I had my optimus black get stuck on the bootlogo after trying to flash a new theme while using the NOVA ROM V8. I flashed the firmware V10b (the phone came with 10Va but I couldn't reflash it for some reason...) and now everytime I reboot my phone it loads up like its the first time its been booted up and everything is cleared...
Anyone know why this is or have a solution?
Go in setting to Privacity config (the item below Accounts and syncronization, my OB is spanish translated...) and then Restore factory defaults.
Reboot and that's it. (I hope)

Yeah, I think this is exactly the same as hidden menu. Phone reboots into recovery and do hard reset.

Something wrong with my phone. It has 0 kb free space in phone memory on stock clear rom 10a. Factory defaults not change the situation. I trying install another rom(10b) trough KDZ updater, who tell me, that update complete and everything is ok.The phone reboot, and LG logo on screen looooong time(about 1-2 hours).I remove battary and phone is start on, but in "About phone" still 10a and 0 kb phone memory. Sorry for my bad english.
try factory reset in settings > privacy.
Eventually enter 3845#*970# to enter into Hidden Menu and do Hard Reset from there.
I did it all - no result
Humm how about to root it first, then install cm recovery 5, in recovery choose wipe data, cache partition and dalvik... then flash the rom again with kdz.
Dunno if it will work...

If it says there is no space, you can't install anything.
I had this problem but factory reset from hidden menu helped.
Try THIS METHOD. You have nothing to loose right now.

flash with lg mobile updater if its not working! for me when i did factory resetting it returned to normal!
Hey! Would like some help from you guys if possible.
Yesterday i tried to install the Marvel ROM on my P970, doing a step by step and it went ok but i ended up not liking the ROM so when i went into CWM Recovery to wipe data/factory reset etc to install another ROM, CWM Recovery just wouldn't allow me to reach those options, everytime i tried to press past the 2nd option the screen kept resetting back. I tried with touch and options went in but i didn't have any lines saying "YES" to erase, all said "No"..
So at first i tried to SmartFlash the phone back to the original Froyo version, and the phone got bricked; after that i tried to SmartFlash it with a Gingerbread version and it actually worked but when it resets the phone and goes into CWM Recovery, the same situation with the options (like with Marvel ROM) happen.
Right now what i want it to be able to have CWM working properly so i can wipe data/factory reset etc, to be able to install another ROM in it, i don't want to stay with the Gingerbread default version that SmartFlash manages to get through.
Any ideas?
this is the touch version. scroll down or use sensitive keys to browse

Nvm! Understood what you meant! On my way to try and get a decent ROM running! Big thanks!
Hmm,
I'm not quite sure what's happening but factory resetting the phone through the settings menu itsself does absolutely nothing ... it shuts down the phone and EVERY SINGLE SETUP (wifi, calendar, apps, everything) is still there after reboot ...
Same happened to factory reset through CWM 6.2.0.8 ... I flashed another rom after wiping it (took long long long time +-20 mins or so I think) and everything is still there, wifi, apps, you name it...
Can't think of doing anything wrong here
Problem with my Z or ... got no clue

thought they'd be gone, but they weren't, so I though "hey, perhaps something changed (came from galaxy S2
now today I tried it through the reset option in the settings menu, it said to remove apps and such, guess what, nothing happened, everything still there ...
note: I'm on stockbased rom (romamur, came from deodexed rom first)
no clue what's happening
Anyone ? :/
Hi all
Just unpacked my shiny new HTC One which is still on its initial charge fresh out the box. Im going to be updating it to 422, but my question is..
Like you do with Samsung Updates, after youve installed all the updates, is it a good idea to Boot into Stock recovery > Data/Factory Reset > Clear Cache > Reboot, or can I just "Factory Reset" in Settings.
You need to do this with Samsung devices because they are so full of Bloated crap all running in the background, that a clear cache is needed after a Rom update.. so is it the same. (This is why Ive switched to HTC and jumped the S4 altogether)
How do I get into Stock Recovery to reset/clear cache
Thanks

you can't clear cache with stock recovery, you'd have to flash a custom recovery a factory reset should do it, but it'll remove all your personal installed apps too!

Thanks for the speedy reply . I used to own a One X (so awesome, but it failed ) and you could enter Stock recovery on that and reset. However, Ive just read that if you enter the Ones boot loader (Power + Volume down).. then you can do a hard "factory reset" from the menu, ill just use that
Heres the YouTube link in case anyone else was curious:

Does Hard Reset not remove everything.. Pics, music, settings, .. all of it.. hence the reason why this setting is in the Bootloader itself.

Connect to PC in fastboot mode, fastboot erase cache - should work
Dear friendly xda-developers,
I did a factory reset and afterwards I wasn't able to select a region.
At first it asks me to select a language. After that I have to select a region, but when I press the "next"-Button it just blinks to show me it got pressed and does nothing.
It doesn't matter which language and region I select, none of them will work. And tried to factory reset again and the problem didn't change.
Any idea what I could do?
The phone is not rooted, nor did I do anything to change something on the phone. I just did the factory reset via booting the phone while holding Volume Up + Power Button and then selecting a factory reset.
In case that information helps: Before I did the factory reset I could't open the settings app. It didn't work when I selected it directly nor did it work when I was holding the symbols for example WLAN or bluetooth. The result of trying that was nothing.
I thought it might be a possibility to install stock firmware or stock OS again on the phone? But I couldn't find any guide on how to do that. Bootloader is locked and never was unlocked, so a custom ROM is probably not an option.
I really hope someone here can help me with that.
Kind regards

If you have open bootloader than flash personas mod, if not, try a factory reset again.

I will try that. Do you have any guide for that?
And can I do that via fastboot instead? My SD card has only 2GB. If it only works with a SD Card, I will buy a bigger one.

I guess the rom is less than that. And idk with fastboot, you need unlocked bootloader for that afaik.
I borrowed a SD Card and it all works fine now. Thank you.
