[REQ] Stock Revo Recovery - LG Revolution

A problem has come up with my Revo's orientation sensor that I have yet to find a fix for. Fyi I tried every rom on here, fully wiping, everything I can think of, and everything, including a sensor app i found to look at all the sensors, says its out of wack. Anyway, Im gonna bring it to verizon to see if theyll switch it out under warranty, but I want to return to full stock before I do, and I just so happen to have misplaced my original stock recovery backup ><. Would anyone be so generous as to upload it somewhere or some way to get it to me? Or somewhere I can find it? Thanks.

Do you want the recovery image to replace CWM or a stock back up?
The stock back up can be found on here somewhere. The cubed posted it up I believe adn the Stock recovery to replace CWM is with the Revotoolkit, also somewhere around here posted up by cubed. Hope I helped.
Remember to thank me if it did.

Thanks a ton, I didnt see that RevoToolkit had stock in it, that really helped!

[Q] Nexus One, Return to stock 2.2 after trying 2.3.3

After the initial jubilation of finally getting Gingerbread on my stock Nexus one, I have come to the conclusion that its a little half baked and setting aside all the little annoyances, the current battery life bug that seems to be affecting some people (myself included) is just terrible.
So my question is, how to I get back to stock 2.2 (or 2.2.2) now that I have 2.3.3 installed.
I don't want to root, or open the boot loader or do anything to invalidate the warranty. Is there a way ?
Thanks, and sorry if this has already been covered somewhere else (could not find it)

Worked for lots of people, don't know if it works for 2.3, it worked for 2.2.
So.. ya might just wanna keep an open mind.
Anyway, some of the links on the page are dead, you might need to dig around for what you need.
Google is your friend

I tried this also (just to see for myself, instead of listening to the rumors), and can confirm it works.
The only comment I would make is that the filename is NOT case sensitive (I got it to work as PASSIMG.zip, passimg.zip, and also combinations like PassImG.zip)
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Passimg method is working? Nice find! I imagine this will be of great help to many people.
Thanks for all the suggestions and help, I will give it a go.
In terms of the most recent version that I can go back to, I assume it has to be a manufacturer shipment ROM or full system image.
The latest release on shipped roms is FRG33 http shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Passion%20(Nexus%20One
I found on the HTC developers site (http developer.htc.com/) FRG83 but the link seems to be broken http dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/signed-passion-img-FRG83_0923.zip
Assuming I can find a copy of FRG83 system image, am I correct in assuming I can also rename this to passimg.zip and downgrade or does it have to be the FRG33 manufacture shipped rom?
ps, sorry i cant post url links hence the http
If it's a shipped image, then yes.
If you look in the zip, and see a bunch of image files, instead of a folder structure, then it will probably work...
Let me know if you find FRG83.
I know someone who would LOVE to find it!

Hi,
I know this question may sound stupid but I have this doubt and I would like to understand better one thing:
Can someone please explain me why it's not possible to restore 2.2 from 2.3.3 using directly a nandroid restore skipping the PASSIMG.zip part?
I'm new to this and I'm still learning some things, but if the nandroid is a backup of the entire system, why can't I just wipe out everything and restore from that file?
Thank you so much for your help!
If you have nandroid - great.
If you flashed stock image - you don't have it anymore, because stock image overwrites your custom recovery, and without unlocked bootloader or option to root, there is no way to restore it.
Thank you so much for the reply
So, just to be sure: since my bootloader is unlocked this means that if I wipe everything, then I can flash a custom recovery and then restore from a nandroid backup without having to flash first another stock ROM and root again, right?
That is correct.
However, keep in mind that rebooting your phone when you soil have the stock ROM will cause the stock recovery to be restored, so as soon as you install your custom recovery, you need to boot into recovery without rebooting the phone...

[Q] Twingerbread Camera Issue

I would post this in the Android Development, but cannot since i have not posted much.
Aaaaanyway, seen an issue that other are having with the rom that I would like to fix if I can. Camera will not go into video recording as it FC's every time. Same with if you try barcode scanner and the likes.
So far I have reflashed, deleted email.apk, camera.apk, camerafirmware.apk, tried hacked camera.apk, stock.apk, blah blah.
Wondering if someone found a different cause and or solution.
Was using Serendipity but not sure I ever noticed if it was aproblem since I barely use these functions these days.
Was fine when it was stock (way back when).

Since you have deleted Email.apk you are having this problem. Advice you to not delete apps that are needed for the ROM to function properly
Sorry..
Misunderstood.
I noticed that in your thread to give it a try, that it worked for some people so I did, not that it happened after I did.
Wow that sentence looks retarded.
Lets try it again. Had the camera and barcode issues THEN tried the above.

Ok let me take a step back. Do you mean that just after a fresh install you are facing this problem? I mean you havent restored apps+data using Tibu etc?
Edit: people who had problem either deleted Email.apk or CameraFirmware.apk and thats what my first impression was
Oops, misunderstood that post on the email delete.
Anyway, I have reflashed with no luck to the fix.

I am running the same version 3.3 right now a fresh flash and just recorded a video.. Let me know if you used Tibu to restore apps+data.. thats my next guess
Yes
Correct. Issue still after re-flash, no TiBu yet.
On a seperate note, I really like the rom. Looking forward to the possible blue theme. Came from Serendipity which I liked as well.
Don't necessarily need these functions (I barely use them), I just like to have things fixed.
Ok now one last thing that i can try would be to request you to download the ROM package again.. ODIN back to JF6 for a fresh install.. Flash the fresh downloaded package and see what happens.. you may have a bad download is my last guess
Will do
I will try another re-flash.
What do you thing Tibu is messing with (if that is it)?
it might just affect if by mistake any system app or data is included in the list which can cause camera to FC
EDIT: PM me if you cannot stil get camera to work. Would be happy to help
Still reflashing. I will let you know how it goes.
Again great work on the ROM. I am just being a perfectionist on something I barely use.
That did the trick. Maybe bad download.
I will also have to be more selective on what I let TiBu restore.
Thanks and keep up the good work. Again looking forward to Bluebread.
Alright now keep enjoying 3.3 till you see a 4.0 coming your way, and a blue theme too
twingerbread + sgh-i897 + VIDEO camera = fail

I have re-installed this ROM twice on my captivate sgh-i897 ... the video-camera does NOT work. period. moved on to continuum's rom, because ... the video camera works, for one.
Twingerbread is a nice rom, but has anyone thought about flashing to Apex (i think 5.2 is the latest). Unless i am wrong, it replaced Twingerbread.
If I am wrong, PLEASE don't start calling me an idiot. I do sometimes get facts mixed up.

you mean you installed ApeX 5.2 and without restoring your apps + data with TiBU camera wasnt working for you? I have heard this problem before and everytime it was restoring apps+data using TiBU that was causing issue.. or let me know if you have deleted email.apk?
Does the same thing happen if another backup app is used? I've used My Backup Root since I started flashing, and I've never experienced anything look that(and I ran Apex 5.1 for about a week before going to Continuum v4).

Android market

I am trying to figure out if I am just doing something wrong or what. I have never really paid for an app, but with the issues lately with viruses, I decided that I was going to start replacing the apps I have with the 'official' versions. But a couple of them are for work and I need to add them to my AT&T bill. I am running cognition4.3 and my market does not have the option for billing to AT&T. Is it because I am running a custom rom? What can I do to fix this issue? One of the apps is 30.00 and I really don't want to have to pay that out of pocket.
sent from a phone using an app
First thing to do is make sure you are using your correct Android_ID
There is a fantastic app for that found on the market called Android ID changer, of course you need to know your original android ID first, which the only way you would get that would be to flash back to original then get your ID, save it, and reflash your custom rom of choice.
This is just what I have done in the past to correct that problem, there may be another way.
the correct id?
Hmm, well I really did not want to have to flash back to stock for that kind of information, does anyone else know where i can find it?
I guess I can do a back up and then flash back to stock and then restore my back up.

Each device has its own ID so you will need to get yours from your stock build.
I am at work now, my boss had a USB cable for me so I did a Clockwork back up flashed with odin, got the id from the market app, and now restoring from back up. I guess I will know shortly if it will work or not.
Edit: reinstalled rom then i will restore from back up.
ok, well that did not work any other ideas?

[Q] Can't send/receive calls or texts after screwing with PRL

Running Beanstalk.
Have been having intermittent issues with mobile data, so I'm sadly familiar with toggling Airplane mode, changing the CMDA subscription, rebooting, etc. in order to jog mobile data into working again. Lately have been having a weird, sporadic problem with people I call only hearing static on my end, so I chatted with Sprint, got to the point where they suggest typing the code to reset/update PRLs into the dialer, and bailed.
Then, in my infinite wisdom decided to try flashing a Sense ROM, proceeding with the manual PRL update/reset, and then wiping and restoring my Beanstalk nandroid.
Now I can't make or receive calls or texts at all, no matter what I do. Have tried all the old toggles. Have tried a complete reflash of Beanstalk. I'm beginning to worry I seriously borked something up.
Is anyone familiar with this kind of situation? Did I screw up, and if so, how bad? Any solutions anyone can think of? I'd be most grateful for any and all help. Thanks guys.
Reinstalling ROM from scratch and if that doesn't work then running ARU.

Okay here is what you can do, there is an app floating around these forums that can allow you to manually write the prl, find that, and then use a stock prl for sprint. I believe this post will help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296167
Let me know if that helps.
Oh and also yeah flashing a different rom wouldnt help because they do not contain any of that information, in fact i think all the carrier information is stored in a different partition for this exact reason -so they cant be easily overwritten.
I build the Beanstalk here and haven't come across that issue yet. Do you have a backup of your original stock ROM? You need to get back to straight stock, like out of the box stock. From there, you can update your prls or anything else OTA-style, check your functionality, then redownload the Beanstalk ROM from here, do a full wipe(no internal data), install the fresh DL, Gapps, fix permissions(PhilzTouch 6.0.3.3 only), and reboot. Should be good to go and should only need to toggle airplane for reboots and occasionally for the wifi. Let me know how it goes, either here, on the BS thread or by PM. Good luck....
If you have no original back up(after getting back to straight stock, MAKE ONE), then use Bigdaddy619s threads on getting back to stock. After that, then follow the steps above.
You should always make an original back up of stock directly after rooting and unlocking. ALWAYS

Thanks, both of you.
BMP - Beanstalk rules - it's definitely my fault. If I have a back-up made just after getting S-OFF, would that work?

I'll try these solutions out and post back. Thanks again guys.
Yes, it should as long as everything worked then. Driving right now. Try it and let me know. When I get home I'll help however I can.

Your welcome and yeah it should defintely work, just make sure you use the right prl
Worked!
I think what I'd originally goofed was not immediately rebooting after the prl update, since the Sprint lady didn't mention that step (or maybe I didn't hear her). This time I immediately rebooted and data came back, and then I was able to flash BeanStalk and stay functional.
Many thanks to both of you!
