settings/Applications/Manage Apps – there are names that I can’t figure what all they entail like. For example:
com.android.providers.applications
com.google.android.syncadapters
com.htc
DCS.utility.component
DM command service
Download manager
EPST
And, if one were a file manager, how do I invoke it since it doesn’t appear in a menu?
IF THAT'S THE CASE, YOU CAN INSTALL IT THROUGH YOUR SD CARD.
USUALLY THE CYANOGEN ROMS HAVE ONE INSTALLED. HAVE YOU TRIED ONE YET?
Are you suggesting I flash a new ROM? I Googled Cyanogenmod and found this.
- flashing a radio
- f download the latest version of the radio (2.42.02.10.29).
- f place the radio file on the root of the sd card.
- power off the htc hero (cdma).
- boot into the clockworkmod recovery, by pressing the home button while powering on.
- once you enter clockworkmod recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and the trackball button to select.
- select install zip from sdcard.
- select choose zip from sdcard.
- select the radio update.zip.
- note: the htc hero (cdma) will reboot during this process.
- once the installation has finished, select reboot system. now the htc hero (cdma)'s baseband version should now be 2.42.02.10.29.
I’m not building a system so I don’t need Java, Eclipse, SDK? The last part sounds like file management to me. Selecting the file and magically installing it. Is that all I’d need to do? Cyanogenmod is compatible with most of the HTC Hero’s Android apps
Thank you so much for your help.

Houses the last Cyanogen release for the hero. It's 66mb (man, wish new ROMs could be that small again)
Within this ROM is a file manager that can browse your SD card. Check then box to allow unknown source for apks in settings, then just browse your SD card with the file manager to install.
GApps I can't seem to find. Hmmmm............let's see

I think I may have jump the gun here. Is your phone rooted?
No. I was just given this hand-me-down and I never imagined there was so much to installing new apps on a phone with no phone service. Now that I've "got the picture", I've just bought the XDA Android Hacks book to give me a quick and dirty education. Before this, it seems everywhere I've read, there was always a gotcha. Plus most involve Java which I have removed from my PC. My plan is to look into getting the SDK for Linux Mint (which I've just installed on a laptop) and then using adb. Otherwise,I'm afraid one of those gotchas will turn up after I've done something and I'll end up with a brick. So it will be rooted. But it may take me a little while. Thanks a lot for your help.

MTP and MAC - How to view files?

Long story short: I transferred files with ADB to the SD of my phone and recovery I see them. Once being in my file explorer, I can't see them. Where are they? How to view and easily transfer files from AOKP to my MAC? And how the heck is a noob who did not root his ONE supposed to ever transfer files? Gosh, I never expected this new phone to be that difficult..

Restart mac restart phone make sure that you aren't using a usb 3 port. It should just work.

There might be a popup on the phone to allow connection too. I can't remember if it does that for mtp connection or not

One and Mac

Hey guys is there any way to connect my HTC one to my Mac and transfer files? I use webdroid sometimes but I am looking for a quicker solution. The HTC sync manager has the file option blanked out and Android file transfer does not register the phone is connected. Any help greatly appreciated.
I used android file transfer there is a trick to get it to work that has to do with uninstalling and re installing android file transfer. If you can't get that to work there's always airdroid although it's not as fast.

Use Android File Transfer and enable USB Debugging in Developer Settings
Works best that way
Android file transfer is broken with the 4.3 update. It worked fine until then. Any Solutions?
HTC Sync Manager works for me. You must wait for a few seconds after connecting the phone/launching the app and when you see phone's names and amount of storage in bottom right corner of the program Files tab should be clickable.
Check that you have latest 2.4.12 version.

And make sure you have USB Debugging enabled.

[Q] Can't Access Internal SD Card - Need original platform.xml file

So things were going well... I had rooted my S5 thanks to Geohot, was able to install and run Titanium Backup and see my old backups from my last phone. Then when I tried to backup my S5 I ran into the "insufficient space error". A quick Google searched revealed that I needed to edit my platform.xml file to be able to write to my entire External SD. So I did edit platform.xml, reboot the phone and voila.... I can't access either my internal or my external SD card! Far as I can tell, I screwed up my permission in platform.xml.
Can someone please send me their original so that I can hopefully get my phone fixed?
If that doesn't work I may just have to reformat and lose all my data since I can't find any other way to fix permission since I can't run most of the programs on my phone (I can, however, use Solid Explorer).
Where is the file located? And you need it from a non rooted phone? Just did this for another member today.... I suppose I could do this for you as well.... don't want you to lose all your data bro.
---------- Post added at 04:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:55 PM ----------
What I did with titanium Bu was use the sdfix https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix and went into preferences in TBU and changed Backup Folder Location to /storage/extSdCard/TitaniumBackUp
This of course assuming you have a micro sd card in the phone. Give me the path to where the file is and I'll grab it for you from my wife's non rooted phone.

Thanks again for the file, however it does not seem to have done the trick. As far as I can tell, something is happening where the mapping is incorrect for my internal and external SD. I can still access the files for the internal SD through /data/media/0 and the external SD through the media_rw directory, but the "normal" mappings lead to an empty folder. This is a real problem because most of my apps can't run without access to these folders (I have about 6 apps continously FC'ing when I boot up the phone). What do I do?!?!

I had the same issue. First try a factory reset. If that does not work, then you will need to downgrade, with a factory reset. Just resetting the platform.xml file doesn't work without a factory reset, neither does a factory reset without resetting the platform.xml file. Once you screw up the permissions, then your phone is screwed pretty good. I have a guide in the general section.

[Q] lost all files on sdcard, but still only have 15 gigs of space?

I have a 32gb locked bootloader att moto x.
I've got it rooted on 4.4 with write protection off, and i've safestrapped a rooted 4.4.2 stock rom to it.
Recently I wanted to upgrade to 4.4.3 with the Krypton rom, so I was cleaning up my sdcard at the same time to get some more space. I guess I made a mistake somewhere along the line because shortly after deleting a couple files, my sdcard came up blank and I lost all my files. The thing is, my phone still shows up with about 15gb of used space, and I know that the rom and system files themselves can't take up that much space. Furthermore, if I go in the google play music app, it's able to play certain songs that were previously on my sdcard, despite it seeming empty to me.
Is it possible the files were relocated somewhere? Kind of like what happens when the sdcard files end up in an 'emulated' folder? (it's not the case here, at least not in /sdcard)
I appreciate your time and help!

Look for a folder called LOST.DIR in the emulated storage.
There are chances that your lost files are present there. This usually happens when you mount the SD card as opposed to connecting it to a PC vai MTP mode.
Do post your findings!

Unfortunately it was really wiped clean. It was done via MTP mode. Nothing other than the android folder and download folder, which were both empty.
What I don't understand is what kind of file on my sdcard could have erased all others when deleted? Could it be safestrap related? I'm quite certain the cable was nicely plugged in and didn't move.
And why is some of my music still present? :/
Pretty sure you're flash was corrupt.
I would flash 4.4 again with fastboot and as long as you don't erase anything with fast boot.... I bet all you're files turn back up.
I'm not sure what special steps, if any you need to take with safestrap and that.... But refreshing stock will likely fix it.
---------- Post added at 12:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:18 PM ----------
Of course you'll need to do the whole root and safestrap stuff again after.
---------- Post added at 12:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 PM ----------
Here is a guide with a return to stock section. In fact, since you are on 4.4....correct? You could flash 4.2.2 post camera update... Not pre camera.... Cause I think you need that version to root again....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603358
Basically whatever you did to root and safestrap, you need to do again.

The thing is, I've been running this rom just fine for at least 2 months now... And I've connected it to my pc using MTP in the past and it worked without a problem, so I don't see what would be causing one now. That being said I may RSD back to post camera just to make sure, who knows maybe it will fix this. I'll probably do that tomorrow and I'll be sure to post my results. In the meantime if anyone has a less time-consuming method feel free to let me know! haha
Won't hurt to try. ?
Just a follow up: I wiped data via safestrap recovery and installed Krypton. Works fine and now my storage shows about 3 gigs of used space, so my sdcard files are lost for good. How it happened is still a mystery! All I can say is be careful what files you delete from your sdcards!
