reboot should fix it. If you cannot turn it off with the power button you can download Quickboot from the market or if need be do a battery pull

I rebooted and even pull battery the same I download a launcher I will uninstall maybe works

What is your settings for the screen timeout? Settings > Display > Screen timeout.

Was having same problem along with a few others, such as led blinking on restart, and docks not always working correctly. Just exchanged for new bionic and everything seems better with this one. It even had a different wallpaper installed on it right out of box. I thought that was interesting.

Know is not the phone cause was working good probably I will restore it cause I ubistalled the launcher and the same

I found the solution.....the problem is when you use the hdmi cable :-( if somebody in the same problem I can post the link for the solution thanks all anyway

Im currently having this problem now too. I could see it being related to the hdmi cable because I do use that frequently.
Can you please share the fix if you found one.
Thanks!

Is your phone on the charger when this is happening? There a setting under Setup>Applications>Development that keeps your screen on all the time when the phone is on the charger.

I know it's technically solved, and unrelated, but I wanted to let you in on a related note.
If I manually shut my screen off on the charger, but then move a mouse connected to it, the screen will turn on.

CM7 dead screen

I think is a known issue, but is there a fix to allow the top right of the screen to work. Its really diffult to use the nook app with this issue.

It's a known issue with the Nook app update itself. B&N said they were looking into fixing it sometime (tm). If you're having issues with other apps or just the screen in general and corner sensitivity, download Nook Recalibrate from Market and run it. Don't touch the screen (make sure it's clean prior to doing so) and let it run --- it'll just sit there for a minute or two then reboot.
Thanks, yeah i guess ur right it is just the app.
I should probably recalibratw anyway since I installed a screen protector.

XOOM light sensor screen lock/unlock

Help!! Haha i had seen an app a while back that some dev had made where the XOOM could lock upon light sensor being covered and awakened when uncovered but i can't seem to find it now! Should of just bought it back then. Anyways if anyone knows of it or a different similar app that uses light sensor info would greatly be appreciated thanks!

Tried it a while ago but cant seem to figure out proper settings
Yea tried this once couldn't get it to work but I tried it again and again no go ill email dev see if I get a response thanks for the tip!

I just downloaded that and it seems to work well. One of the default settings disables it in landscape mode, which might be the problem you guys are having. Either deselect that option or try it in portrait mode to see if that works.
I'd still like to find something closer to what is described in the OP. It would be kind of useful to have it just turn on and off when I open and close my case.
Aite I got it to work upon closing sweet now if i can just find one that "aweken" my Xoom upon opening case....

I think you might be talking about Killswitch. It was developed by an xda dev. I tried to use it with my 7 inch tab, but had fcs. However he was very helpful. I haven't tried it with the Xoom, but I think I'll look it up.

I was able to install it yesterday from the link I posted. The apk is there under the market link and video. I decided against using it, but you can give it a try.

Notification Light Stuck Flashing

A reboot won't fix it. I have no new notifications. I'm rooted and froze some bloat, but nothing major.
Anybody else encounter this issue?

Saw that happen when I used the Tranquility toolbox. Rebloating and deleting the app worked to fix the issue for me. Manual debloat with TB or using kejar31's debloated rom worked a little better, no stuck light.

Hmm. I froze Vcast apps and some other bloat with TB. That's all I've done besides block some ads. No toolbox installed.

Im pretty sure it will only do it when you restart so just do the same thing and you will be fine...not sure why it does it but easy fix...

I have nothing to confirm this, but this issue just started happening to me on my Bionic for text message notification lights after the recent Handcent update. I have not tried to uninstall Handcent and see if this happens with the stock messaging app. I am wondering if this is a Handcent bug... Is everyone having this issue using Handcent?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
My solution was confirmed: Handcent recognized that there was an LED issue and fixed it in today's update.

Backlight Dying

So the backlight on my D3 is going in and out when I slide the keyboard. Any suggestions?
Umm try turning off automatic brightness lol.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
So did you find out if this is a hardware issue instead of a non-issue?
Turning off auto brightness didnt work. Pretty sure its a hardware issue now. Off to Verizon I guess to get it replaced
Make sure you get rid of root and stuff lol

Lol yeah. They had me do a factory reset when I called, which caused my phone to get stuck at the create accounts screen (some motorola process FCd everytime I hit finish). I had to use Pete's tools to restore my system/app folder and now its good again( except for the no backlight part). I probably should unroot it too. For now the only way I can get the backlight to work is if the slider is slid halfway. Waiting on my replacement now.

[Q] New HTC One

Just received my HTC One today through Best Buy and I am loving it so far but I have some questions:
1. The box didnt include a SIM card removal tool for some reason. Should it be included and if so, should i go to Best Buy and get it? I doubt I'll ever need it.
2. Is there haptic feedback on the phone? I have vibrate on screen touch and keyboard checked but it doesn't vibrate. It vibrated once or twice while I was typing but that's it. And it has never vibrated when pressing either back or home. My battery was about 30% so maybe the power saver has something to do with it?
3. When I'm in the camera, the screen gets really bright. Is that supposed to happen? I'm running on about 25% brightness on the phone but when I get into the camera app, it goes up and when I exit, it goes back to 25%.
4. Is there a way I can restore my apps with data from my E4GT to my One without rooting the One? I read that MyBackUp pro does the trick but can anyone confirm? My E4GT is rooted by the way.I want to bring my games with data (like how much money I have in the game) or my Colornote notes over to the One.
Thanks!
1. You don't need a sim removal tool because there is no reason to remove it.
2. There is haptic feedback, and if the power saver is on then that is why.
Not sure about 3 & 4
4. Helium should do the job for a non rooted device. It's in the play store.

The screen is supposed to go full brightness when u launch the camera app. It's defaulted like this so u can see a accurate preview of the photo u are about to take
